@accidentalglixch, I only know about the koi because my neighbour had some. He lost a few to the local heron so glad to see you already have a net on the top of the pond. He also told me that all his baby fish were eaten by the bigger fish
so he had to set up a nursery pond and keep the babies in that. When he moved he sold most of them as he didn't have a pond at his new house and just left about 6 in the pond for the new owners. When they had their first child they decided to remove the pond and sold the rest of them. They got quite a bit of money for them as they were quite big by then. They are nice to sit and watch though

@Mrs SD, oh the kitchen is a whole world of problems, I need the outside wall repointing as we seem to be having a damp issue, it has been checked by the plumber but definitely not a leaking pipe etc. Then all the plaster will have to be taken back to the brick on 2 walls, before we can sort it. I find part of the problem is actually getting someone to come and do the work. I seem to spend hours trying to get people to even answer the phone. My neighbour has recently had a a small extension started, 11 weeks on and it's still not finished. Initially the builders were here every day but I haven't seen them for about a week now and as far as I can see they only need the doors fitting now but the builders seem to have moved on to another job. I must admit if it were me I would be losing the plot with them as they have no door to the rest of the house either so they just have a bit of ply fixed up and no access to the garden etc. I will keep trying to at least get the pointing done but everything else will probably wait till I have a bit more energy
Take care everyone9 -
Morning MrsSD and fellow declutterers, well it's around two months ago since I was last on this forum, and the page no read '384'. This morning I have logged back in and it's now at '466'. Am now coming back onto the decluttering and cleaning charabanc if that's ok with you MrsSD 😉 I have been pottering around a lot without doing anything significant on the decluttering side of things. Made green chilli jam, grown and ripened squash from our nearest planter and decluttered a 1.2kg pumpkin over the Halloween weekend over three meals 😉 but events yesterday made me think I have done good on the decluttering front. I helped my auntie who is 83 declutter and empty out completely a rotting outdoor shed. Two trips to the tip in two cars, so four car boot loads of junk interspersed with all sorts of weird and wonderful things. In the shed was a full tea service, cool box, gardening books, seed storage box, loft insulation, Christmas lights, hanging garden brackets along with other oddments. Arrived at 10a.m, left at 4.45p.m, felt pleased that it was a job well done. I didn't have to to much pushing with my auntie either, just offered her support and she decided what was going where. It's likely that we will be working on clearing out, decluttering and sorting out her two greenhouses over the winter months. Which works well for both of us. She is a lovely lady, her mind is still very sharp, but she doesn't realise sometimes that some things are more challenging to accomplish than perhaps they were a number of years ago. As for me and my family, am plodding on. My daughter is ok, due another tidy up on her wood bookcase which has developed a serious looking lean. It has too many books and magazines in there, so it needs some TLC. My wife is struggling with depression and anxiety, with lack of motivation proving to be a thorn in her side, which becomes more apparent over the autumn and winter months, but she's keeping going. Hopefully I'll post back on here soon with more decluttering and cleaning tales, and not leave it another two months to do so. Cheers 🙂9

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Saturday we loaded the bike & left home about 15:20, good journey & arrived 16:33. No rain although a bit chilly. However a warm welcome & a hot drink soon sorted that out. We are staying with DH’s niece & her husband.
Oops need to get ready for the luncheon so will be back later.

Hello all. Not had a great week at all but have distracted myself with a partial ‘second sweep’
1travel bag which has been replaced with very practical, light-weight rucksack which will last the rest of my life- it’s a better than halfprice offer from one of the camping websites.
2 superfluous cushions
1 Banksy print
1 hideous, huge dish a friend brought me back from Tunisia in the late 90’s
8 items of clothing which hang off me and can’t be altered.6 kitchen utensils I wasn’t sure about last time
One secondhand waterproof men’s jacket – now replaced with a waterproof windproof thermal insulated ladies jacket - did I mention the better than half price sale on the camping websites at the moment 😂😂
5 bras - who am I kidding! I’ll never be a 32A again 😂😂
2 teddy bears
1 box of Christmas decorations
All to the charity shop 😃11 -
Hello all from a sunny Wales ! Hugs to anyone in need and congrats to Accidental on the house move ( sorry can't remember your full title ) Must be very exciting 🏡 🎉Not decluttered much lately except daily stuff but yesterday I decluttered 7 loads of washing for DD 😱. Her wm had died half way through a wash and the new one won't be there till next Sat. She also killed the dw on the same day 🤨 Luckily though her Td is still in tact, big Phew !! After the mammoth session DD, along with our DGC and dog in tow, arrived to collect the last 2 loads and stayed for tea. We had a great time and I got a 10/10 for my hot dogs from DGS, seems he's now a connoisseur 🌭🤣 Apparently if all is well they have booked themselves in here for Boxing day and then overnight too, we were also informed by the DGC that they need to stay here New Years eve night (even though DD and Sil never go out then) as they missed out last year 🛌🏽.... What !! Oh I wish everything in life were that simple to organise 🙄 We must be soft in the head or something 🤣Vasco I don't remember being a 32A... ever ! If I fell over I'd never break my nose 😂 Hope this week feels better for you.Right I've done my own washing, stripped our bed, washed the bedding and it is all drying on the line ( I'll have to frisk it when it comes in though as the leaves are falling thick and fast today and there's nothing worse than finding a scrunched up leaf in the bed 😬 ) I'm now off to declutter some more of my new jigsaw, it's a bit more difficult than the last one which I did in a week, great 👍🏽Take care allnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10

Afternoon all.
Randon question for those with mattress protectors - do you have one that you wash and put back on, or two that you swap around?
Sort out of the back porch this afternoon. Decluttered a ridiculous amount of cobwebs. Used some old bricks and decking to create a shelf for overwintering plants. Could have done with more bricks to give a bit more storage underneath but it’ll do for now.
Old coat gone to be recycled and homes found for everything that was on the floor,
Cupboard cleaned and sorted. Wooden mini greenhouse painted.Quite pleased with the end result although very little has actually left the building.ETA - did we decide how many gardening/diy T-shirts, sweatshirts and jeans are strictly necessary before I reveal how many are currently in place? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Well I still haven't had the results from the PCR covid test but have had two lateral flow tests clear so I went out last night to see a friend who gave me a load of stuff for the charity shop. That is all gone but not counted as it was in the house for five minutes. I did deliver two bags of mine to the CS tthough so I am counting those.
Still curbed otherwise. Not too much done on the RoD but did put some more stuff in the loft today and pulled out my winter quilt which was labelled and easy to find.
Cleared the downstairs, vacuumed and dampdusted in an hour. Just need to mop the floors. I had an epiphany with the vacuum cleaner which is a vtech one. I didn't buy it. DH did. Anyway the big head is rubbish at picking up off the carpet so today itried a smaller head and it worked perfectly. I even enjoyed doing it. Hi,
Bit by bit, I think that you are doing great in your enforced stay at home. I stay at home most days and do next to nothing!
Elisen, I wash and wear for the mattress protector and have 2 sets of garden/decorating clothes.
nannywindow, you must be a lovely nanny for them to want to be with you.
Nice to hear from you Leelad.
I am sure you had a lovely time with family Mrs SD.
Nothing to report, just been getting all my crafts ready for the 2 craft fairs coming up. I would have finished the Monravian star but too difficult with a cat on my lap.
