I was pointed at in the street a couple of weeks ago with “look there’s a person wearing a mask!” By an adult too.
that’s how few are wearing them in my area
bus drivers have been told not to challenge anyone not wearing a mask because people were threatening to sue the bus co.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?9 -
Get well wishes and hugs to our poorlies, whether it be Covid, teeth, or just feeling carp. Also hugs to everyone who`s looking after poorlies.I`ve filled a big cardboard box with stuff for CS, a handy mix of bric-a-brac and clothes so stuff won`t get damaged, but there are so many roadworks/delays/temp traffic lights round here it`s ridiculous! The worst delays are on the route to my CS of choice, a Donation centre and CS shop where you can park (free) outside, it`s the other side of town but avoids going into town itself.Plus there are diversions all over the place just to get out of our village, which has 2 lots of roadworks of its own, with diversion signs pointing all over the place NOT specifying diversions to WHERE, and there`s a pop-up Covid testing centre one day a week on our estate, serving a wider area so a few lost motorists cruising around trying to follow said diversion signs, and still a couple of driving schools using the estate. Chaos.Yesterday I cleared another load of overgrown jungle, including a raised bed where once lavender thrived till overtaken by brambles and bindweed, and after noting the forecast for rain last night/early hours of today I put a big piece of cardboard (half the flat pack box the new logshelter came in) on the floor of the logshelter to see which parts, if any, got wet. Very happy to report that when I looked at it this morning none of the cardboard was even damp, so it looks like my bodge for the back of it works nicely. I`m leaving it as it is as we`ve more heavy rain to come, but if I don`t find any further modifications needed I will get on with ordering more logs.Today I`ve walked little dog earlier than usual, and rescued a few windfalls from the nettle-free area, making the most of a pause in rainfall, and cleared some weeds at the front of the house which were less soggy. Was thinking of blitzing inside back door and kitchen floor, but now going to leave it till after the anticipated wetness to come.7

Thursday started a bit dull having rained heavily overnight. Now fresher, cloudy but with gaps for the sun to beat through 🙂 DSis is still suffering but when asked how she is she just grunts & retires back to her room (She did get up about 3:00 a.m. & had a third of a bowl of chicken soup so she could take her heart meds). DH has gone out on the Harley Davidson to visit an acquaintance who might be able to sort out the minor non-structural damage. I am drinking coffee & watching rubbish TV. Today’s post is sorted - I have my third & final lung health check at the end of the month - The study will be over & hopefully useful information will be gleaned 🤞

Oh boo vulpix ☹️ hope it is a mild dose & is over quickly. Please take care & I am sending you both virtual hugs & good wishes for a speedy recovery.
newlywed, something was obviously niggling at the back of your mind re the black shoes 😉 you must be so pleased that you kept the navy ones 😉 Really hope that the rain coat fits your friend - 2 happy people 🙂 Can you point me in the direction of the bra website, please? I read your comment about mask wearing & succumbed to a rueful grin - the whole thing beggars belief 😖
nannywindow, thanks for the kind wishes re DSis 👏 Re my dental problems the expense will really come in a few months time as I am now missing top left 6 & top right 6 😱 but having said that I should get no more infections or earaches 🙂 As to the cancelled call from the hospital, I am torn about my reaction 🤔 The NHS is struggling - covid is not helping + I imagine we lost a lot of nursing & ancillary staff due to B**x*t. Your situation sounds far more concerning if the 🤬 is anything to go by 😔 My problem with building new hospitals & setting up the Nightingale buildings is that TPTB ignore the fact that there are not enough staff to go around - I am finally coming to the conclusion that there has never been any common sense in our government & it is a bitter blow 😔 Anyway I will jump off my soapbox before I send my bp soaring 😉 Hope you & DH have a lovely lunch 🙂
GrannyKate, as you say we cannot control others we can only do what we feel is right - like you I will continue wearing a mask on buses, trains, doing ANY shopping & when entering bars, restaurants etc. Apart from the heat whilst driving, it sounds like you had a lovely trip out 🙂That is a very large border GrannyKate 😉 & sounds like it requires a lot of work. However I would like that thank you for the lovely memories of lily of the valley 👏 - I remember that my Nanna & I used to plant lily of the valley & also love in a mist - neither of which I have seen for a while ☹️ Good luck with your frogs 🤞
Emm-in-a-pickle, sounds like a real nightmare & yet more proof that common sense has all but disappeared from daily life - if I wasn’t so angry I would cry 😭 & probably not stop for a year. Good job we have each other on the various MSE OS threads - otherwise we might all just quit & go into hibernation for a few years 😔 Great work in the garden 👏 & one medal 🏅 coming your way for having done such a good job with your new log store 👏
DSis is up & feeling a bit better as evidenced by her ‘rage’ at the online pharmacy who have yet again left her desperately short of one of her heart medications & to add insult to injury & more fuel to her rage keep asking her to recommend them to family & friends. Unfortunately I am as much use as a chocolate teapot.
As it is not raining & quite cool I am off to hide in the garden 😉

