I woke up early and went through my makeup and toiletries drawer. I threw away some makeup I never wear and I got out some body oil to use after the shower to use it up.
I also donated a dress and skirt that are too big for me now.
My husband needs to do the weeding this week as he is off work.

Did my invoicing - my income for August is a fraction of what I normally earn (an 1/8 to be precise) because I haven't been able to work & I'm self-employed. Almost cancelled my long planned dentist appointment to have cosmetic work on a couple of teeth - but decided to plough ahead as I'm trying to fight going into a scarcity mindset (which I normally do). Started back at work in a small way which is a relief so at least there's some money flowing in the right direction.

Jumping o to update from a quick lunchtime purge. I pulled out the box of toddler items and the first thing I saw was the Fat Face top I sold the other week but had to cancel as I couldn't find. No idea why it was in there and don't have the patience to re-list so CS it is.
First scan through of box done.
148-153 - clothing items to the CS. Any hand me downs we are given I like to donate as would feel weird to profit, my DD is the smallest of her friends and no close girls so the CS gets them
154-157 - 3 really stained items and toddler tights into the material recycling
I also managed to photograph 3 bundles for listing which I'll do tonight, everything left is also in age category bundles so hopefully manage to do some more bundling and photos laterJune Grocery Challenge £0/£250

Fingers crossed for you and DS @EnergyShifter
Not much to report in. I took 2 DGCs swimming yesterday and cooked them Sunday lunch. Then fell asleep on settee. I stupidly left a wet smelly teacloth in washer and forgot to turn it on so utility room stinks today. Now running an empty hot wash with soda crystals. I bought them ages ago to clean machine so I will count that from my invisible to do list.

Sunday was a gloriously sunny & warm day. Two loads of washing including DH’s motorbike trousers done, everything dried outside except the trousers which were left out overnight. DH mowed the front lawn - ours & next door’s. He also took 4” off the front hedge (still too tall but DH will only trim gradually until it is a more reasonable height🤞) We then went into the back garden - hats on, drinks at the ready & started at the back & will be working our way around clockwise - sorting everything. I moved all the bits & pieces from behind the large raised bed - wood, spare wormery trays & various other bits & pieces. We weeded the two raised beds, pulled up an unrecognised plant & discovered it was a King Edward potato plant with one medium sized potato 🥔🙂, watered everything else - carrots, leeks, a single chard, a clematis cutting and what look like sweet potato plants 🤞We also weeded the ground around the beds. Next we moved onto the area holding the step for the window cleaner & one pot of rhubarb - moved, weeded & dug up. Will be flattening & laying a layer of bricks & a couple of spare paving slabs. We spent about 2 hours doing everything slowly 😉 The plan is to do a bit each day 🤞 Put all the tools away & I moved the required number of bricks from the stack ready for Monday’s endeavours 🙂 DH made dinner - one of his best ever cheesy pastas (9 different cheeses) with me being his kitchen porter 🙂 DH is still struggling with both his thumbs - cannot grip properly ☹️ Wudupa.
1677 - 1683 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 5 newspapers - recycled
1684 - 1686 Kitchen detritus, garden detritus - binned + cuttings, weeds etc added to garden waste bag
Monday is another sunny & warm to hot day 😁 DH has phoned a garage & has taken in his Harley Davidson - the frame is slightly damaged but needs welding to pass next year’s MOT - they will check to see what can be done 🤞Best case scenario a bit of welding, worst case scenario the bike has to be scrapped 😭 The in between scenario is the bike has to be stripped to the frame, welded & rebuilt - a very expensive option. Damage caused by poor road surfaces & sleeping assassins sorry policemen 😡 DH is 😢, I am 😤 Anyway he will know in about an hour or so & will phone & let me know 🤞Just need to wait & see. DH just phoned (13:35) - the damage is not structural 🥳 DH is as over the moon as I am.
3secondmemory what a wise decision - nothing much can ever be done on the weekend when it comes to officialdom 😔 Well done on tackling the lawn in stages - conserves energy & is a good way of confirming your hard work as you are doing it 👏 The Art History talk sounds wonderful 🙂 Will you be watching again 😉
Nice to see you mothernerd 👋 Hopefully you are on the mend now. Excellent work all round - measured & paced. Your mum is very lucky to have you & such good friends & loving family. The amount of work you get through (especially in the garden) absolutely astounds me & is an inspiration to us all 👏 Medals 🏅 🏅 🏅 for tip tripper, DS2 & his gf.
I am awarding you 2 Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ - one for the amount of work you got through even whilst unwell & one for your organisational skills in the garden 👏 Btw the inside of your shed sounds like a work of art 🙂 Can I ask how big it is?
Great work Rootle 👏 you are definitely on a roll 🙂👏
threepenny_bit, a Bank Holiday in Canada but only 6 ☹️ compared to our 8 in England. I was curious & looked it up 😉 You have been busy 👏 & seem to be the correct person to ask about crab apples 😉🤞 Can I use them in making my green tomato chutney? Sorry to hear about the car ☹️ Everything crossed🤞 that the extra work will be reasonably priced 🤞
Good work ilovetea 👏 Every item out is a win 👏
Excellent work Finstickle 👏 A tidy & clean home after 3 hours - you are a whirling dervish 👏 who has gained a medal 🏅 What a great idea re toddler clothing - filling a box & then sorting in one go 👏
See you later - DH is back 🙂

