Think I've caught up with most posts, keep reading and mean to post and then can't remember whether I have
@EnergyShifter so pleased for you that your son is able to come home to visit and length increasing.
Love hearing about all the new borns.. so llovely and bring such joy.
Feeling abit overwhelmed, dad v frail and his alarm keeping going off, back home and DD1 has just arrived back with van of things. We have so many steps and she's non weight bearing, and v stressed and anxious when at home, DD2 helped her for hours and hours pack and clear her rented room and isn't looking forward to being beckoned and called by DD1 all the time. I have to stay at home to minimise but has meant a tidy up.
2 sets of curtains hanging down in places sorted, with old hooks binned and new ones installed
lots of packaging
small bits and pieces off floor in 3 rooms hoovered and dusted
non working phone cable
2 admin frogs
5 admin frog/CS donations at my dad's
Lots of paper decluttered - mainly dd2 but I sorted (count as 1)
3 x out of date food last couple of days
Hoover collected, I picked up free and don't need.
Old bank card cut up
Total 20
Plan to donate some good, and brand new clothes to higher end CS rather than try and sell, will count when I have as can be hard to part with never worn things!11 -

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Saturday continued overcast with a couple of very light & short showers. I sorted today’s mail & filed a few bits of paperwork. Watched 5 minutes of a series I had recorded & couldn’t get on with it so deleted all 8 episodes sight unseen 😉 Dinner was from the freezer - cottage pie mix & cheesy mash but had to add extra mash + peas. No los 🙂 DSis has spent the whole day in her room apart from coming down for dinner & to make hot drinks. I have used a spare box to package one of the baby blankets i knitted. Will do the wudupa before bedtime 😉
1630 - 1633 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, paper packaging, large cardboard box - recycled
1634 Kitchen detritus - binned
1635 Cardboard box & wrapping paper for baby blanket
TC77 good luck with the trouser hunt 🤞Had to laugh at your dad’s enquiry about trendy undies 😂 98 & still has a sense of fun 👏🙂 Sorry to hear about DD1’s flat falling through. Not ideal coming to you but at least she is taking positive action re her MH & hopefully she will find a better flat 🤞Well done on the decluttering & tackling frogs 👏 I am keeping everything crossed that DD1 will not get overly stressed whilst living with you & DD2 🤞 & that the MH appointment will help her. As to the brand new clothes don’t be too quick to donate as you obviously bought them for a reason 🙂
Liverpool_Anne, lovely post 🙂 Well done on keeping your bedroom clutter free 👏 Lots of decluttering & cleaning 👏 Excellent work on packing a big shop 👏 Can I be so bold as to ask which guacamole recipe you use? The last guacamole I made was slightly bland ☹️
Great work threepenny_bit 👏
You sound very happy GrannyKate 🙂 & well done only having to get one duvet cover 👏 Sounds like you have recharged your Life Batteries having so many of your family visiting with days out & being eaten out of house & home 😉 A joyous time 🙂
Emm-in-a-pickle, I had a lovely time 🙂 With all that hard work & what sounds like a beautifully decorated living room I have to comment that it doesn’t sound much like a bodge job 🙂 DS gets a big black mark against his name for not helping you once you had decided NOT to be profligate with your cash 👏 You however have proved to yourself that you can decorate & are also pretty good at it 👏 One Huge Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way 🙂 Has your DS admitted the room looks good or is he still sulking? 😉 Btw the log burner sounds wonderful - efficient, clean & cheaper to run 👏 Another person who has made me blush ☺️ You are definitely on a roll Emm 👏 I knew it - success breeds success 🙂 - indoor log store & log baskets filled & just one splinter 👏, outdoor log store filled & new log store erected with no relationship damage 😉👏 and only took 6 hours 😉 Not sure where these companies get their figures from 🤔 because they never seem realistic & are nearly always proved wrong 😑 Fish’n’chips & a glass of wine - what a great celebration of your success 😉👏🙂
Great work Gers 👏 a trip to Oban, books & table linen gone, floor rugs to a neighbour AND sorting some of DM’s paperwork 👏 Receipts for 1957 & 1968 for items still in use - well built originally & then well cared for by your DM - that really is money saving 🥳
Good work on the paperwork decluttering oceanspirit 👏 One medal 🏅 coming your way for the huge success in cancelling the clothes order 👏🙂 My observation is that you can probably ‘shop from’ your 2 wardrobes & 2 CofD 🙃
Floss, they certainly built furniture to last - especially impressed by the bed 🙂 👏 One medal 🏅 coming your way for the epic journey 👏 Your office attire sounds very Gothic 😉 but practical & comfortable 🙂
Sounds like fun vulpix 🙂 will we see you on the telly? Btw not boring posting your intentions 🙂 braver than I am but agree that if intentions are posted more likely to complete the tasks 😉
ruby_eskimo, fingers crossed that the cs will take your hangers 🤞I bet you can hardly wait to cuddle your friend’s baby 😉 Excellent use of tv time - nowadays I tend to do something else whilst watching TV 😉 but quite agree that shredding has to wait for ad breaks 🙂 Hope you did treat yourself to a long luxurious bath 🙂
Good work Happy_Kitties 👏
Almost caught up but am posting now so I don’t lose this epic 😉