Lots of hugs and courage for all of you with " trouble", and for those of us who are just tired, or have just too much to deal with at the moment.
I lost my list of items to declutter , so I've had a go at remembering most of it. It doesn't really matter, though.
2 unopened ood bottles of essential oils - to the recycling centre- toxic waste?
10 books to a friend
1 pile of rubbish from the back of a drawer
1 picture easel - to CS
1 cardboard box to compost heap
1uu unliked shower gel used as soap
1 small pretty rucksack for DGD - not taken to her due to Covid and now too small - to CS
total=17 +313=330/365
Very slowly getting to this year's target - it will be later this year than last year, but , that is to be expected as the clutter diminishes. The CS habit is under control - fewer books being bought as I am trying to read more from my stash and being more critical in choosing what to buy in the first place. Still no new soap , makeup or toilettries bought this year and still plenty to use up.
I have booked my trip to the Uk- a quick very short break to see the DGC. I am a bit worried well very worried about the UK situation - the stories I hear about no masks or distancing and as for the number of cases.... I feel for you all. Here in my area everybody well 99.9 % people wear the masks and even 6 yr olds in school. I wear mine outside in town as well and so do lots of people. and I'm a tad unhappy about having to buy a test for day 2 when I will be back here before the result and I'm fully vaccinated. Still , DS is collecting me at the airport and leaving me back. And I am so looking forward to seeing the children. Sorry about all that. Will stick to decluttering items , not worries.

I did retire to the garden - spent about 80 minutes or so sorting out the area in front of the patio with its 2 narrow slabs that we are using as stepping stones. Weeded thoroughly, gathered up most of the decorative stones then started riddling & returning the stones. Have only done about a quarter ☹️ but at least I have started 😉 DH phoned, his friend managed to straighten out the bent bit - confirming not structural 👏 DH got back about 7:30 p.m. We are fending for ourselves again - DH has had a couple of cheese & pickle sandwiches, DSis is going to try beans on toast, I am going to have a fried egg sandwich.
Tomorrow DH & I are going to lunch with one of his nieces, so probably not a lot of gardening 😉
1701 Kitchen recycling
1702 Kitchen detritus - binned
Thanks for that newlywed 👏 I will investigate 🙂

Hi Peeps,
nice to see you making progress even through life stories & making it all count.
Done a frog on the fridge today, its been on the list for far too long to be cleaned, also cleaned out the food no longer fit for any consumptionwould have helped a pig farmer though. Are those on small holdings with pigs accepting any fodder for theirs?
Completed the ironing - twas too hot yesterday to be outside and do it. ( I enjoy ironing outside)
Helped a friend declutter "out" vocally as is coming to her end of her tether with Shi*e. She is on leave for a couple of weeks soon so hope that will help massively for her.
Just waiting for a lady to collect anytime now 15 glass jars from me. Proper recycling
Paperwork sorted and tidied and some for shredding (need to contact another villager to collect the shreddings.
Glass jars gone. Clothes put away. Not a bad day overall.
Stay safe

Hi,
Still feeling rough, mostly fatigue. The house is a total tip.
Sadly my Mother tested positive today. She is 87. Can't go to see her. She is so badly deaf a phone call would be hilarious to listen to if it wasn't so serious. She is also very crippled with arthritis. Anyone else in her condition would be in a home or at least have carers. The positive is that she doesn't seem to be any worse than we are which is flu like symptoms. We have given covid to her when we took her shopping last week. She is a very tough ,determined old lady so she will be fine.
We are all double jabbed and wear face masks outside the house. Contact needs to be minimal as proved by dropping some shopping off the other day before we had symptoms.
On a brighter note, filming went on till 4:30 am today for the TV programme at work. The "celebrities" were an ex page 3 model, an ex girl band member who is in the papers constantly and lots of other people who no one had a clue who they were. gripping television.
I am reading along ,love to all