2 are called Super stats and I dont know why the different provinces choose certain ones. If you work super stats you get 2 1/2 x normally for the bank holiday!
I use crab apples in my rhubarb chutney every year and it is great. We dont get the nice sour bramley apples that I used to put in chutney so crab apple is a great alternative. Then the rest of the apples I put in slow cooker, then push them through a sieve once cooked and use it as apple puree. The puree is pink as I leave the skin on the apples.11 -

Absolutely brilliant news EnergyShifter 🙂 Well done on the decluttering 👏 Hopefully now that your DS is coming home you will have the time & energy to pick up a bit more paying work 🤞
Excellent work Finstickle 👏 Very impressed that once you make a de ision you get on with it 👏Good luck with the selling 🤞
Well done GrannyKate 👏 I have been throwing in a handful of soda crystals with each wash - reducing detergent & keeping smells at bay 🤞

So, it remained sunny & hot all day. Let DH have a coffee then we resumed work in the garden 🙂 DH laid on the ground & put in the 30 brick platform (I was the gopher - getting all the tools he needed, passing him newly dusted bricks & disposing of all the slugs that moved in overnight 😱) - bedding them into the soil and the sand that we added. I then brushed in lots of sand to fill the gaps. Slopes very slightly left to right but it will do the job 👏 We will lay the slabs tomorrow & move onto the next section. We also composted the gone to seed lettuce & soil + I moved slabs closer to their final resting place & also tidied up bits of garden furniture + returned the old unused bricks to the large stack. Not as much done as yesterday but more physical & the day was hotter. Yes we were wearing our hats & drinking lots 🙂 Had a nice chat with ndn who had unfortunately broken his 2nd vacuum leaf blower 😬 DH & I then a nice chat with the neighbour across the road - he has one ginormous red tomato on the plants I donated & cannot wait to pick, slice thinly & have in a sandwich with a thin slice of ham - he was almost drooling 🤤 Invited him into our garden to inspect our sadly still green tomatoes 😉 none of which are the size of his red tomato 😉 ☹️ Chatted for a few minutes then he went to play football with his son. Dinner was pork steaks, mash & cabbage for DH & DSis. I had some los from freezer & fridge heated up in a frying pan - wouldn’t you know it - pork medallions in mushroom Marsala sauce, boiled potatoes & added lo spaghetti bolognese - very tasty & went together surprisingly well 🤔 + more to the point I have a little wiggle room in the freezer 😉 Will do the washing up etc after watching Silent Witness.

1689 - 1690 Kitchen detritus, garden detritus - binned
Very interesting threepenny_bit 🙂 (Google was a bit naff then 😉) Definitely approve of the Super stats pay scale 😉😉👏 Thanks for the info about crab apples - I will be sending DH off to collect a bucket full 😉

Hi, Thank You for your kind words Mrs SD.
Nothing done for me, I feel dreadful. Went for a covid test today, no result yet.
Work yesterday where my predicament doesn't improve. I think I have decided to give my notice tomorrow. I have thought of nothing else last night and all day. I don't get paid enough to be raising someone else's child. I am disappointed in myself that I got very cross yesterday after a load of back chat and door slamming.
