Mrs SD, may I challenge you to a Friday Frog?
I have the contents of a box file that need sorting and putting away in the filing cabinet. Said box has been moved around my home several times over the last few weeks so I'm going to finally sort it tomorrow.
Do you have just one Frog you could make a start on - one that's not as large and ugly looking as others?Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅9 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Back again 🙂 The sky clouded over & it got quite dark but no rain & went back to sunshine & white clouds 🙂 Wrote a menu plan & shopping list. DH did sm shop & picked up a small roasted chicken for half price. Dinner was that with the last of the hg potatoes boiled & peas. I portioned up meat & rearranged all bar one drawer of my two freezers. I still haven’t managed to defrost the kitchen freezer 😔 No mice running around in the house 🤞 but still need to move furniture etc Wudupa.

Welcome aboard TheMsTeale 👋 We do love to see a new face 🙂 I think most of us have been decluttering for years with varying degrees of success 😉 However you have a great reason to declutter a bit more - moving house 🤞& only taking what you love & need will definitely keep you focused 🙂 I for one look forward to reading your posts 👏
Foofoopuppy, lovely to see you back 🙂 So sorry to hear that the summer was a rough time for you - sending hugs 🤗 Hopefully everything is sorted & under control for the autumn 🤞Well done on the decluttering & tidying 👏 I am awarding you a medal 🏅 for your considered approach to not ‘bringing in’ clutter 👏 + I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for releasing sentimental items into the world 👏 That is one of the tougher decluttering decisions to reach & then act on. Very well done 👏
ruby_eskimo, all mouse tales are welcome 🙂 Are you sure the cat doesn’t have opposable thumbs 😉😉 I seem to remember a rather creepy milk advertisement 😥 Great work on both the decluttering & cleaning 👏 Enjoy your holiday 🙂
Great work short_bird 👏 especially the confirmation that the ‘interesting’ job is soon to be an ex ‘interesting’ job 🙂
Good work EnergyShifter 👏
Great work DundeeDoll 👏 I confess that I count items as decluttered when they are in the CS bags 😉 even if not yet delivered to CS 😉
Hope you are feeling better vulpix 🤞Remember, as a perfectionist you will want to do the painting to a high standard so waiting until you feel better is the way to go 😉🙂 Good luck with the car boot sale & I hope the weather stays dry 🤞
Thanks skogar 👏 I tried to post the before & after photos but couldn’t manage it ☹️
Challenge accepted oceanspirit 🙂 I will pick a small frog 🤞

Morning all. Hope you're feeling better soon vulpix, it's almost 18 months since I had covid and I still struggle with breathing and lethargy from time to time, just need to remind ourselves to take it easy!
I wouldn't be surprised about the cat MrsS_D, the little thing took to using one of our flower beds that's planted for bulbs as a toilet earlier on in the summer and has such a guilty look on its face whenever it runs along the top of our fence. I love cats but this one does my head in 😆 Well done on catching the mice, hopefully there aren't too many more roaming around the house!
Bathroom was scrubbed on Wednesday and all I have to do now is focus on the floors. I find it easier to do all the floors in one go rather than each room when I'm cleaning it 🤷♀️ Have little decluttering planned for the weekend but will be getting rid of a housewarming gift for some friends who moved into their new place like 6 months ago 😂 It's been sitting on the spare bed all that time so will be good to have that out of the house!
Looking forward to our trip away, will be good to blow some of the cobwebs out of the brain with a few coastal walks! Some more done but been a busy week with various things.
1017 emails unsubscribed from - about 10 I think.
1018 a box recycled which had been lying about.
1019 another card from my stash
1020-1021 more magazines recycled. DH gets given them and then he doesn't read them for ages.
1022-1024 various work stuff of DH which he is now storing at work.
Will do more today9 -
Gosh Ruby-eskimo, that's just how I felt, breathless and fatigued with fizzy limbs too. Had it yesterday too but spent most of the day sat on the sofa trying to finish some charity blankets.
My perfectionism is not helping my decluttering at the moment. I have decided that I need to fit all the boxes from the house move into the pantry. (about 10 still in the spare room) To do this I need to go through all the boxes and condense their contents. I have done several and have a large pile of stuff to go sat on the sitting room rug. If only I had been able to get rid of this stuff before the move. Still I don't think I would have flung as much as I already have without this thread. I am easily letting kitchen stuff go now, a difficult area previously. My next area of difficulty will be pictures and mirrors. I don't have enough walls at this house but I like them!
Today I MUST do some weeding at the front of the house. I have also decided to sell some of my plants and trees in pots and have promised to give some to my friend. One of the trees is an Olive, not enough sun here for it. Your's sounds magnificent Mrs SD.
Up n attem. Been listening to Mr V on a new online radio station. It has been too long, lovely to hear him back on the radio.

I thought I’d put on a little bit of weight – I have a hint of boob, a curve if you look closely enough but it was just a random hormonal episode and now I’m nursing a hot water bottle and laughing at the useless itty bitty pantie shields that my daughter left in the bathroom!I’m hoping that explains why I’m feeling so down – it’s too early to be SAD. I should be making the most of the sunshine because we’re forecast unsettled weather for the next five days.Friday is always a bonus day and I like to have a reward to look forward to. Whilst decluttering my emails, I was reminded of my John Lewis rewards and my Jo Malone discount so I am heading to Southampton for a free hand and arm massage and, in the spirit of saving the planet by cutting down reliance on plastic dispensers for hand soap , I feel compelled to buy some nice, expensive soap bars instead 😃
I actually need to get out and Declutter my head so I was thinking that I’ll go and watch the cruise ships as well.
I’ll take a notebook with me and write all the thoughts that come into my head while I’m out! Maybe that will help. 🤷♀️9 -
1612 -1613 email and unsubscribing
1614 visits to potential places for my dad
1615 frogs for dad
1616 frogs for dd1 and dd2
1617 my frogs
Lots of chasing of people doing bits in house / garden and not.complete. been putting things in my shed 1618
Both dds have commented that I hoard so maybe I'm worse than I think..Dd1 moving to rental flat end of Oct and want her to sort old bedroom, spare room which she is in surrounded by boxes and our front parlour ( as in underused living room for best ) full of her boxes/ long mirror.means decorating etc can't be done until she moves and my excuse for not sorting my things.

Hugs and best wishes for recovery for vulpix and others ill and all with RL challenges - can't keep fully up with posts but do stop by to read.8

Managed to get DD1 to sort some paper - big washing basket of paper clutter 1619 I kept some for rough paper, and also some old sheets and sweat shirt for recycling 1620 - 1624.
I often count as I put in CS bag and then a bonus 1 when the bag gets to CS
1625-1627 2 pairs of unworn shoes and jeans to CS - find giving away brand new things quite hard sometimes as its an acknowledgement of my poor planning, wastefulness.8
