@vulpix, hugs hope you are feeling better soon and your Mum, it must be very worrying for you.
Not much decluttering done here but yesterday I visited a friend who was teaching me how to list stuff to sell as I am a bit clueless with things like that. She has also said I can phone her if I hit any problems. This will mean I can try to get a few pennies in as I declutter in the futureI am looking forward to giving it a go.
Take care everyone11 -
Hi, feelng much better today so perhaps my post will be a little more coherent!
Thank you everyone for your get well wishes. What lovely people you are. Unlike me who had a bit of a meltdown last night and took it all out on Mr V.
Last night the carelink people phoned me to say my Mothers signal wasn't working on her fall bracelet and she wasn't answering the phone! I wasn't overly worried as I have had this before, rushed over there to find her watching Strictly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was all a bit fraught as we can't leave the house and no one can go in my Mothers house because we all have covid. Eventually found out that there was a power cut. My Mum had the sense to phone my Nephew on her mobile. The mobile she doesn't switch on to save the battery! Like a Brian Rix farce! All's well that ends well. I am married to a saint.
Liverpool_Anne good luck with the sales. Once you get in the swing of it there will be no stopping you. I worked out yesterday that we have made about £140 per month this year, selling stuff we don't need. If I didn't keep a list I would have no idea what had gone. I certainly don't miss anything.
Last night I emptied 2 banana boxes from the spare room. I found my jewellery. Not real stuff but cheap necklaces and bangles etc. I enjoy a bit of bling. Using the boxes to store chazzer and car boot stuff as I find it. Still not found the curtains.
Today I am going to deep clean the bedroom and change the bedding. It feels like I should be burning the bed but a hot wash will have to do. Some proper tidying up and cleaning needed right through the house.

Mrs SD, I fear I have to return my medal for the logshelter bodge, I spoke too soon as it was very wet in there this morning after yesterday`s heavy rain - further modification will be needed before I order more logs. I think a well-placed tarp will do the job, so will be having another go at that this weekend.Yesterday before the rain set in I braved the several roadworks and took my box of gubbins to the CS, as well as 3 giftbox sets of bathtime smellies/pamper kits that I`m unlikely to use, and can`t re-gift them in case they go back to the original giver!! Now is a good time for CS to have them as folks are soon going to be looking for Christmas gifts. They were out of sight but taking up shelf space in bedroom which I`ll use soon to put away summer tops.Re Covid, it`s still a worry even if folks are double-jabbed and not getting quite so ill with it, the numbers are up again and I was amazed to read here that masks are a rare sight in some areas. My observation is still quite the opposite (North Wales) as very few shoppers are not wearing masks, folks on buses that pass or just waiting at bus stops are wearing them, and even at outdoor cashpoints. Our lovely Welsh First Minister did a broadcast yesterday and is still taking the pandemic seriously. May he please be excluded from the ranks of braying idiot politicians in Whitehall?8

Vulpix glad to read that you're feeling better, sorry about the problem with your Mum.I had a gasping emergency call from Dad yesterday evening so I had to calm him down before he could speak coherently, he's 92, asthmatic and has bronchiectasis. Seems he'd been shopping in Al*i and lost his wallet somewhere between the shop, car and home 😮 As I'd just come out of the bath I was in my PJ's, but before I could get fully re-dressed to go up to his house he was back on the phone saying he'd found it on the floor in his house. Another crisis averted..... he seems to be losing a lot of things lately, his phone which is never on ( another one battery saving) the one arm of his glasses and a set of keys, but he still refuses any outside help. I wish I could do more but I'm getting older too and not physically able to do what I used to do for him.Today the anti b's are giving me some gyp, with palpitations and an upset tummy and DH is not well either but I have managed to hoover and declutter the dust by going around him in the living room. Not a perfect job but it will have to suffice for now. I have emptied the dw and the bins from upstairs so I shall class that as a win for today.Liverpool Anne good luck with the sales, I'm useless with that kind of stuff too but my clutter is manly things that no longer work or bits of wire, cable, plugs etc which is DH's fault as he loves to keep things for Justin 😣2scratters please can I send my ironing to you ? It's a job I hate.Emm I'm not sure I fully agree with you about Dippy D Weinidog, yes he's probably doing his best about the pandemic, but he and his cohorts fall down on many other things IMO.Sending healing vibes to the poorly ones and hugs to those struggling.Take care all, happy declutteringnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8

10 - 12/52 - I've cleared out the fridge 3 times since the start of the year, just finished the 3rd. Getting better at using things up before they turn. I feel the effort in clearing, cleaning and using stuff up from each shelf is worth acknowledging.7