Great work short_bird 👏 Over 1500 so a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🙂 Congratulations on getting a 2nd interview 🥳
nannywindow, great description of decluttering 🙂👏 “it’s not a sprint, just a very, very, very long and exhausting marathon” Absolutely nothing wrong with treating yourself to coffee & cake 🙂 The thing is when things drop into your trolley they are supposed to save work rather than create extra work 😉 Fancy getting rid of your ‘interesting’ fringe - surely it was cutting edge 🤣 Maybe DD will go on a training course 🤞so that DH can have some help on your boating holiday 😉 Remember all you have to do is sit/lie on deck with a good book & a glass of wine 😉 Your dad sounds like a real character 🙂 You must have been imagining the downstairs flooded & your dad swimming around 😅 More blackberries - I am so jealous 😉 The ongoing training of your DH appears to be working 🙂 👏
Lovely to see you newlywed 👋 🤩 You have been busy 👏 I am mightily impressed with your methods for culling your clothes, thank you for sharing and I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ So much stuff being released to the wild & you are starting on your shoes 👏
What brilliant news EnergyShifter 🙂 Your DS being allowed to visit must mean that he is definitely on the road to recovery 👏 Don’t forget to refill the fridge 🙃
bit_by_bit, ‘funsponge’ what an excellent & politer description of a toxic person 😉 Shame about the CS boss having covid ☹️ Your allotment plans are quite extensive & you will definitely need a holiday 🙂
skogar, always an advantage to have OH on board 👏🙂 makes tidying/decluttering easier 🙂 I would definitely take it slowly after all you wouldn’t want your sister to have nothing to do 😉😉 The ‘landmarks’ thing is to do with something called the Round Britain Rally mainly for motorcyclists (but as we are all getting older three wheeler cars & vintage cars are also allowed) Each year the organiser picks 80 to 90 landmarks encompassing England, Scotland & Wales - you then take a picture including your vehicle & gain points for each landmark. The event runs for 6 months, then you send in all your photos electronically. They are collated & a final points total dictates what award (wooden plaque) you will receive. Landmarks range from castles to statues, bridges to lighthouses, ancient stones to wells. The advantage is that you get to see places you would never think to visit. Thank you for the suggestion to newlywed 👏
Yippee - I have caught up 🙂🙂
Hugs to everyone who needs or even wants one 🙂

@Mrs SD, well I don't follow a recipe as such for guacamole, or much else to be honest, I usually adjust according to what I have in but this time I had 3 avocado, 7 spring onions finely sliced, 10 baby plum tomatoes finely chopped, 6 cloves of garlic squished and a small pot of creme fraish, (you can also use sour cream instead), all mashed together with the juice from a lime. I am allergic to chilli but I think most recipes say add chilli so you can add enough to zing it up to your taste. Try a small amount and if it's not enough add a bit more and remix. I find the garlic gives a good bit of flavour without overpowering the flavour of the avocado. I also left a few small pieces of avocado so it wasn't smooth which I like but you might like a smoother texture. I did plan to freeze some but it has all been eaten. I like it spread on wholemeal toast so OH and I have had it for lunch every day
I also made a chilli free salsa with chopped tomatoes, chopped red onion, finely sliced spring onion and dressed with a spoonful of tomato ketchup mixed with the juice from half a lime. You can also add garlic but as I had used quite a bit in the guacamole I left it out. The tomato ketchup gives it a bit of a tang from the vinegar in it
I have done a bit more decluttering but am too tired to post that now as I have been watching the Paralympics and I can hardly keep my eyes open so will post about that tomorrow
Take care everyone12 -
newlywed said:Can I ask if anyone has worked towards a minimal wardrobe though? I have an issue with shoes bags and coats matching my outfit… I think I am over the coat bit now…. But feel I may need to let go of either black, brown or navy shoes and bags and can’t decide at all! Summer I can do nude shoes and sandals… but the rest I need help with… and I won’t even mention matching jewellery just yet!11
