Busy few days but nothing decluttered at home. DH, DS3 and myself prepped the ground and raised the shed on my friends (now mine too) allotment. This included removing 24 slabs from mine which formed the edges of a vege bed. They were like that when I took it over and I left them as they looked good covered in moss. We also took a load of sand from home reusing compost bags to bed the slabs down in. It all went quite smoothly.
The comittee have extended my section of the plot by 2 feet as there is a grass 'path' between my bit and the next plot that hadn't been kept by the neighbours.
Lots more to do by the end of September, both moving stuff in and planting seedlings I have been growing for winter. Most of what I am growing will be over by then. I am time limited though as I have less than three available weeks to sort it all out.
I am looking forward to my holidays which start on Friday.
Today I am taking some items to the charity shop amd cleaning the downstairs.

Hi,
Sterling news about DS Energy Shifter. Positive for all of you.xx
Today the house looks very similar to the day we moved in. Worse in a way, the stair wall is half deconstructed. The bedroom furniture is in situ. It had to be stripped right down and the wall stripped and the banister off to get it in the room. It took about 4 hours. Mr V, DS and DD1 deserve a medal. I kept out of the way as I have no strength anymore so no use at all as it is extremely heavy. I think I can forget about having a new carpet ,probably for ever! I also think two wardrobes are too much but will wait a while till I announce I want one of them out again! I do however like the furniture very much. Not my usual vibe at all. Just need to find some curtains now, and I think a dark curtain pole instead of the white one.
The old divan bed has gone to the tip. The rest of the furniture is shoved in the spare room and the drawers from the divan and their contents are in the bath! I have plenty to keep me occupied but I think I will go to craft club later for a change of scene. Haha.
DD1 brought the car boot sale remains back and they are currently shoved on the sofa. She also brought me £48 which is great as I told her to sell it cheap to get rid of it. She is on a massive declutter whether she gets the job in Scotland or not. We will try to do one more car boot sale this year.
Capsule wardrobe, hmmm. When I worked full time I found that I wore more or less 3 weeks worth of clothes in rotation with a cardigan for winter! Now I wear more outdoor type clothes for work and scruffs in the house and garden. So that leaves a lot of aspirational me clothes that I rarely wear. I try to dress smart at least once a week as we try to have a day out somewhere. I keep trying tops on and finding I don't like them or they are too big/too small. Same for coats,I rarely wear a coat , so have got rid of loads. I seem to have a full drawer of scarves though. Maybe I wore them when I was fatter to cover up but I haven't worn one for a long time. Saying that has made me think I could have a cull there. Some tidying up first though methinks!

709. 2 dresses

711. kingsize divan bed

wort said:Newly wed , if you are looking to minimal wardrobe, check out project 333.I didn’t do it but sounds a good way to condense clothes down and see how little you actually wear, it involves choosing 33 items for perhaps a season, and seeing how little you actually need. I think some people in the forums have tried it, but a quick search of internet will bring it up.
personally I only have black boots and shoes and a pair of nude “heels” and a pair of tan boots. But it will depend on what colors suit you and maybe that’s something you can find better when you minimize your wardrobe.I’m lucky to have lots of wardrobe space😉 but could certainly do with losing some clothes again.! Good luckIt is really helpful though and I have worn the same 6 patterned skirts to work for 3 months without anyone passing any comment beyond, I like that skirt.
I find at the end of three months there is often something i have hardly worn or don’t really want to wear and so it goes.…and I have so many scarves and gloves that I never count those in my 333…. So those will also need some work, although now I am down to two decent coats it should be a bit easier.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?9 -

Apologies for not posting for a couple of days ☹️ Sunday I woke up feeling really rough - thick head, blocked sinuses & low level nauseous + achy limbs. Felt so out of it I don’t even know what the weather was like ☹️ DH ordered Chinese for dinner & I managed about a third of my meal - at the same time remembering I needed to start taking a penicillin based antibiotic to get rid of a gum infection before dentist visit to extract tooth.Cut a long story short within an hour I was itching for England ☹️ Ran a hottish bath & DH took a picture of my back - covered in a rash. Stayed in the bath for about 1.5 hours & joy of joys the hot water sweated out the one pill I had taken & rash cleared. DH & I were both worried but ecstatic that the rash went 🙂 Shame the rest of it didn’t 😔 Anyway DSis did the washing up so I had a lovely surprise when I got up Monday. Still feeling ropey so bit of toast for lunch, 3 hours sleep late afternoon then up & watched some TV, had a cheese sandwich, did the wu & left to dry & back to bed about midnight. Restless night but got up 8:00 a.m. Tuesday feeling less nauseous but with an earache ☹️ Anyway, I will stop feeling sorry for myself 😉 but will have a last day of doing nothing 😉