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Friday was a lovely day - mainly overcast BUT no real rain & lots of sunshine. DH & I met his niece (M) about 1:00 p.m. in Greenwich. We did hug but kept masks on whilst doing so 🤞 Decided on a place called Bill’s & were lucky enough to be seated within 5 minutes. Lots of chat & laughter - after all we had 18 months to catch up on 🙂 Food was good - burger & chips for DH, toasted fish finger sandwich & chips for M & a huge Caesar’s salad for me with 2 chicken breasts. So much in fact that I ate half & had the other half boxed up for DSis. Took our time over lunch then found a pub & chatted for another couple of hours. M left about 5:30 p.m. & headed home. DH & I stayed in the pub chatting until 7:00 p.m. when the pub closed. Had way too much to drink but managed to get home safely 😉 only 2 stops on DLR & a short walk 😉 DSis really enjoyed her Caesar’s salad & DH & I topped up with a couple of slices of toast. DH suffered a little bit as he has not had so much to drink in probably over 2 years 😔😉
1703 - 1705 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle, cardboard packaging - recycled
1706 Kitchen detritus - binned
Saturday has dawned bright & sunny - blue skies with fluffy white clouds & a warmish breeze. DH is feeling a bit fragile so is watching MotoGP Qualifying & drinking lots of coffee 🙂 I am feeling a teensy bit fragile so am watching TV & planning what to this afternoon 😉 DSis has gone out to pick up her prescription meds - I hope she got there before they closed 🤞🤞🤞 DSis is back - very unwell & gutted that the pharmacy did not have her meds even though she had been told they did 😡 I know she is unwell because she wasn’t angry just very upset. She did notice that there was a big notice stating that the online pharmacy are “rubbish” but put more nicely than that 😉 The pharmacy have ordered her meds & she needs to contact them on Monday. However, when she got back she had a parcel to open & joy of joys it contained the urgent heart medication & one other important medication 🥳 so her worry & stress is slightly abated. Now calming down with a cup of tea.
Nice to see you again 2Scratters 👋 Well done on tackling the fridge frog 👏 Ironing outside - what a great idea - means the clothes get another airing before being put away 👏🙂 Great decluttering & as you say “not a bad day overall” 👏
Sorry life is treating you badly TC77 ☹️ Lots of hugs coming your way.
What a lovely post EnergyShifter 🙂 “Thank you all so much for lovely messages - I got a warm feeling in my heart reading them
. Sending hugs to everyone who needs / wants them - seems like we're all having our fair share of ups and downs at the moment x” You have summed up how a lot of us feeling 👏
vulpix, sorry to hear about your mum. Hopefully you, MrV & your mum will recover quickly 🤞 Covid is very insidious but all we can do is keep up with the mask wearing & hand washing. I am with you on ‘who the h… are they’ as only recognise a very few of the so called celebrities on Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins 😉 So pleased that you are feeling better 🙂 but you really can do without the worry about your dear mum 😔 although as you say ‘all’s well that ends well’. What a great result from your sales drive - keeping lists reminds you how much work you have done & how well you are doing 👏🙂 Excellent work on decluttering the spare room 👏 I am being cheeky now - your spare room seems to be hiding the curtains on purpose 😉 encouraging you to continue with your decluttering 😉😉
Thanks for popping in bit_by_bit 🙂 I hope the reason you will be away for a while is a pleasant one ☝️
ilovetea, well done on all your decluttering especially the number of sales 👏
Well done Liverpool_Anne 👏 learning a new skill from your friend 👏 Soon I will be the only technophobe here 😉😉
Now, now Emm-in-a-pickle insert wagging finger emoji. You can keep the medal 🏅- the idea has been very sound & the tarpaulin should solve the problem 🤞Excellent work on braving the roadworks & dropping off the cs bags. Re your covid comments, the Welsh First Minister is absolutely excluded from the ranks of braying idiot politicians in Whitehall re his handling of covid so am sending him both a medal 🏅 & a Gold Star ⭐️.
nannywindow, sorry to hear about your dad ☹️ Is there another family member who can persuade him to accept a little outside help. I can definitely understand his reluctance to accept any help - he is of the generation that prides themselves that they can still do everything they used to do regardless of their age + they have no faith in the system. Please take care of yourself & your DH - hopefully the antibiotics will do their job 🤞I am sending you & your DH healing vibes & gentle hugs.
Absolutely agree Rootle 🙂 We need to acknowledge our successes & your frequent clearing & cleaning of your fridge is a great example 👏 & reminds me that I need to sort my fridge again 😉

I wish we had more family MrSD but the only family is my DD and myself and DD has her own health problems as alluded to in my post about hospitals being a law unto themselves. I don't want to be specific on here but after years of tests, scans and appointments etc..she was told that they had lost all her records with every dept blaming the other and they were expecting her to start over. Finally they realised they'd had them all the time and appologised, but only after being threatened with a solicitor 🤬 On the up side she starts physio for her damaged leg next week.... Oh how they've changed their tune, perhaps I'm being a bit cynical.I hope you and your DSis pick up very soon and I'm glad Dsis ate the Caesar salad, hopefully she can fight off whatever ails her. We too have a disgruntled lot of folks who rant about the service of our village pharmacy, we changed our alliance to the one in the next village years ago, a much superior service with lovely and helpful staff. Sorry I'm a bit grumpy today.Hugs to all xxnanPS short bird fingers crossed the result will be negative xx
