Thank you for my medal and star Mrs SD. I'm not sure you fully realise how much your cheerleading helps, even when I've gone awol for a bit.
Nothing in the way of decluttering happening here again, but because I'm keeping more on top of things then weekends feel more like my own time than running round trying to find surfaces time. Which is a relief.I've just bought my bulbs and winter bedding ready to go in, with the added bonus that I can find the pots to pot them on in without breaking my neck. (As an aside, more expensive and less choice than last year, on the bulb front.
And the major event of the week - the delivery people finally managed to get a new mattress up my stairs, a saga which has been ongoing since February. That'll be it now for the next 15 year because I remain unconvinced I'm ever going to get the beggar out again. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Before I get into the cheerleading I will list what DH & I have done 😉 DH washed & cleaned the 5 empty wormery trays & rinsed off both motorbikes. Then DH & I went into the back garden 🙂 DH strimmed a third of ndn’s garden (rented house, currently empty & being redecorated) whilst I pruned one of their bushes & our tomato plants; lovely chat with neighbour J (as in over the garden fence 😉) & I donated 3 large tomatoes & 2 cherry tomatoes. I also cleared half the area around the olive tree, weeded & cut down the peony. Also another 30 minutes of riddling 😉 Trug full of garden waste added to the garden waste bag out front & chatted to neighbour G (donated 3 large tomatoes & 2 cherry tomatoes). DH has just gone out to pick up K*C for dinner. The rain never appeared so will go & water before it gets too dark 😉

1728 Kitchen detritus - binned
TC77, what a pain losing your post 😠 You have been busy - not only decluttering but also clearing frogs for your dear dad. The problem with dealing with all those different people is that not only is it time consuming but oh so stressful & draining so a medal 🏅 is on its way. “Everyone has so much on their plate and hope we can all be kind to ourselves as we chip away and recognise that sometimes its ok to not do things and to R &R”. Very well said 👏
Great work Happy_Kitties 👏 Now that you have completed your neutral items & sent them, one Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🙂 You should be very proud that you have been so organised 🙂
vulpix, I was exhausted 😩 just reading about all the work you have done & when not even feeling 100% Excellent work 👏 Sending you a few more healing vibes & plenty for MrV 🙂 You are definitely on a roll especially with all your plans to finish off various crafting projects 👏
Yippee to the negative result short_bird 🥳 but yah boo to the allergies ☹️
3secondmemory what a wonderful reaction from your eldest son 😆 So nice to have all your hard work validated by someone else 👏 You must have been on cloud nine 😉 Like you, I think that there will be some version of lockdown this winter 😭 However once the garden is fully sorted I do have a huge amount of wool & will start knitting scarves, beanies & hand warmers for charity. There is also a huge amount of indoor decluttering & decorating to do so DH & I will make better use of our time 😉🤞🤞🤞 I am keeping everything crossed that you can arrange the blood test & then have a telephone consultation 🤞 🤞 What a lovely friend your daughter has 🙂👏 A taster cruise sounds lovely & something to look forward to 🙂 but I did smile at your description “a very long boat trip in dull weather” 😉 That picture is so funny 🤣
Emm-in-a-pickle, fingers crossed that the tarp works 🤞 Great work in the garden & nice to have good neighbours 👏 The meal out was so enjoyable 🙂 Thanks for reminding me to sort out a To Do list 👏
You are very welcome elsien 🙂 & you have made me blush with your very kind comments ☺️ As to the ‘not much decluttering’ I think you are doing yourself a disservice 😉 - you are keeping on top of things tidying, putting away & throwing stuff out before it becomes clutter 👏 which has rightly resulted in you having weekends to do the things you enjoy doing 👏🙂 Congratulations on the new mattress making it onto the bed 🙂 With regular turning & vacuuming hopefully it will last 15 years 🤞 & give you time to prepare 😉😉
Good work short_bird 👏

