Hello all, have been reading along as best I can but not much has stuck in the old noggin. I hope those who are poorly or have poorly family members get well soon and many hugs to all those who are having a difficult time.I haven't done much decluttering lately but I have managed to collect a full bag for the cs, which hopefully will be collected tomorrow. I can't remember every item in there but it was a rather eclectic mix. I added from DH and myself, several many hats, scarves and pairs of gloves. I didn't realise we had so many till I'd laid them all out, felt like I had emptied Mary Poppin's bag as they just kept coming 😱 anyway I hope they will help to keep someone warm this winter. Also 2 childrens melamine plates, some cd's and a couple of fiction books were squeezed in at the last minute.Today I had my flu jab, in and straight out and hardly stopping in between, blink and I'd have missed it 😂 Glad there was no queuing outside this year as today was to be the only day without rain ! I was out to lunch twice last week and I'm afraid I may have recluttered several lbs 🙄 but also decluttered some £'s too. Ah well swings and roundabouts. We have decided to have a new drive put in so lots of £'s will be decluttered, but I'll not count it as out until it's done and dusted, think it's going to be a messy job. Oh! forgot to add, out yesterday a full green waste bin and today I have binned a "solid" paint brush found in the shed while looking for gloss paint, thankfully the paint is ok so I shall be tackling some painting tomorrow and no need to buy a new pot. Also gone a chamois sponge past it's best and some Sunday socks.MrsSD hope your appointment went well even if you did have a soggy bottom 🤣Take care all, stay safe and dry.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

Unfortunately have had to declutter a fair bit of cash recently as the car has had a few problems and the heating needed a repair. Luckily lodger is still here, (and we seem to be getting on ok) the extra money has really taken the pressure off, though I'm not looking forward to gas and electric price rises at all. I've started on my cupboards again now, having had a lightbulb moment that if my cupboards are filled with stuff I never use, the stuff I do use will always be lying around getting in the way. Don't know why that took me so long. So a bag of too big clothes to the recycling centre, a box of tinned and jarred stuff I hoarded when we were all worried about brexit
to the food bank, and a pile of old towels and a rug to Ex for his new dog. Not a lot but enough space to put a case of summer clothes away for next year. I'd really like to redecorate the spare room before any Xmas guests but that isn't going to happen until it's a lot emptier.

I hope you all don't mind an old poster from a few years ago making an October guest appearance? Flylady's monthly challenge for October is paper clutter which is my nemesis and soooo boring. Then I remembered all of you lovely people on here and thought if you don't mind me reporting my really dull updates on here it might give me the oomph required to do all 31 days rather than just the first 3 days and then get bored and lose focus.
My rules/plan of attack:
1. 1 x 15 minute timer daily in October
2. Then it needs to be recycled or shredded but it can wait a while if I'm tired or tight for time that day.
3. Catching up a missed day or weekend is allowed - or take it with me if I go somewhere?
4. No beating myself up and stopping if it's not perfect.
5. Clutter gone is clutter gone and even a patchy effort is better than not starting!
6. If I run out of paper in the filing drawer during the month I can tackle any other decluttering after that.
7. I'll start at the back and do the harder section to reach first.8 -
@Wanna_Bee_Free welcome into here I'm sure you will do brilliantly.
Re the shredding I found a lady locally who uses it for some little animals that she has. Each time I have a bag ready I just let her know and she collects it.

Eri steady go nd Wanna-be-free, hello and welcome.
I have been awol for a little bit having a declutter of my job. Thank you Mrs SD and bit by bit for your heart-warming words of wisdom. They helped me see that I actually I am ok as a person and then see that I could avoid the whole drama completely. My boss has been totally lovely and would like me to return when the difficulty moves on. I feel light as a feather, not having the worry of someone's fragility on my conscience.
Which leads me onto weight loss. My aim was to declutter 14 pounds in the 14 weeks up to Christmas. I did put on 3lbs when I had Covid, just from inactivity and boredom. I will start to add to my pounds lost total when I am back to where I was pre Covid.13 weeks to go and 15 pounds to lose!
I have managed to declutter quite a bit whilst looking for craft things in the pantry.
decorative plate/dish broken
CD cupboard
7 storage jars
6 place mats
10 dinner plates so big they wouldn't fit in the cupboard
tray
hoover. cordless, pants
3 cat shaped cat dishes
Denby tea service for 10
duvet cover set.don't own a double bed
Klimnt wall hanging
new total 803
Pounds lost 27
Pounds gained £1,468

