Successfully decluttered two bags of household ‘doings’ to the charity shop today. Also decluttered some £’s to the cinema (we went to see a certain film about a certain secret agent) and then had an early dinner out. I have bought more clutter into the house in the form or a shot glass but I have a specific purpose for that!

Liverpool Anne, so sorry to hear about your friend.
TC77, I echo other comments in that you should not kick yourself while you are down. Just do one thing a day to keep yourself moving and all will sort itself out.
Wecome florianatwobob and everyone else who arrived in my abscence.
Vulpix, poor toe. I bow to your energy and hope you are able to get about soon.
I am happy to report that the allotment has now been moved, lock, stock and barrowDespite threats of heavy rain and stormy winds we only had a few showers and a bit of bluster. We had a lovely huge bonfire on the new plot and now the real work begins.
We got rid of twobags of rubbish and two bags of plastics in the process, but a lot more plastic to go.
Gender reveal was more of a gathering and me being the taxi driver than anything. I am to be acting grandma to two baby boys in December now. We knew about the other one a few weeks ago. As a rule partners seem to leave the fathers of their children in my family and so I have no had contact with any of the 'grand kids'. Hopefully this will change with these new babies.
Finally, 2 very full binliners to the CS yesterday and I bought nothing today when I did my shift.

Thank you for all the kind words and hugs.
@vulpix toe sounds very painful, hope you have iced and rested it. I am in awe of how much you do and your creativity.
@Liverpool_Anne so sorry about your friend.
@bit_by_bit impressed by whole bags for cs and buying nothing!
I've swapped some winter and summer clothes. Only 10% of summer clothes worn and not keen on about 35% but have packed away to be dealt with in the spring as CS will be more interested then. Night all9 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Slothful Saturday for me 😔 Sorted a tiny bit of paperwork, finished making soup & made dinner - pasta shells with Bolognese sauce from the freezer. DH even did the wudupa 👏 He also did a bit of gardening in between heavy rain showers 👏 It was a wet, cold miserable day ☹️ DH also succumbed & switched on the heating 😔 Sunday will be a non-day as we will be trapped in the house due to The London Marathon 😖
1843 - 1844 Drinks cans, 1” paperwork - recycled
1845 Kitchen detritus - binned
Welcome out of lurkdom and onto the Decluttering Charabanc/s florianatwobob 👋 We love to welcome new members to our Merry Band of declutterers 👏 Do you have a project in mind or just a general declutter? I for one am looking forward to hearing about your successes 🙂 A great start to your decluttering journey 👏 I do love a shot glass 😉 I have about 4 but never use them 😉😉
TC77 I fully concur with vulpix & nannywindow & EnergyShifter 🙂 Please treat yourself with the same kindness as you have shown us & your friends 🙏 I am sending you lots of hugs 🤗 🤗 Well done on sorting out summer clothes 👏 see, you are back on track 🙂
vulpix, what a lovely sentiment for TC77 🙂 Ouch 🤕 - bubble wrap around the bed & around your feet 😉, perhaps that will help🤞Excellent decluttering 👏 Hope you find all your craft bits & can complete all your craft projects 🤞
nannywindow, lovely kind comments for TC77, vulpix & Liverpool_Anne 👏 Great use of a sunny day to complete garden tasks 👏 Everything crossed that your hydrangea can be saved & relocated 🤞As to your sweet tooth how nice that you managed to satisfy it by judicious eating of hm jam 😉👏🙂 Hopefully the petrol situation will be sorted in plenty of time to allow you to go on holiday 🤞
EnergyShifter, a cold no wonder it feels strange 😉 I think we have all forgotten about ‘colds’ 😔 Great decluttering 👏
bit_by_bit what a lovely thing to say to TC77 🙂 A successful move to your new plot after a great deal of really hard work 👏 one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way. Excellent decluttering 👏 Congratulations on the 2 new baby boys that will arrive in December 🥳 What I want to know is where are all the baby girls ☹️ DH & I have 5 great great nephews & only 2 great great nieces 😔 Well done on resisting the lure of buying anything from the cs 👏🙂

