Wishing you a happy belated birthday Mrs SD.It sounds like you had a lovely time.Finstickle that is an excellent transformation.Well Mr V had an extreme solution to sorting out the big shed. He hurt his ribs and as the day went on got more breathless and is now in hospital. Not before the shed was emptied. 😂
They are still testing so I am waiting for a call.Vx:8 -

@Mrs SD, belated happy birthday. As it happens it was one of my friend's birthday yesterday as well and we met for lunch today and very nice it was too so money decluttered
I ran around sweeping up leaves when I got home. Our road has lovely London planes and I wouldn't be without them but even though I don't have a tree right outside my house I seem to collect about 5 trees worth of leaves in the garden and on the pavement between my garden wall and the car. I also emptied all the bins in the house as it is bin day tomorrow.
@vulpix, I hope Mr V is ok, sounds very scary. Hugs
Take care everyone8 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
I did absolutely nothing all day 😔 DSis went out to P.O. to return some clothes & then on to sm. Dinner was chicken & mushroom slice & baked beans for DSis whilst DH & I had beans on toast with fried eggs on top.

Vulpix - Very sorry to hear that Mr V is in hospital. Wishing him all the best for a speedy recovery. I must commend his devotion to duty.Mrs SD - Belated birthday wishes. It sounds like you had a lovely day - the birthday cake looked delicious. The magnetic board sounds like a great idea it will be really nice to have a good place to display your collection.I was away this weekend - hence the delay in posting. I was on a craft workshop which was really good. It's over 2 years ago that I booked it and it was delayed a year due to covid but it was well worth the wait.Bathroom fully decluttered and cleaned, still working on the kitchen - now going through the food cupboards and giving them a good clean - I seem to have had issues with a leaking bag of sugar which as it is a tall (floor to ceiling cuboard with many shelves has got everywhere). Found a few bits that need eating up too so will make plans to use those bits up.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons8

Lol only half my last post is there – it sounds like a huge holiday brag. I managed to chop off the monologue pontificating about how much space there is to let new things in when you start letting go of the old 🤦♀️😂😂
Back to decluttering – I’ve made a start on the box of food that ‘wouldn’t be my first choice in a siege’ - yesterday I had canned hotdogs for lunch and condensed mushroom soup for tea! Today I am rectifying the assault on my tastebuds and gastric system by making celery soup in a flask with my 10p celery, and eggs Florentine with my 10p spinach 😋My Iceland order was messed up because the two boxes of cat food I’d ordered were out of stock. I’ve managed to get a delivery slot with Tesco. I hate having to do a minimum shop at £40 and still pay £2 delivery but I have to keep reminding myself that it’s cheaper than a taxi. I’ve topped up the order with some bleach and some floor cleaner, tea, coffee, long life milk and cans that I actually will eat. I’m fairly stocked up for the winter now. I just need to do a little more research on getting a smart meter.
And my PIP form. I know I spoke to someone last week but can’t remember what we said🤦♀️9 -
Vascodakarma - I was going to warn you about visiting Iceland - but it looks like I am too late. Some years ago after many years saying that we would like to go to Iceland but that it was too expensive we decided to bite the bullet and do the one and only trip to Iceland. We planned it and stayed in cheap accomodation and it was a great holiday. I was going to warn you that the one trip to Iceland idea might not work as we have since been 3 more times! It looks like you already have a second trip planned though.
We have been to Iceland in the winter - Icelandair used to do some quite reasonable deals then including hotel (upgrade from our usual accomodation) (it was before the cheaper airlines started flying there). We went in early February and didn't find the darkness a problem. It can be cold - not so noticable in Reykjavik but we did notice out int the countryside one day when it was wiindy. In winter it was quite a bit cheaper to hire a car so we did hire a card for a couple of days so were able to get to some places not on the regular bus tours as the ones that were running in winter we had alreay been to on our previous summer trip. If you have not been before then you will find plenty to do and there are bus tours doing the golden circle route (gulfoss, geysir etc.) and along the south coast in the winter. The usual busses from the airport to Reykjvik and back you can prebook to visit the blue lagoon on the way. Yes it is very touristy but to relax in a warm lake in the winter sounds to me like a great plan. You may want a woolly hat.
There is a nice art deco type public swimming pool in central Reykjavik which has outdoor hot tubs called Sundholler which i have been to in the winter. I'm not sure if the outdoor pool was open (I only went in the indoor one (I hadn't realised there was an outdoor one until I checked the website)) but it was nice to sit in the outdoor hot tubs in the evening (it was just snowing). I have been to the one at Laugardalslaug (which is near the campsite and youth hostel -- there is a bus) which is big and has gret facilities. I am not sure how much of the outdoor pools are open in the winter but I'm sure where you are staying would be able to tell you. The different outdoor pools are at different temperatures so are pleasant to swim or lounge in as desired. The icelandic swimming pools are good and very reasonable. If you do go to Husavik I think you will enjoy it - the north is a lot quieter than the south. I can recommend the whale watching trip from Husavik - it was great. It sounds like you have some great trips planned. :-)However look on the bright side - in my experience Iceland is cheaper than Norway!

Good Morning,
Thank you for all the good wishes for Mr V. He is still asleep ,we got in at 3am. Luckily it is bruised ribs (shed tidying accident) and a nasty chest infection from his horrid cold last week. I wouldn't normally trouble A&E but after Liverpool Ann's experience and the fact that Mr V had a DVT a couple of years ago... He has steroids and antibiotics so should be decluttering fit very soon.
Some numbers from yesterday. Things given away on FB, tip and sold.
782. Pine dressing table
783. pieces of worktop from the old studio
785. 2 oak cupboards that I was going to repurpose ,but can't be bothered
786. almost new under counter fridge
787. large bottle holder from current fridge which takes up half the room in it
788. tool chest
Pounds gained £1,763

@vulpix, so glad Mr V is on the mend, I must admit I normally wouldn't bother with A&E either but the experience of the last few weeks has made me think, and has been a wake up call to OH about taking health issues more seriously.
@Mrs SD I do have a leaf mould cage but have never thought to grow potatoes in it. I will have to investigate this, I just use the leaf mould around the garden. Tbh though the amount of leaves we get would fill it many times, I was literally ankle deep when I stepped out the door. I can join Vulpix in posting you a few bin bags full and it wouldn't noticeable reduce the amount.
Take care everyone10
