Bala xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx we are always here.
Hello acidentalglixch, I have somehow missed you joining. I use my phone and laptop and have managed to miss a few pages. A great deal can happen here in a few pages. Jump aboard and enjoy the camaraderie
I have been awol for a few days. Nottingham and Bury were visited and friends caught up with. More Christmas and Birthday shopping done and wrapped, and some hand cream for the Christmas appeal in Sheffield. We also bought some wicker under bed storage boxes with lids. New to us obv!
Today I will move the shoes from my wardrobe into under bed boxes so my clothes can hang better. I have shoes and matching evening bags that I have not worn for years. I keep them in boxes in the hope of going on a cruise, or even going out somewhere fancy again.
I also have some costume jewellery saved for if we ever go out fancy again. A great deal of my jewellery I have sold for scrap or car booted it. The only real jewellery I have these days is a watch and SOME engagement rings.I do wear jewellery and change it with my outfit even to go shopping. I used to wear makeup and nail varnish too but don't bother very often now. I always wear perfume though.
I was given some slippers which were not me at all and that made me remember some Mr V was given some as a joke when he was 60. Why did they ever even move here with us? Not even his size! I took both pairs to a local community chazzer when I was in Nottingham.
I have half done a frog. Knitting the neck on a jumper. Have undone it twice!
977. 2 pairs of slippers

Bala many hugs winging their way to you. Please look after yourself. 🧡Vasco enjoy your time travelling and doing what you need to do for yourself.Hello to any new posters that I may have missed and hope everyone is ok(ish) and in fine fettle. My hug bucket is replenished, so help yourself if you are in need.I didn't get on here yesterday as I was side tracked into finishing my jigsaw, well almost as there is just a very small part to finish today and I have a new one ready and waiting in the wings 😊Yesterday my halogen oven finally gave up the ghost, well it lasted about another 12 months after DH fixed it. Anyway my Dad kindly gave me his, it was brand new and still in it's box. He only bought one ( at least 4 years ago ) because lots of people have one 🤔 but he's never used it. It's not as well made as my old one but will do in the interim. So out goes the old one except the bowl, I'm sure I can find a use for that even if it's in the garden as a pond ...... or maybe I'll put a goldfish in it and keep it indoors 🤣 In the bin went the polystyrene and any other bits I can't recycle. Also into the recycling the new now broken down box and 3 cardboard envelopes from deliveries of miniature stuff, DH is making some horse stables for DGD for Xmas as she's now into anything horsey 🐎 I've also disposed of a very, very old camcorder belonging to my Dad, think those shoulder types that the news people use 😮. I have left a bag of wires and stuff belonging to the camcorder for DH to sort through. However I did give Dad the bag back, but I'm not sure he will use it for anything, I suggested for carrying some shopping 🛒 as it's rather large !I have a pleasant frog to deal with this afternoon, mustn't put it off any longer. I want to finish ordering the rest of DGD's presents, then most of her main ones will be done.Take care allnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

Its not a flat share it's just a tiny house.
It looks like the house was one and then eventually was split into two.
Me & hubs had a slight barney at where / how many labels to put on. I want 3 - 1 on top, one on the longer side of the box and one on the shorter side - so you can easily see it. HE said just one label on top...i argued saying we wouldn't be able o find things easily like that. he was like "we only need one , put it on top" "But you won't see it & you'll spend forever looking for a box" "we'll have more time to search through stuff once we're there anyway its for us now to know what room to put it in"
sooo... if his plan doesn't go smoothly , it's not MY fault lol. I did warn him

Accidentalglixch, can you put a small coloured sticker on the long and short sides? You use 1 colour per room (green for the kitchen, blue for the living room, etc). It won't give you the contents, but at least an idea of where the box should go and what it might contain.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5911

Accidentalglitch obviously you are right about labelling your moving boxes 3 times ,because it's my method too
I use taff's suggestion of permanent marker. I just write Kitchen or ornaments etc. I am a fairly frequent house mover! Banana boxes are my favourite moving box as they are sturdy, not too heavy when full and easy to stack, and free. (still not found the mice family)
EnergyShifter fantastic news about your son's progress.xxx
I filled the under bed storage boxes with shoes and hung my clothes properly in the wardrobe. Unfortunately there is no room for Mr V's shoes in the storage boxes. he doesn't have as many as me though or as many clothes so they are ok in his wardrobe.
Today is the day. We are going to empty the BIG shed. TBH the stuff has only been in there since July so it can't be that bad can it?

Sunday was a dry but chilly day. It was also my birthday 🥳 I received 8 cards in total. A pop up 3D one from my DSis - a hummingbird - beautiful 😻 + DH rather distressed to learn that he bought me the same card as last year 😉 I didn’t have a problem as it is a great card 👏🙂 All my birthday presents from DH were early this year - flowers, theatre trip & new personal CD player 👏🙂 DSis gave me a box of chocolate eclairs & a beautiful skirt
+ she made me a chocolate coconut cake
Dinner was steak (cooked by DH) with oven chips, roasted mushrooms & tomatoes, fried onions & peas 🤤 I added Lo tomatoes, onions & peas to the hm soup which although hearty was rather bland.
I had a lovely day & will come back later to cheerlead 😉
