@accidentalglixch, congratulations on the move
. Just a note on the koi, they are very expensive fish and if you have plans to get rid of them you should be able to sell them. The bigger and more unusual the markings the more they cost. I hope you are very happy in your new home

@accidentalglixch enjoy your new home and new pets.
Well done Mini Bit by bit. Enjoy Manchester.
I have decided to donate stuff to a cat charity shop today.

Thanks, Mrs SD for my gold star and for the lovely positive comments. You are doing a grand job and I and everyone else really appreciate your support and guidance. It was quite a long haul to the total, but that is because so much has already been decluttered. Much still remains - the room of doom is now reduced to the chest of drawers of doom and the hall cupboard of doom. Skogar, thank you too , much appreciated - a personal comment always helps to motivate to keep on going. We are not alone as I have learned during the pandemic when it is a great comfort to have you all to talk to.
1 pile of paper to recyc. - some work on the files done this am.
2 books- I am trying to stop the CS purchases, but I am still buying books. My local CS now has them at 5 for a euro, which is hard to resist. But most go to a good home after being read. Some I put buy to sell to a dealer here.
2 ornaments to CS.
total = 5 + 5 = 10/365
Hugs for everyone and keep safe.7 -

Friday was another damp, dreary & dark day ☹️ DH watched MotoGP practices, DSis still feeling unwell so spent the whole day in her room. I finished the drying & folding of all the washing. My Friday frog was dealing with clothing repairs 1) repaired a small ladder in the jumper that I had bought from cs - just under one armpit 2) tidied up & strengthened the hem of a pair of DH’s painting trousers and 3) the one I am proudest of 🙂 was patching a large hole in my camouflage trousers - near the hem on one leg. I used a logo cut from an ancient t-shirt which brings back happy memories of our New Zealand holiday 🙂
Inside
Outside
Dinner for DH & me was lo cheesy pasta with added cheese & sliced tomatoes baked in oven. DSis had chicken soup. Wudupa.
Saturday is another dreary day. I am about to have a bath & wash my hair. Then DH & I are going to Kent (on the bike). Overnight at his niece’s place & then Sunday lunch in a pub for DSisIL’s 80th birthday 🥳
2106 - 2107 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box - recycled
2108 Kitchen detritus - binned
Liverpool_Anne congratulations on the quick decision re flooring 👏 one medal 🏅 coming your way 🙂 Sounds like a lot of work 🤩 but if anyone can do it, you can 🙂 I did grin 😁 at the reason for not watching Stacey 😂 I take it you will leave the new kitchen until next year 😉 & bask in the glow of all the hard work for at least a few weeks 😉🙂
Decided to have my bath, sort packing & come back to continue cheerleading 😉

The decluttering feeling was upon us (my sister and me) yesterday so the wardrobes were hauled out and various bits sorted for charity to the total of two carrier bags. They’ll go off to charity tomorrow when we head into town for some bits.We’ve also had a sort and rearrange of one of the sheds where things have been bunged due to inclement weather. We can now walk in there without ‘tiptoeing through the tulips’….quite literally as I found some tulip bulbs that need planting!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Had my bath & am just drip drying but have selected my clothes & sorted the wash bag 🙂 for the lunch (borrowed a t-shirt from DH as never went out to buy a suitable top to match my new skirt 😔) Back to cheerleading
Wow florianatwobob 🤩 that was a huge amount of work 👏 One job leading to another to another to another 😱 I think we all forget that a ‘simple’ decision to have a new kitchen involves so much extra work but I will bet your kitchen is stunning 🤩 Always nice when the declutter fairy visits 😂 especially when there are 2 of you 👏 My hurried hunt for a suitable top to wear to tomorrow’s luncheon has resulted in a complete mess in my wardrobe which now needs to be sorted 😔 but I will take heart from your success 👏
You are welcome bit_by_bit. Sorry you have had to cancel your newly revived social life ☹️ but as you say you can get on with the RofD 😉 A bit of a pain having to reorder the C-Test. Hope you don’t have any more pain in the backside buyers 🤞Congratulations to your DD on her new job 🥳 being nosy, may I ask when she is starting?
Good work villagelife 👏
vulpix “These house updates have the domino effect. To do one thing another has to be done first etc,etc.” SO TRUE and succinctly put 👏 What an excellent post and so interesting 🙂 A huge amount of work but so much to look forward to 🙂 This is the perfect place to clarify your thoughts & plans. We can cheer you on at each completed stage & offer encouragement if things become a challenge. So excited for you 🙂 Good decluttering 👏
Great work short_bird 👏
Good luck with the stain removal TC77 🤞 Pleased to see that you are noticing a difference after all your decluttering 👏 Every single item out is a win leading to a calmer & less stressful existence 👏 New target noted 😉

