1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Tuesday was another dry bright day. DH took the Goldwing to have a service & MOT. The garage is miles away but gives him the opportunity to get a hair cut & have an all day breakfast 😉 Unfortunately one of the mechanics got pinged & had to leave so DH’s bike had to stay in the workshop overnight & he came home by train, tube & DLR 😔 I started on a few frogs - 1) 3 x 10 minute sessions of clearing moss & weeds from the front path 2) resumed transferring recipes to new notebook 3) dealt with 3 days paperwork, shredding, filing etc. Dinner was cottage pie mix from freezer topped with cheesy mash & peas.
Wednesday is a dull, dark & damp day 😔☹️ DH went & picked up the motorbike but decided against having a breakfast. Now MOTed & no advisories 🥳 We finished the last of the hm soup for lunch. I have done nothing apart from clear down TV programmes from the planner 😔
2093 - 2097 Kitchen recycling, cardboard packaging, cardboard box, handful of paper recycling, plastic bottle - recycled
2098 - 2099 Kitchen detritus, handful of shredding - binned
skogar, thanks for the birthday wishes 👏 I have decided that the magnetic board will be hung in our bedroom when the decorating is done 🙂 Will probably need a couple more boards as my collection of magnets is rather large 😉 Sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed the craft workshop 🙂👏 Excellent decluttering & cleaning 👏 Sounds like Iceland is a home away from home 😁 Thank you for sharing such lovely memories & ideas 👏
Vascodakarma, “Lol only half my last post is there – it sounds like a huge holiday brag. I managed to chop off the monologue pontificating about how much space there is to let new things in when you start letting go of the old 🤦♀️😂😂” Never looked on your previous post as bragging 😁 just a confirmation that you are grabbing life experiences with joy borne out by the above observation that went awol 😉 You have worked hard to regain control of your life 👏 You sound so much happier 🙂 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 🙂 Your post about your hotel etc is getting me very excited about your Christmas trip to Iceland 😉 - it sounds like you are going to pack in a lot of adventures 👏 🙂
vulpix, so pleased that MrV is home & resting 🙂 You obviously worked him too hard 🙃😉😉 only joking - glad it is “only” bruised ribs. Great decluttering 👏 Very generous offer of leaves 😉 No wonder you are evangelical about breast screening vulpix. I agree the NHS is an absolute godsend 👏 but sadly the management leaves something to be desired 😔 The shed decluttering seems to be going very well 👏 at this rate you will have nothing to put back in 😉 I must admit I love the colours as well - makes a change from my usual black & dark blue 😉 Good luck with the Christmas decorations 🤞 Beautiful items as reminders of your dad. One medal 🏅 on its way for releasing the pine cupboard doors to a new life 🙂👏
Lovely post Liverpool_Anne 👏 Can’t remember which thread the idea of growing potatoes in a leaf mould cage came from 😔 but seemed like a great idea 🙂 If I had space I would take you up on the offer of bags of leaves 😉 Great idea re the ties 👏 I have to say that I do love the back & forth conversations - feels like normal life - a group of friends sitting around chatting & enjoying a glass or 2 😉
Back later as need to charge iPad 😔

Thank you for my medal Mrs SD. I agree that we are now just friends chatting, I love it. So many interesting things are shared here.
Mr V is better than he has been for a couple of weeks. I will soon be cracking the whip again!
The big shed is now empty enough to fit in the kit from the lock up. I do however have a few things listed to be given away in the sitting room. Hope they go soon.
Well you can all sleep soundly tonight. I have found the mice. I have plans for them to go on the wall on the stairs. On my to do list for Monday.
The pantry is emptied once more into the kitchen. I have condensed 3 boxes of toys into 2 and will take them to store in my Mum's spare room. When we have had a new non leaking roof I will put all the toys in our loft.
Tomorrow I will continue to try to condense the boxes and pack them back in the pantry. I will keep the Christmas trees for now.
Hugs Granny Kate. My eldest daughter and I also like to go places in December for the atmosphere. We sometimes let other people come with us.My favourite is Germany. They do Christmas well.