Thank you for the warm welcome @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. General decluttering really. It’s been an ongoing process and last year was especially successful with about £1000 raised which went towards the kitchen refit and refurb. I have some items on a well known online auction site so that will create some more room but won’t reach the giddy heights of last year’s money making extravaganza. The shot glass is an attempt to curb the profligate use of washing liquid. I was wondering why we were getting through so much and then I saw how much my dear brother was using with each wash 😳. He obviously thought we needed to declutter that from the kitchen A shot glass looks like it will solve the problem and be easier to keep clean whilst only costing me 30p!✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Good morning! It’s been a turbulent and eventful week for all by the looks of it.Thank you for all the thoughtful posts - it means a lot. I know I’m depressed and I know I’ve got reason. Accepting that life will never be the same again is part of the process I guess.I managed to Declutter just one bag of Garden rubbish and some more packaging for recycling but I’m ashamed to say that I had a lot more stuff coming into my house, then going out this week!I had a large heavy Iceland delivery – no frozen stuff at all 😂
Surf - 100 washes/£10. Fabric conditioner 58 doses/£2.50 - that type of thing.I managed to get 12 camping gas canisters at a reasonable price and I’ve discovered a new trick! 😃 I hate shopping, especially for clothes but having discovered the filters for online shopping, i.e. trousers, size 8 long - I whizzed through the virtual sale rail in Next and found 7 pairs which came to less than £70.
I’m off to Southampton later to collect them and try them all on in the comfort of John Lewis, then I can return any I don’t like, there and then! I must remember to take my Sellotape 😂😂
I have got a personal shopping appointment booked at John Lewis – if you sign up for their loyalty card, you can have a personal shopper for two hours, free glass of Prosecco and no obligation to buy anything.I’m desperate for a capsule wardrobe. I’m not sure what the temperature in Italy is in mid October but I’m going to find out in 10 days or so. It’s Arividerci from me for a week! As I sat watching the liners last week, I thought why wait? The thought of another bleak winter stuck at home is so depressing, I knew I had to do something about it so I’ve booked a cheap cheap cheap last minute Cruise on one of the ugliest ships I’ve ever seen 😣😂😂 Tacky, loaded with children and mainstream entertainment, it’s not my dream cruise at all 😂😂 there are limited excursions, in ‘bubbles’ and the Adult- only deck attracts an alarming amount of soot according to the reviews I’ve read 😲 I’m just going to have to ‘rough it’ without a butler this time 😂😂😂
I just need to get away so, better a cruise than a week in a hotel where I’m stuck in one place.Off to visit the new baby first - she only has 2 modes at the moment: She is either smiling happily or milk-drunk 😂 i’ve been having some great video calls especially as my grandson loves showing off to the camera. It’s going to be a busy month, as I’m off to the Netherlands as well - forgot that!I didn’t think my year was going to take off like this!12 -
Hi Chums,
I think I need steel toe cap slippers or at least stop walking about in bare feet!
I had a good sort out of craft stash yesterday resulting in a big bag of excess fabrics for textile recycling. Cut and pined my alterations and cut out the trick or treat bags. All my UFO's are in a basket at the side of the sofa...waiting! Bag of stuff sorted to give away at craft club.
Today I will do the sewing on the machine and have a tidy up. Still got stuff in piles in the sitting room. Textile recycle ,bag of charity blankets, Car boot stuff, stuff listed on marketplace. DD1 and BF are calling later on the way back from the airport after their Shetland visit so I want to show willing.
816. Toughened safety glass from bedside table
817. unopened cross stitch kit
818. Christmas pillowcase
819. bag of campervan curtains
820. large bag of textiles
821. 5m of Christmas fabric
We went out last night to a comedy club, feels good that life is getting back to a new normal.