Thanks for that Liverpool_Anne - a guacamole recipe & a salsa recipe 👏
Not sure how the minimal wardrobe works either threepenny_bit 😉 Good decluttering 👏
Good work balabooberlies 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on it’s way 🙂
What a wonderful week GrannyKate 🙂 A full house but family pitching in 👏 Your previous decluttering has put you in good stead for tidying up quickly after so many visitors 👏 and how lovely that your 6 year old DGS is so caring 😉 Good work on the decluttering 👏 Another one of those laws of physics like toast landing buttered side down ☹️ The amount of work you have done since all your visitors left is phenomenal 👏 you appear to have fully charged your Life Batteries 🙂 Pleased to hear that the tooth/face pain is almost gone 🙂👏 Well done on resisting opening your purse 😉
Brilliant work Gers 👏 Having taken your time sorting the jumpers you won’t be tempted to go back into the bags 😉 Re tackling the cupboard slowly - it obviously works 🙂👏
Emm-in-a-pickle, what a lovely picture you painted of little dog bouncing around to persuade you to take him walkies 🙂 Sounds like a wise investment for peace of mind 🙂
Love the story about DS & the Buckaroo 😂 What a great way to use Justins 👏 - your new log store is going to be a thing of beauty 🙂👏
Lovely to see you leelad 🙂 Hopefully you used your week off to recharge your Life Batteries & take care of yourself a little 🤞 Ashamed to say that I was unaware of Yorkshire Sculpture Park 😔 so I looked it up - what a wonderful place 🙂 and it sounds like you had an absolutely brilliant time 🙂👏 Not sure that DH & I are fit enough yet to go round the whole park but it is something to add to our list of places to visit 🙂 Sorry to hear that your wife is not doing so well at the moment but with your Love & support hopefully things will even out 🤞Great work on the sales 👏 & fingers crossed that the indoor boot sales will start up soon 🤞 Whilst I remember, a Happy Birthday to your daughter 🎂 🎉
TC77, pleased to hear that DD1 is slowly settling 🙂 Well done on persevering with one declutter project at a time 👏 I have been a bit remiss in gold star allocation 😔 so one Gold Star ⭐️ is on it’s way. Keeping everything crossed that hospitals take back excess items - seems so wasteful ☹️ Surely it is common sense to take everything back, clean & check that everything is OK & then pass on to new patients 🙄 Very well done on tackling frogs 👏
vulpix, I hope DD1 was successful at the car boot 🤞as she will be more likely to do it again 😉 After all the decorating & hopefully successful furniture relocation 👏 you deserve a rest 🙂 Shame that you weren’t filmed but hopefully MrV will have his few minutes of fame so don’t forget to record it 😉 Thanks for confirming that Yorkshire Sculpture Park is as good as it looks 👏 At least you are making an effort to redecorate & declutter - we have been in our home for over 20 years & have only redecorated once apart from DSis’s room which was redecorated a 2nd time before she moved in 😉 You are on a roll & with DD1 on side you will succeed 🙂👏 Still keeping everything crossed 🤞 that DD1 gets the job in Scotland. Now that you are slimmer you probably need the scarves to keep you warm 😉😉
Wednesday2000, it is not called ‘neglecting the housework & decluttering’ it is called “recharging your Life Batteries” 🙂 and it obviously worked 👏 You have been a whirling dervish & got lots done 👏
Great work -taff 👏 not only decluttering lots of paperwork but also decluttering the need for a shouty heating man 👏 very MSE 👏🙂 Your poor cats - they will think they have gone mad 😉😉 Mice are very cute as long as they are Not in your home 🙂
What a lovely weekend OWD_nana 🙂 & hopefully a few more in the future 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏 Hopefully a nice visit from a friend will help you to feel not quite so flat 🙂
So pleased for you & your DS, EnergyShifter 🙂 It sounds like the daily visit is working wonders for you both 🙂 Hopefully the Consultant will extend the hours 🤞Btw Great decluttering 👏
newlywed, Well done on reaching decisions re your clothing & accessories 👏
No charge left on iPad so will be back later 🙂