@bit_by_bit, feel free, I have used tree decorations to make quite a few Christmas things with the pupils in school, table centre decorations, wreaths, stuck on cheap photo frames with a photo of the pupil as a present for parents etc.wrapped around candle sticks. I am lucky in that the pupils also usually like shiny things
I am now retired and this will be the first Christmas away from school for quite a few years so I will have to satisfy myself with jjust doing it at home
@vulpix I have also broken down artificial Christmas trees to use the branches/ leaves for things like wreaths etc.I love to recycle stuff like that
I also love the chat and feel just like I am sharing things with friends. Thank you Mrs SD for this thread, it is a lovely place to be
Take care everyone6 -

DH cooked dinner - cheesy pasta 🤤 I have wudupa.Back to cheerleading 🙂
Thanks for the birthday wishes, wort 👏EnergyShifter, I’m in full agreement - it gets dark way too early ☹️ Well done for getting walks into your daily routine 👏 & good work on the decluttering 👏 Fingers crossed thatyour eye is OK 🤞 Good news that a telephone call & a trip to the opticians has resolved the issue with your eye 🙂florianatwobob, I am sure you will come up with a novel & interesting way to display your dad’s ties 🙂 & hopefully without having to cut them up 🤞The Christmas Fairy sounds beautiful 😻 & is almost old enough to get a free Oyster Card 😉Almost there TC77 👏 I am polishing the gold star ready to send 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 1997 + 19 = 2016 🙂 I rather like the idea that decluttering is good for our sanity 😉😂Great work short_bird 👏 I have been remiss - one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for reaching your target 🙂👏 You are definitely motoring along with your decluttering 🤩
What a great idea for the ties, ThriftyTaylor 🏅
Another great idea for the ties, -taff 🏅
GrannyKate, what an absolutely marvellous fixture in your calendar 🙂👏 You & your DD are real globetrotters 🤩 Sadly I can only tick off France, Germany, Iceland & Prague from your list ☹️ I love that you get a Christmas bauble from each of the places you visit - I imagine you must have some really stunning baubles which each bring back beautiful memories when they are all on your trees 🌲😁 A real talking point 🙂
What a lovely chatty post bit_by_bit 👏🙂 & thank you for my birthday wishes 👏 You have worked very hard on your decluttering as evidenced by the fact that you can accommodate your MiL’s wool stock 🏅& how lovely very that you don’t have to spend any money to complete your project 🙂👏 Sounds like the Room of Doom is coming along nicely 👏
Nice to see you nannywindow 👋 At least you have put out your CS bag 👏 I still have 2 bags to deliver 😔 Rather pleased that we don’t do Christmas (apart from a nice meal) as I dislike shopping at the best of times without the added crowds at Christmas 😣 There is enough stress without the anxiety of crowds of shoppers 😣
😡 to both O*pen reach & your drive man 😡 I am rather impressed that you are still trying to get both sorted 🏅Lots of good news to hopefully balance out the bad news - winter fuel payment, booster jabs, 2 coats that fit because you have decluttered some weight 👏 I absolutely love the vision of you giving the faux fur coat collar a wash & blow dry 😂
You are welcome accidentalglixch 🙂 Very pleased that the wardrobe sort out went well 👏 You also had a major breakthrough - releasing items that were handmade 👏 - I still struggle with that type of decluttering 😔 You can be very proud & I am awarding you a medal 🏅 Pleased to hear that your husband had a great birthday 🙂 Hopefully your nerves will settle once you are in your new home 🤞You must be getting excited as well 🙂 especially as you are doing so well decluttering 👏
Thanks for the birthday wishes HappyKitties 👏 The cake tastes as good as it looks 🤤 Excellent decluttering 👏 creating lots of space & saving your waistline 😉👏
vulpix, just friends chatting - it does have a nice ring to it & as you say, so many interesting stories 🙂 Very pleased to hear that MrV is on the mend 👏 try not to work him too hard when he is fully fit 😉 Is there anyone else who could lend a hand/some muscle whilst MrV is recuperating? Hope you can post a pic when your mice are in situ 🙏 🙂 Great work on all the condensing 👏
Our vegetable box has just been delivered - potatoes, sweet potatoes, celeriac, little gem lettuces, lots of carrots, red peppers, spinach & cabbage. All put away appropriately 🙂 Hope you like the following pictureMrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 2099/2021