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Wednesday started overcast & windy but brightened up considerably with lots of sunshine but still very windy. DH filled the bird & squirrel feeders & did some work in the garage. I did an sm shop - needed a card & present for DH for our wedding anniversary 😉 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & oven roasted hg tomatoes 😋 DH did the washing up 👏, I dried & put away. Veg Box delivery started up again - everything unpacked & put away in appropriate places.
1826 - 1830 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, large cardboard box, 2 newspapers - recycled
1831 Kitchen detritus - binned
Thursday is overcast & damp & very windy but good news both the rubbish & recycling wheelie bins have been emptied 👏 (rubbish should have gone yesterday 😱) Even better news it is our 29th wedding anniversary today 🙂 & still as happy as we were when we got married 👏🤗 I have received a delivery of a beautiful bouquet 💐 which is now gracing the table in a pretty vase. My trip out yesterday was not as successful as I wanted it to be as I wanted something specific for DH but not in stock ☹️ However I did manage to get a card, a few bars of very dark chocolate & a gift box of gins & tonics 😉 DSis is not feeling well so has retired to her room. DH is taking me to a Turkish restaurant tonight.

Nice to see you ilovetea 👋 Excellent decluttering 👏 so much so that another Gold Star ⭐️ is on it’s way 🙂 You are over 3/4 of the way to your target 👏
nannywindow, you should be kinder to yourself - a whole bag of items for the cs & arranging collection 👏 is good decluttering 👏 That was a good result with your flu jab 🙂 As to the gained lbs, they are well worth it as you have had a couple of trips out 🙂👏
See 😉 when you report in you realise how much decluttering you have done 😉🙂 I wish you every success in getting the drive done 🤞which reminds me we need to get ours done ☹️ The appointment did go well, thank you 🙂
Good work EnergyShifter 👏
stellata, excellent decluttering 👏 it is an odd thing that the light bulb comes on when we are least expecting it 😉 but then leads to a very successful decluttering session 👏👏
Welcome back Wanna_Bee_Free 👋 I so admire your dedication to FlyLady 👏 I am way too lazy to sign up 😉😉☹️ We are happy to be here to assist in you completing your October challenge & we will try to keep you on track 😉 Btw, I love your rules/plan of attack 👏🙂 Perhaps print out a copy & put it up somewhere prominent - highlighting numbers 4 & 5 🙂 Hopefully you won’t mind that I have borrowed your list? especially as I am awarding you a medal 🏅 for a succinct list 🙂 Good luck 🤞
Great idea 2Scratters 👏🙂
vulpix, you already sound so much lighter & happier 🙂 & how lovely that once the ‘problem’ has moved on you are welcome back to the job 👏 As to your weight loss, now that you are not stressed about the job I believe it will be easier to reach your target 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏

Happy Anniversary Mrs and Mr SD Here's more flowers for you 🎉The weather is awful, very windy and lashing down with rain all day, plus I'm not feeling too good with a very sore arm and aching all over, think it's from the jab, never mind at least hopefully I won't catch flu ! Decluttered some ready cooked mince beef from the freezer and cooked sprouty potatoes and made a cottage pie. I used some of my hg blackberries and a few sad looking apples from the fruit bowl and made a crumble too, proper comfort food that sticks to your ribs, all went down a treat.Take care all, hugs to everyone.nan

Happy Anniversary Mrs SD.
Yes, I am up for another Friday Frog challenge. I have the contents from the file sorted last week to put away and two hanging files to be cleared out and put away. Will report back when they are done.
Anyone is welcome to join in - nice and simple, just find something you have been putting off doing and get it done! If you can't get it done, that's fine, have a go at getting it started instead.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅7