Lots been going on over the last week, glad to hear positive news on a number of fronts!
I managed to list some items on EBay before going on holiday so 3 sold items out the door today.
I also took a bag of material to the textile recycling before holidays and threw away a running belt I never use anymore
116/365 now
I'm back now and working through the piles of washing that are inevitable. I have more items listed for sale and put a load of books on a local free site which will hopefully go pretty quickly.
I wish I had the energy/time to do more as the current mess (from holiday kit - the bad bit about van camping rather than a hotel), but trying to remind myself that rest is important. I had hoped to get more done over the weekend, however I'd booked a trip to Bristol on Sunday and unexpectedly met up with some old friends yesterday as they are staying locally on their holiday.

Mrs SD, what a horrible couple of days you`ve had, every right to feel sorry for yourself - hope you`re feeling better now,Energy Shifter, so glad to hear your DS is making progress and his home visits are going so well.Re wardrobe decluttering, I need to do something about mine, but not till I`m done with final stages of what comes back into LR and what leaves the house! I`ve a lot of stuff that doesn`t fit anymore but some items that I bought or made years ago and still love the fabric - there`s a circular skirt that I`m going to make into a top, and another skirt, pastel striped lineny stuff that will also make a nice top. That`s 2 sewing projects for winter, ready for next summer, and when I do a proper wardrobe clearance I`ll probably find a few more that still spark enough joy/have enough fabric in them to make into something else, ( I first learned to sew by doing this) but I `m sure there`s lots of stuff that I`ll look at and wonder why it`s even there at all!Yesterday I did my `bodge` for the back of the new log shelter, and I`m really pleased with the result. It`s really sturdy, held together with large cable ties (I LOVE cable ties) and looks ok too. I took a low stool outside, put it on the base and sat on that to secure the lower bits, that made life a bit easier. So that`s the old nursery fireguard re-purposed, and the bargain- buy slatted bamboo screening half used.11

ruby_eskimo, I do love those types of conversation that one has with oneself 😉 The Angel & the devil 😉 What a great weekend - building a workbench which bearing in mind you & DH used off cuts plus the ply means that you did do some decluttering 👏
Thanks for the info on project 333, wort 👏
bit_by_bit, sounds like a successful weekend 👏 half an allotment plot + 2ft 🙂 I have every confidence that all the initial work will be done by the end of September 😉 Enjoy your holiday 🙂
newlywed, well done on project 333 👏 Seems a bit mean having to include jewellery ☹️ As to the scarves & gloves you can have them all over the place - in the car, in your shopping bag, in your coat pockets 😉 then you will always be ready if the weather turns 🤣
Excellent work greent 👏
Finstickle, “ I wish I had the energy/time to do more as the current mess (from holiday kit - the bad bit about van camping rather than a hotel), but trying to remind myself that rest is important. Emm-in-a-pickle, today is my last day of laziness - still in my dressing gown but definitely feeling a lot better 🤞You are a very good seamstress 👏 - my sewing skill is limited to a bit of darning & sewing on buttons 😉 but I do have 2 old manual sewing machines which I am hoping to bring into use 🤞😉 Excellent work on the log store 👏 - especially as you like it & are proud of the work 👏🙂
Forgot to mention that yesterday DH trimmed the front hedge & fed the worms 🙂

Mrs S.D.
thank you for my gold star, I needed it. 3 days of very unwell Tiggy. Middle of the night voiding of bowels, vomitting. Couldn't afford out of hours vet (bank holiday weekend) so I spent my time nursing, cuddling and showering her. Was afraid when last night there appeared to be blood. In the end the vet believes she has picked up bacteria so nothing sinister. I have to admit that I felt as if the world was beating me up.
I want to stay here and get on with everything but my Dad wants me back.
So sorry you have been so unwell. Huge healing hugs for you...........