Hugs to Grannykate
Florianatwobob a lot of people get teddies or other patchwork items made from loved ones clothing . I have seen on fb. If you are crafty you maybe could try yourself if you prefer.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.11 -
I work full time but also have sewing business I do from home. I am often asked to make memory bears for people. Currently have 4 to make for my cousin's wife, to give her children & nephews for the December celebration.
Thank you for my medal Mrs SD!Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Mrs SD, he looks like a Harry Potter screaming Mandrake.
I don't have anyone nearby to call upon for help with stuff. I have made all the kids so independent that they all live miles away. Haha. Good for them, they need to be off having exciting and fulfilling lives, like I was in my youth. I am dreadful at asking for help in general.
I have woken up, well was woken up by the 4am cat alarm, feeling like I could release one of the Christmas trees. I have been hand sewing for the last few hours, working on the Moravian star. I always have some sort of make on the go. I like making things but don't want a house full of stuff I have made. I am always happy to find it a good home. I remembered that I have quite a few of my makes in with the Christmas stuff that I could put on our craft club village Christmas fair stall. Tree skirts, table runner etc. I also like to make something from nothing and repurpose lots of things. My role as a Teaching Assistant evolved to be almost entirely art and craft, cooking, drama and English. Play to your strengths eh. I worked with some fab teachers who encouraged me to have a free rein.
Sorry this isn't what I came here to say, only intended to post about the celeriac.

MrsSD thanks for my medal. That picture looks rather scary 😱 and I agree with Vulpix, a screaming mandrake. We do make a fuss of the children at xmas. DH loves it too and has to have all the trimmings, DD used to make fun of our house and it was called Santa's Grotto 🤣 Since he's not well these days I am keeping the decorations to a more sensible level rather than 😱 everywhere you look.I had another run in with my Dad yesterday and I'm sad that I lost my temper, I'm normally yes sir, no sir with him, so can I temporarily declutter him ? I have to ring him later so I am expecting round 2 as he's got himself in a pickle and it's everyone's fault bar his. Right I'm off to clean out the fridge before I have a sm delivery.Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8

Lots of lovely chat over the last couple of days, it is nice to come on and see what people are up to and how they're getting on.
The benefit of DH's new workshop is continuing as he has finally removed all of his stuff from the utilitywhere the garage used to leak lots of stuff was inside but now all making its way back out!! Claiming 2, one for each sideboard he's cleared.
Like you Vulpix I like to make and repurpose, last night I finished making 2 draft excluders for the doors we're yet to replace.
2 tops from my "they'll get used for something pile" and a blanket which was from the CS last year (used to make DD's Little Red Riding Hood cape for World Book Day) used to make the outers and then stuffed with the current contents of the material recycling bag - only non reused item was the thread.
- and when we do replace the doors, the draft excluders can all still go in the material recycling having had some extra use first
and another babygrow sold and sent
All these things are making me very happy at the moment!
(especially as having made the draught excluders I can get back to the quilt I'm currently working on - I always feel guilty if there's house jobs to do as DH works long hours (he runs his own business) and does so much DIY that I feel like I should do more. Although I do try and remind myself we're all different with different needs etc and his work actually ticks alot of the boxes I get from crafting etc.
