Thanks for the 🏅 MrsSD.
@TC77 we soak our stained stuff in a version of 'pnk stuff' for washing in the bath. Works every time.
A bit of a rollercoaster here. Two days ago I was told I had been in close contact with someone who has covid. I had to cancel all my social life etc. The test arrived yesterday but had a component missing so I have another coming today. I feel fine. Just ususal tiredness.
I saw this as an opportunity to get some sales online which then led to an idiot asking me to ist all my available 8 Stephen King books, then asked for them to be listed as a job lot. We agreed a price and now he/she has just ghosted me. So ticked off.
On a positive note, I have got a load of stuff selling online anyway.
In other news DD has got a job in Manchester that she really worked hard to get. So proud.
So seeing as I am not allowed to go anywhere I am going to divide the day between work ion the RoD and the garden weather permitting.

Good Morning folks, I hope you are all ok today.
These house updates have the domino effect. To do one thing another has to be done first etc, etc.
It would have made sense to update this house whilst it was empty but I never was one for doing things the easy way! New flooring will be a massive headache for me because there is nowhere to move furniture to. I am nowhere near the new flooring stage yet.
I would like to start at the top with the roof and work down. The place probably needs rewiring too as we have never done it in the 8 years we have owned the place. Mind, it was a rental so did have safety checks ,so it must be ok at the moment. Sockets are a rarity. Our bedroom has 1 double socket as does the kitchen, the sitting room has 2 but all on one side of the room. I watch these escape to the Chateau DIY programmes and think if they can do that then this should be easy. The whole cottage would fit into one chateau room! They never talk about plug sockets though do they?
My builder is presently building a barn conversion for someone but says he can only get half a weeks work in because of the weather, so that impacts on all jobs in the pipeline. My plumber has had a very nasty accident and will be out of action for a long time. My handyman's Mum has died so he is caught up with clearing her house etc and has a back log of jobs.
I think the only things that I could get on with are the the electrics . Thank you for indulging me, writing it down has cleared my mind.
Even the garden relies on building work first, drains and walls ,but beyond my walling capability. There are a couple of things that I could do myself, Take a section of stone wall down and dig out a stone built raised bed. Domino effect, where to store the stone which will be used in the future so that it wont be in the way of other ground work.
I have earmarked 20K to update this little house. It has increased in value massively in the time we have owned it so will not be money wasted. One day I hope to have it as a holiday let. It does not have beautiful views but it is very quiet and accessible to a national park and major cities. My friend had her Grandma's cottage as a holiday let. Not in a tourist honeypot village but she was booked 52 weeks of the year.
Sorry again guys, but thank you for letting me clear my mind a bit. Playing Tetris with stuff to get work done whilst you are living in a property is a challenge. I am soooo glad that I have managed to release so much. It would be overwhelming and never get done otherwise.

@vulpix and others thanks for the ideas - I am going to try strong stuff and see if stains come out - just amazed at softness.

Heya everyone hope you are all well and gentle hugs for those who are having a bit of a rough time.
we got the keys today!!!! 🔑 😁🎉
we got given a fancy bottle of wine from the estate agent with the keys lovingly tied with a beautiful ribbon.
We travelled to the new house just to check the state of it - was left exactly how we thought ... spotless. We did need to buy a small tube of wall paper paste to stick down some wallpaper that had started to lift from the bottom corners of the rooms but I was expecting that due to moving furniture which is no biggie at all for us
The couple we were buying from left us two wine glasses, a fancy bottle of Prosecco and a lovely new home card where they wrote " we hope this house brings you happiness as it did us for 39 uears. Good luck with the move" which made me cry because even thought we've never met face to face, they just sound so heartwarming humble and just so so lovely.
They've left us a ton of stuff;
23 Koi fish in the huge pond with their food (wish I was joking) , fancy light fixtures, the WiFi box with the passwords so I can work. I need a wired connection and the disconnection date isn't until 31st, I'm due back at work on 18th. They can't cancel until next year as virgin won't let them but they cannot get virgin service where they are now so allowed me to use their WiFi box until the disconnection date. The wardrobes, the bed side units, the vanity desk in the bedroom, the garden bench, net curtains, a few ornaments outside, a few potted plants...
I hope you enjoy a sneak peak from today below & me standing at back door - usually how residents enter property as parking is out the back of the house.
(Names scribbled for protection more so for hubs)I also did some Decluttering yesterday (not much due to Fibromyalgia kicking up in my back and ribs
About 20 more items / groups of items had been cleared out .
Tried to count all the things or grouped (like hair bands would go into a group not individually) = 68 things
since Monday... mor ein the back garden which I'll count later.
Today we did a little more decluttering in the bedroom before some family members came over to help us with fixing a burnt out plug socket. Haven't seen them in over a year due to covid.
Lovely that my husband is slowly allowing people to socialise with us , only imidiate family and friends as he was one that would not allow anyone over pretty much since it started last year apart from a few times where we went outside to spend time with them.
Sorry for long post just so excited and thankful for everything from everyone including here.🗑️Mission Declutter & Clean 2022🧼 - 105 Items