Hi lovely people, It is so nice to catch up on how well everyone is doing. I sometimes save my reading of thread to when I have more time. I doubt we would stick at it without you Mrs SD. You do make a difference to us all. I hope we do to you too.
When I was getting dressed today I couldn't find the trousers I wanted so emptied almost all my clothes out like you Mrs SD. I kept some things out that I had forgotten about and will try them on. Also kept out clothes to pack for next weekend when we go away. I added a velour top to the charity shop bag .If I wear a coat with it it rides up, Velcro like. Trousers were on the spare room radiator !
It would have been rude not to browse at the cat sanctuary charity shop where I took some donations. BNWT Alexon wrap around cardigan in teal £3 tag says £59.99. Just what you need to go with your new skirt Mrs SD. £1 each motorbike tee for Mr V, Ellesse hoody for DD2,Lovely white beaded scarf for me and a vintage tweed wool kilt in browns. I will unpick it and make it into a throw with the gold velvet offcuts from the door curtains.
My target was 365 this year as I thought I had decluttered most things the previous 2 years. I then in my head increased it to 2 items a day and 730. Now I am aiming for 3 things a day and 1095. I am amazed that I can still find things to go. You would expect the house to be minimal but it isn't!
Feeling accomplished today. Donations dropped off, shoe box appeal dropped off and some packing bags dropped off at DD1's.

@vulpix - Sounds like you've had some great bargains & found lovely stuff for everyone.
Well done with pushing yourself to 3 items a day... Such an amazing goal to have. By the way, thank you for the well wishes.
I didn't realise how expensive Koi were to buy so will defo give them the utmost care - husband just looked up how much some of them are super expensive. My nan, Grandad & dad was amazed with them & pond.
My sister wants to name them all - said she can try...there's a few unique ones though my dad had first dib.
He called a 'ghost' Koi Nicolas Cage since he played Ghost rider
@short_bird hope you are feeling better today after the flu jab, I had mine done next day felt awful
Great job with the decluttering ! Reminds me to clear out all my emails and digital stuff.
We took over some more stuff to the house today. First run, me and my mum stayed behind to pack up last bit of the kitchen. throughout the day, I decluttered another 20 items.
so total is 83 , i don't have a goal but I want to declutter as much as I can. Some stuff we'd have to go through at the new place which is fine.
We have sooooooo much storage we're lost tbh.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger
Yeah defo party time!!! though can't drink alcohol so will need to find a 'special' drink to celebrate with lol (Medication not because I'm pregnant or anything...yet) - as above, we just looked at how expensive some of them are, if they are that type of Koi... just blown away with the fact they left the fish since they cost a lot.
Thank you - I do sometimes rant on especially when excited. Just hit the jackpot with this house. My mum nudge me when we were packing up the kitchen and said "your first home...its such a lovely place" and then almost started welling up... so nice to see her happy.
we'd / I'd like to make the house really relaxing and inviting to everyone but especially for our parents to enjoy somewhere where they can relax, chill & have a good time.
I hope to share more pictures once we have the furniture moved in & things sorted it out.
I really appreciate how motivating & welcoming you all are.