Morning all! Wasn't planning on doing much around the house this weekend but while we were putting away the weekly shop yesterday, DH asked if I minded going to the big blue and yellow swedish shop to pick up some more small bins that he wanted to organise the stuff in the garage. While we were walking round he started talking about the pantry idea for the cupboard under the stairs and well...it escalated from there. When we got back we pulled everything out of the kitchen cupboards and totally rearranged the space! Picked up a trolley from the store to put all the small kitchen appliances on like the slow cooker, blender, soup maker (and associated accessories) which is now stored in the "pantry", freeing up 2 cupboards in the kitchen. Emergency food provisions are now organsied properly on shelves in the "pantry" and lots of packages were decanted into various jars we had and labelled. Had to throw a few things out because they were open and LONG past their use by date (including stuff that went out of date prior to us moving into this house 5 years ago 😂) Took the opportunity to declutter the mugs and glasses that we didn't need so that's all in the charity donation pile. Things seem to flow a bit better in the kitchen now, we have empty shelves and everything has a place! Just need to pick up a couple more small organisation bins, replace the blind and for DH to paint the exposed walls but then the kitchen should be done. Feeling very accomplished and counted at least 100 items that left the house yesterday so adding that to the total.
Now I need a rest! Hugs to all that need them, hope those that are under the weather start to feel better soon and hope you all have a good day.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201712 -
I got all the washing done yesterday and line dried then changed the bedding and washed that too as it was a dry day. We had rain during the night but it's just overcast now and the garden is damp, so it was a good call on my part.DD text last night and has asked for all the leftover toys that the DGC don't play with any more and she will take them to school with her on Friday. Yippee !! There will be a very mixed bag of Lego, play food, a dolls pushchair and other bits, but at least they all will have a good home. There's plenty of life left in them as they haven't been misused.Tomorrow I shall declutter another dentist appointment, I thought theses anti b's were starting to work on Sat but yesterday we were almost back at square one. I seemed to be sneezing violently too but nothing has come of that. Very strange 🤔Ruby Eskimo blimey that was some work you accomplished. I usually start on one thing then get sidetracked 🤣 Well done !Right I'm going to have a soak in the bath before I start on anything as my bones are creaking today, think it's the damp weather.Hugs to all those in neednan

I am so pleased that life is much calmer for you energyshifter, you have all been shaken about by a hurricane recently, and you are all here to tell the tale xxxx
Same for you 3second memory ,love the MariKondo pic. You have done so much in a very short time. A little blip won't throw you off track, the compensation money you had cancels out what was lost. I have been to the VanGough museum, highly recommend it. I am envious of your mini cruise.
I over did it the other day ,running before I could walk. All I did yesterday was clean the bedroom window and afterwards had to lie on the bed because I felt nauseous. Mr V put the woodwork back on the stairs with me holding stuff. I had a rudimentary look in the spare room for the curtains. I am wondering if I had a rush of blood to the head and got rid of them. I have mentally identified lots of things in there to go.
Impressive days work Ruby_eskimo. You have inspired me.
Storage baskets are not the answer to my problems ,less stuff is what I need. I have to have a serious talk with myself now about the spare room. It is stacked with boxes and many oversized pictures ,mirrors Christmas decorations and goodness knows what else. It would not be a restful place for a guest to stay. Tomorrow I will take a leaf out of your book Ruby_eskimo and empty the room and only put back what I am keeping. GULP, this is a massive task. I will need Mr V's muscle as I can't do the heavy lifting any more.

Many thanks for the gold star MrsSD.I’m pleased all of the neutral items have been sorted and sent. Those bits left over were dropped at the CS this morning. If I could only be this efficient with my shoeboxes. Only need one shoebox to finish off…..getting one to fill is proving impossible
318-322. the last of the neutral items for whatever reason went off to the CS this morning. Might have another item aswell which will be better off going to the CS instead of the charity fundraising due to the size and sending out.

Hello everyone. How I chuckled at that Marie Kondo pic.Pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better Vulpix. I m always doing the same as you - I think when you are recovering from something you get to the point when you feel OK when you are taking it easy and so don't realise that you are not actually fully recovered yet and then you find out when you try and do something that normally would not be a problem. Hope your Mum is Ok and you are fully recovered soon.Mrs SD - You are absolutely correct - my friend is lovely and was coming to see us rather than the house but she fell and injured herself and it is not fully healed so i would hate an untidy house to cause her further mischief - hence my panic. It was really nice to see her. We didn't get the tidying finished completely finished before she came but the following rooms although not perfect are basically OK - hall, landing, stairs, bathroom, front room, back room, guest bedroom. Kitchen and back porch are a lot better (still need some work to finish them off) but it is looking a lot more achievable now. So I think with a small amount of regular input should be able to get those two rooms looking under control. The epic that is our bedroom still awaits! Also it means that when my sister comes we will hopefully be able to spend some time making it look a bit smarter rather than trying to find rooms hidden by clutter!Socially distanced hugs to all.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons9

So many productive people!!
162 - slow phone charger thrown away
163 - 2 plastic baby spoons
164-165 - 2 items of clothing previously on EBay but didn't sell so in the CS bag
166 - booster seat DD now refuses to use, unless it's to put her 'babies' in. We have a portable one as well that I've kept for now
167-168 - play pen we were using as a ballpit and associated balls
We started putting the garden to bed for the winter at the weekend. With DD and the 2 Stepkids turning up didn't get as much done as hoped, but instead had some nice family time and a BBQ so happy with that.
I have a few days off next week so will hopefully trim hedges etc then if not before.June Grocery Challenge £0/£250
