Thats a tree that likes it where it is, impressive! And obviously mice have now spread the word to other mice...They're all coming to have a look around....Decluttered seven lengths of wombled floorboard and some other bits of wood in the garage and turned them into kindling. They'd been earmarked for shelves but we hadn't used them and weren't likely to any time soon so they got the chop. I can always womble more in the future.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

vulpix said:That IS one impressive olive tree Mrs SD,did you plant it? It is certainly very happy in the spot it is in.
I spent 3 hours in the front, weeding. Did my next 3 neighbours too. Finished 2 charity blankets.
Work today as I swapped with someone so my rearranging and decluttering is on hold. The trouble with me is once I have made a decision I want action straight away. When I have sorted everything into the pantry what then? There will be no meaning in life if I am actually sorted and organised!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps I can start my aspirational life. You know lunch with glamorous friends, spa visits that kinda thing.
Weight loss is not happening as the weather has got a bit colder all I want to do is eat!

Never satisfied 😂😂 some of us just aren’t equipped for the mundane 😉
i’ve changed my plans somewhat! Again! 😂😂 As I sat on Southampton dock with tears streaming down my face behind my sunglasses, I realised I’ve never been this unhappy in my life. The whole Southampton thing was totally indulgent and masochistic. I’m decluttering a lot of grief that I don’t want to inflict on my family.Anyway I’m on a boat out here in a couple of weeks. I can’t see far enough ahead to gamble on next year to get away! The future is too uncertain and life is short! Having a tidy home and clutter-free life isn’t that satisfying, once achieved.9 -

Oh 3 second memory large hugs. You have worked so hard recently on every aspect of your life. This could just be part of that. If any of us were closer we could physically support you. We are always here for virtual support. Xxxx:8

3 second memory, you have managed to achieve so much, I reckon it`s a sense of anti-climax that`s hit you. I`m so sorry you`re feeling miserable, just wish that there was something I could suggest to cheer you up - but you are a very resourceful person and I`m sure you will find positives and feel better. Keep on making plans, AND changing them as you see fit, and then making other plans. You can do this, you`ve already done so much. Many many hugs,Emm xxx7

@3secondmemory I hope you're feeling abit better today. I have been so impressed what you've done in a short time. I've been here a couple of years and still in chaos at times, and the amount of time I spend looking for things, and stress as DDs and me blame each other for things not being where we think or being mislaid. I'm just hoping that I will have time to read or do other thing and reduce stress. I think rather than satisfying it maybe gives more opportunity to focus on other things but I haven't got there yet !!

Thankyou for your kind words Mrs SD. My niece is exibiting photos she did for her degree about her sister who sadly died of carbon monoxide poisoning. That is all I know at the moment.
@3secondmemory: sometimes a bit of self indulgence and tears are just the thing to release the pressure and misery so you can move on. Its a self care that we don't do enough of, soldiering on instead. Big hugs to you and your family.
A good 24hrs. Last night I cleared most of the spare room and bagged up 3 bags for the CS. These are going to a local Mencap shop which I know will use them. I have 4 bags of packaging for the loft for my sales. I don't need that much immediately so it will go in the loft. In winter I will get the lot down, sort it and send some off on freecycle. I am especially thinking of foam peanuts.
Also out is one bag of recycling.
DH and I moved three huge raised beds today. They are made from railway sleeper sized wood and are about 10 x 5 ft long and wide. We had a little help from a new allotment friend. He must have taken pity on us esp as DH rammed the blessed thing into my chest then it fell off the parcel truck onto my foot. Anyway I am still walking and the beds are in place.
This afternoon it was my shift at the CS. Found a decent £2.00 coin in the till which they let me swap out and I handed another bag of donations over.
Tomorrow I am off to Poole to see the exhibition. The arrangements have drastically changed due to illness and the petrol situation. I will be picking up my DB and his wife, mother of the nieces on the way otherwise they would not be able to go.
I will be back Monday. Take care all and big squeezy hugs to those who need them.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Saturday was an overcast, chilly & dull day but no rain. Spent the day reading & recycling lots of charity booklets/magazines - a minor frog but completed. Lunch was the hm vegetable soup which was quite hot due to the small pot of chilli sauce I had added 😬 Next time I will only use half a pot 😉 No sign of a mouse tonight 🤞Dinner was the 2nd half of last night’s Chinese. Wudupa. Forgot to mention that I weighed the harvested tomatoes - over 3kg 🙂
1800 - 1812 Two plastic takeaway boxes & lids, drinks cans, 7 booklets, 3 magazines - recycled
1813 Kitchen detritus - binned
Thanks oceanspirit 👏 Great decluttering 👏 Perhaps we should do a challenge each week 😉 seeing how well we both did 🙂
Thanks vulpix 👏 We bought it as a sapling from Columbia Road market about 15/16 years ago, planted it & left it to its own devices 🙂 The arborist did comment that it was the healthiest olive tree he had seen & that the soil must be good. I didn’t think it was as it is clay based but having just read up apparently it is reclaimed marshland & is silty & peaty on top of the clay 🙂 Our garden has also had lots of compost & soil added to it over the years & is a south facing sun trap 😁 What a good neighbour you are - weeding your neighbours gardens 👏 Reading your comment “The trouble with me is once I have made a decision I want action straight away. When I have sorted everything into the pantry what then? There will be no meaning in life if I am actually sorted and organised!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps I can start my aspirational life. You know lunch with glamorous friends, spa visits that kinda thing” I had to laugh 😹
Floss what a marvellous mouse tale 👏🙂 You are now tied for 1st place with GrannyKate 👏🙂
That is an absolutely brilliant description Marpau 😂 Thank you for sharing 👏
Well done on the tidying/decluttering TC77 👏 Also well done on sticking to your decision to donate items if they don’t sell quickly 👏 Great work TC77 👏 & lovely comments for 3secondmemory 🙂
Love your observation -taff ☺️ Excellent work on the wombled floorboard & wood 👏 - Justin doesn’t stand a chance in your home 😉👏 Beautiful sentiments for 3secondmemory 🙂
Well you certainly aren’t equipped for the mundane, 3secondmemory 😉 I share Floss’s, vulpix’s & Emm-in-a-pickle’s sentiments & am also sending hugs 🤗 Also agree with -taff & TC77 that now the physical clutter is gone you are in a better position to sort the mental clutter however difficult that may be. Please be kind to yourself, you have already done so much & are an inspiration to us all 🙂
How sad bit_by_bit ☹️ but also uplifting 🙂 A wonderful sentiment for 3secondmemory 🙂 An excellent 24hrs bit_by_bit 🥳👏 Decluttering & organising 👏 + the hard graft of moving the raised beds (railway sleepers are not exactly lightweight 😬 ) Your DH is a tad clumsy 😉 & you appear to be ‘reaping the rewards’ 🤕 Hope you have a successful trip to Poole - petrol problems notwithstanding 🤞
