Busy few days. DH and I did some shed repairs yesterday but I needed to lay a new floor bit one plank needed extra cutting so bought it home last night.
Today I was back after a few errands to lay the floor and attach some panels and hooks to the shed. I forgot how I love a good drilling session.
I also decluttered a pile of wood home plus re-used some from the old plot.

Hey hey! Hello to all.
Short bird, I am the same ,never loose pound shop glasses, only prescription ones!
Liverpool Ann, also the same. I wanted to take woodwork but wasn't allowed and had to do domestic Science and Needlework instead at school. The cooking side of things have been most useful as my Mother is a dreadful cook. I was already good at needlework as My Mum is ace at that! She had me making dolls clothes from the age of 3.
I have been busy doing life but did drop off 3 bags at the charity shop. I bought myself some trousers a top and a necklace for less than a tenner. I will look tres chic when we go out with friends in a couple of weeks. Need to shorten the trousers.
In, a pair of new to me curtains for our bedroom. This is the 6th and final pair of curtains that have been up at these windows in as many weeks. Just need to paint the woodwork again and this room is finished. ( for now) I also need to decide on wall art. I will choose from the spare room stash.
My days off where I am at home this week will be Thursday and Friday. I would like to do a bit of weeding at the front of the house, clean the house and delve in the spare room to fill some more bags for charity. I will try and sell a few of the bigger things too.

I am dithering about a framed embroidery I made for DD1. It is a quote from the TV show big bang theory. Writing it down here has made my mind up, it can go to the charity shop. I love this thread.

I had quite a nice day and the fact it was so sunny made a real difference. Monday is laundry day and I surprisingly did three loads which is a lot for me – I usually do a light and a dark.Because I had everything out on the line by two, I decided I would chance going into town. I’m glad I did because Iceland was very short on fresh, plain meat and Tesco’s wasn’t great either. I bought 2 kg of chicken pieces, 2 kg of pork loin steaks and 2 kg of sausages - easy to eek out til Christmas. I never ate meat every day anyway! I’m still trimming and freezing - and I need to water the garden. I didn’t realise how well my late corn, peas and courgettes were doing quietly behind my back! We have three days of nice weather forecast so I intend to make the most of them!I don’t think I have the energy to do another car boot sale so anything worth less than a possible tenner is going to the charity9 -
DM'd you Mrs SD

Gosh, lots going on and @3secondmemory you sound so busy so hope this means you're feeling better than a couple of weeks ago.
Not much physical clutter, except large boxes that I had been keeping and some packaging 1591- 1592
Lots of frogs, email deletion, emails sent and calls made 1593 - 1602
1603 six monthly hair cut - feel abit better for it
hoping couple of things will be collected from free site posts.
Debating whether to give away lots of packaging /boxes as really don't have heart for selling and posting things but do find it hard to give away items never worn but know CS need items - will hopefully put into action.
1604 declutter bathroom of DDs debris - lots but only 1 as not mine.
1605 decaying veg that couldn't be resuscitated.9 -
@-taff, I have just retired from teaching in a special school, ( I will be 66 in a few weeks ), and I have volunteered to help with the Duke of Edinburgh kids but I have no intention of volunteering to teach or be a TA. I loved my job but I am at the end of my career and while volunteering is useful for younger people wanting to work in education it would go against my union grain to do the job for free. I have been looking for a women's equivalent of the man's shed, apparently they are a thing, as the man's sheds are just for men, but have not found one yet. I do have a folding workbench and a chop / circular saw but it is the big machines such as the band saw and pillar drill I really miss.
My Dad was hopeless at woodwork, brilliant with anything electrical, he rewired our house, but no good with a saw, or a paintbrushMy Mum did all the decorating. My Mum also taught me to knit and crochet and sew and embroider. I now have her sewing machine. I didn't do cookery at school either, it was an old grammer school and was completely geared towards academic subjects and my Mum never let me near the kitchen. She was a good plain cook having had to look after her 2 brothers and her Dad from the age of about 12 when her Mum got some serious health problems, fab pastry, but was on a very tight budget and I think she thought I might wreak the dinner
so I didn't learn to cook until I went off to uni, the good old student cook book was very useful

4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Sunday was an overcast & damp day but I again nothing done apart from watching TV & finishing The Shipyard Girls book 10 🙂 - now just have to wait until the end of next month for book 11. Harvested another 557g of tomatoes + 7 cherry tomatoes. DSis spent the day in her room. DH watched the MotoGP races. Then used the strimmer with new blades on half of ndn’s back lawn. Dinner was spaghetti Bolognese from scratch. Wultdpa. Now for my tale - DSis & I were sitting watching TV when she saw a teeny tiny mouse just sitting on the carpet in the middle of the room eating crumbs. We then spent the next 3 hours or so watching mice (yes mice 😔) running back & forth under & round the furniture. At one point we saw 3 - very entertaining & brazen 😉 DH ordered a couple of mousetraps then took a torch into the shed to try & find our old mousetraps - no sign of them & not in the garage either ☹️ I appear to have decluttered them 😔
Monday has been a dry bright day mainly but a bit cooler than of late ☹️ DH went into the kitchen this morning to see the tiniest mouse ever just sitting on the door mat. So docile that it didn’t move even when he picked up the mat & carried the mouse into the garden & put it on the grass. Left it for over an hour but it didn’t move (we thought it might have died ☹️ but no 🙂) DH picked it up & we put it in the compost bin with some peanut butter. Went back a couple of hours later & no sign - peanut butter had been nibbled at & the mouse had burrowed into the compost 🙂 The 2 new humane mousetraps arrived & were set up. DSis spent most of the day in her room. I finally went to the P.O. & posted the baby blanket 🙂 then continued on to As*a & bought pasta, toiletries & a few other bits plus half a few groceries for the food bank (I keep forgetting there is a trolley but will try to remember in future 🤞) Took ages to get back as traffic now starts to build up at 3:30 p.m. rather than after 5:00 p.m ☹️ DH trimmed ndn’s front hedge & strimmed our back lawn & the rest of ndn’s back lawn. He also filled all the bird feeders. Dinner was the lo Bolognese sauce (added frozen peas, mash & grated cheddar) made into a cottage pie with a broccoli side. The new mousetraps don’t work 😔 saw one mouse who nipped in & out to eat the seeds & peanut butter but was so light that it didn’t set off the trap 🤔 Wudupa.

Making an early start on frogs as they didn't get done yesterday as it was a lovely day and garden called to me. I did manage to catch up on competitions and surveys but then too tired after gardening to do anything else.
