Floss ,lovey cheerful paintwork.
Gosh you lot are Christmas organised. My gift shopping is done and wrapped. Very little to do this year as we and the kids are doing a secret Santa . I have bought cards but I don't like some of them! I don't send that many. Just to elderly relatives and a few people who live away. I received my first one last night. I went to my old village where they are doing a window advent calendar. My friend is a professional artist. WOW ! What he has done with tissue paper and black card.
I am putting my mind to making clementine chilli jam to give away as little gifts at Christmas. I have some jars soaking the labels off as we speak. I usually make chilli jam and fancy chocolates. I think this year peppermint creams as so many people are now veggie and vegan. I will also get something for my neighbours who are my bin monitors. I have not put my bin out or in since I lived here!
The Christmas decorations that I sorted out are listed on FB as of 10 mins ago. 2 things being collected later already. The banana box they were in is going to DD2 as her house sale is moving along and should not be not too long now.
MIL phoned last night and said she is going home today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think so. She cannot walk and has masses of medical issues .No care package etc etc. Bless her. I really understand that she wants to go home though.
I will list my frogs in the hope that I get on with them.
* Big nasty, ugly frog. gloss the woodwork in our bedroom
* wash and paint the garden bench which is in the way in the kitchen!

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Friday is a grey, cloudy day but warmish (9C) 🙂 DSis is now suffering from her booster jab - a really hot arm so has retired to bed with a bottle of squash 😔☹️ I have had a teeny spurt of activity 😉 Menu plan, shopping list (have sent DH to MrS 😉) & dealt with post - filing, recycling & shredding. DH has just got back & all the shopping has been put away 🙂
2197 - 2198 One inch of recycling, newspaper - recycled
2199 Emptied shredder & added 1” of shredding - binned
Lucky you Floss - adopting a decorator 👏 Good luck with your decluttering 🤞Lovely colours Floss 🙂
Excellent work Happy_Kitties 👏
Great work TC77 especially dealing with frogs 👏 Typical large company attitude to try & squeeze people for more money when they haven’t done the repair properly first time 😡
Please take it easy mothernerd 🙏 as you are ill it is perfectly acceptable to recover & then declutter. Although you have still been busy & I am very pleased to see that you are making inroads into the plan to spend more time in your own home 👏 I really admire your attitude - you have had a tough 2 years & sadly your mum has not really made it any easier 😔😔 Your perseverance, patience & forbearance is a shining example to us all & as such I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ As to moving boxes, I think you should count as TWO - one for the box & one for the contents 🙂 Your experience of the various lockdowns - national & local - would have driven me to distraction 😔 but you have handled the resultant difficulties with grace & frequently with humour 👏 Thank you for sharing your life with us 👏
Nice to see you villagelife 👋 Great decluttering 👏
ruby_eskimo, sounds like interesting kitchen decor 😉 Please cut yourself some slack 😉 you have been very busy cleaning, tidying & decluttering 👏 so not surprised you haven’t found time to do your listings 😉
Great work Gem-gem especially the Christmas presents 👏
You have been busy preparing for Christmas, vulpix 👏 unlike me - still haven’t written my cards 😔 The hm chilli jam & peppermint creams sound wonderful 🙂 What lovely neighbours - one medal 🏅 for them 🙂 Yippee to the speeding up of DD2’s house move 🥳 Here’s hoping that something can be sorted for your MIL so she can spend Christmas at home 🤞Good luck with the frogs 🤞
Great work on the electronic decluttering oceanspirit 👏
Never mind short_bird - at least it is getting done 👏

Various items taken to the bins.
***Lost a few paragraphs here and not going to go through it again*** Condensed version 2 bags of sheets taken to my house, 3 pairs of jeans and other items in cs bag, many small and a couple of large bags out to the bins, an old x box (+3) out in the backs (skip pile), washing on, 2 more loads need drying, next pile ready to go in, lots of whittling down (contents spread across 3 cubes all in one).
Attacked the couch again quilt cover in the washing pile (going to try running the washing machine and dishwasher throughout the day tomorrow), quilt inside was very thin but clean. bottle bag started. Took a filled bag to the bins and put a broken stool, drawer and a computer tower (gutted0 onto the skip pile (dropped the computer onto the plastic things to beak them down0. bag of paper out. Took the fan outside , undid the front and brushed all the dust and chinchilla fur off it.
Pulled the cube shelves away from the chimney breast and swept out everything from behind it. Another filled bin bag out and DS3 read the meters for me (using a mirror/ flashlight and finally the camera on his phone). The sheets and pillowcases all fit in one cube box, so will try to pack some of my clothes tomorrow (hardly worn my t-shirts all summer - have several floor length t-shirt dresses and mostly wear those and add layers if needed).
As a bonus I found a colouring book that is intended for my d-i-l. DS1 gave her an Alice in Wonderland teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl for Christmas 2019 and I saw this in the January sales. Thought it was too expensive and left it. went back later in the week and it had been further reduced and there was only one left. knew I'd put it away and asked DS3 to look for it last year with no joy. Also found a pattern for a piece of embroidery I'm part way through (designed to look like a piece of lace so improvising could make it look clumsy). Thought it had been thrown away.
Some pretty toilet rolls in my wardrobe which can be added to the food bank things. Have jotted lots of things down as they occurred to me - will separate them into to do's (maybe one for each house), things to buy and reminders. Calling that 36 for today, running total 362/ 2021.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -

Hi to all and hugs to those who need them.
I have been away for a few days and I have returned to 75 posts. I will catch up in a while no doubt.
My pre Christmas visits to family are all done. I have travelled to Blackpool, then the New Forest, to Porstmouth then Salsbury since Sunday. Its been a bit full on. My brother had a what looked like stroke while I was there, he is recovered now but his BP was through the roof. I helped DNiece with a frog and DNephews wife with some of hers.
Hoarder sister gave me 6 bags to get rid of/ sell but I did give away two bags of clothes and some books so all good.
When I had moments on my own in the evenings at my various bnbs I did some thinking and planning to get my head round clearing and keeping on top of the house in the coming year. The things in my head are running on about 8 strands of concern. This includes house, garden, family and finance. My plan breaks all of them to one small job at a time, some to be done over winter and some a year long project (decluttering for one). As someone who gets overwhelmed periodically I find I recenter myself when I have written all the things that are in there down
What amazing timing @vulpix re tree.
@mothernerd looks like you have been of fire.
@balabooberlies: r.e. clothes. Some of the bigger stores give vouchers for used clothes and I believe oxfam does something too. Give a voucher for MandS clothes. Here is a link to getting rid of clothes from MSE earlier this year: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/team-blog/2019/10/the-top-clothes-flogging-sites/

I'm planning a bit more decluttering today... one benefit of having someone in to decorate for me meant I had to pack everything away and it is all getting a good consideration when unpacking! I've started a charity shop box for bric-a-brac and always have an ongoing bag for clothes.
