Comments

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
In the end, Friday was dry all day but with a chilly breeze. Wrote a 5 day menu plan also a small shopping list & sent DH to sm 😉 Repaired 4 T-shirts before folding & putting away 🙂 Starting to get back into the swing of things so I cooked dinner - sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes. Also wudupa before going to bed 😉 As an aside, DSis’s specific milk was unavailable in MrS so she went out to A*da but had to buy something else - I did notice that her specific milk is from a Danish company 🤔
Saturday is dry but overcast. DH has watched the MotoGP practices & before qualifying starts he has removed the bucket of zizzed worm food from the garage & added to the compost bin (it was ponging a lot so didn’t think the worms would appreciate it 😉) I am currently clearing down more programmes from TV planner.
1624 - 1628 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard packaging x 2, newspaper - recycled
1629 Kitchen detritus - binned
3secondmemory, you really are in the wars ☹️ However the silver lining to be unable to walk easily has resulted in you becoming Mrs Fix-It 👏🙂 & saving money at the same time 🥳 with the potential to earn a bit 🙂 As to your cs dress what a marvellous result - brave enough to buy it & now have an item of clothing that you absolutely love 💗 Now you just have to arrange an event to show off your excellent taste 😉 What a cutie ☺️ & Emilia is a lovely name 🙂 A profound sentiment “… more dedicated to building a better world” If we all did a bit then the world would be a better place. Ouch to the BT raid on your bank account 😣 but well done to you, the bank & BT for sorting it so quickly 👏 Hopefully you didn’t age too much in the time it took to sort it all out 🤞but I see you did ☹️ - not sure I would have coped as admirably as you did. You got your act together & dealt with it as soon as humanly possible 👏
As to the ‘toxic friend’ as soon as you can disengage from her the better - life is way too short to have our good energy sucked from us & I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for starting the process.Good luck with the car boot sale 🤞hopefully the weather will be good & many people will turn up with full purses/wallets ready to spend 🤞Excellent work with the plastic crates & containers 👏 - I think you forget how well you are doing & as far as selling goes I believe you need to be in the right frame of mind to start & you are not quite there yet 😉 Setting targets can be very draining - so doing what you can & like doing is the way to go 🙂 I am dead chuffed that you are realising that you are a strong woman & adapting your life in just 3 years is a testament to that strength 🙂 and you should celebrate your success with the help of another Gold Star ⭐️ 😉
EnergyShifter, a very productive day - lots of decluttering 👏 & so nice that you are on good terms with the exH - putting your DS first. More great decluttering 👏 & as to keeping boxes of various sizes I am definitely guilty as charged 😉 However I do keep them & use to post bits & pieces to family & friends - well that is my excuse & I am sticking to it 😉😅 You made me blush 😊 What a marvellous thing to happen - the release of DS’s tenancy agreement - one less thing to cause stress 🙂
No charge left so will be back later 🙂

Not much done this week - apart from decluttering a day & a half and 575 miles driving a hire van to help DS1 move his partner from Hertfordshire to Yorkshire.11 -
Hello all, lovely to see all the new babies 👶🏽I haven't really done much decluttering lately but I have to keep reminding myself that it's not a sprint, just a very, very, very long and exhausting marathon 🏃🏽♀️ 😁This week we treated ourselves to coffee and a naughty cake at the garden centre and some items fell into the trolley... oops ! Some bamboo canes to make a frame for my new climbing plants, 4 extra solar lights for the front garden steps and a few bags of York stone chippings/gravel, to add to those already down. Oh how I love to make work for myself !! I started taking the old chippings off the weed control stuff to find it had disintegrated in parts, so up it came and was binned. ( Luckily I have some left over weed stuff in my shed ) Sadly though I had to cut down part of one of the peris plants to get underneath as I was afraid I might lose an eye. Today I extracted the lo weed material from the shed to find that some 4 legged visitors 🐭 have chewed some of it...... pesky blighters ! Hopefully there will be enough left to do the job. All the old chipping are now laid out on some plastic on the patio, they are so full of dirt and moss they will have to be riddled, not something I was expecting to do 🤔Yesterday I decluttered some money having a long and awaited haircut/trim, it's been 2 years 😱 It's still long but my fringe which I had been cutting myself, is no longer looking like a map of the Andes 📈📉This morning we have decluttered money to DD as she has booked us all (6) on a boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads. Should be interesting as only DH has any boat driving experience and that's from years ago and I walk like a drunken sailor on dry land let alone a boat....... I can bounce off anything especially walls 🤣 WoMan overboard !! I hope DD is bootless by then as she and SIL will need to jump on and off tying up the lines. Whatever happens it will be fun to spend some family time together. This morning we had a 999 call from my 91 yo Dad as he had a flood in his conservatory, 😱 We jumped in the car ( he's only 5 mins away ) to find him paddling in an inch of water and dragging a mop around. So DH had to tighten an isolating valve, which Dad swore he had never touched ....... except to turn it on 😏. Meanwhile I rescued his soaking wet runner carpets, put them outside to dry and mopped the floor. While we were there we also sorted out some other disasters he had created too ! We seem to be the 4th emergency service 🛴 !!I picked more blackberries but didn't weigh them this time and after washing they went straight into the freezer. DH has just thrown a USB hub in the bin. Wow !! I think he's getting the message not to keep everything that breaks just for Justin 👏🏽 I may keep him a while longer now 🤣Take care all and hugs to those in need for any reason, seems there are quite a few on here 💙nan

Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with the thread at all!
last month I took a large bag of clothes and yarn to a local charity shop.
a couple of weeks ago I went to the office for the first time since COVID. Left one pair of shoes in my desk and took 3 pairs of sandals out… took them home and stuck the, straight in the bin - besides having a lingering odor, i just can’t face the thought of wearing sandals that aren’t totally comfy. Also ditched lots of out of date tea and snacks. Brought my Plastic drinks bottle and containers home to properly wash them. Leaving my desk looking very neat and only leaves papers to sort and shred when I next go in.
just been through my clothes again this morning and have 8 tops, 3 jumpers, four skirts, and a coat all sorted out to go to either charity or family.I have some methods now for getting rid of clothes that I feel attached to but that are too big for me. I put them in a separate pile at the bottom of the wardrobe. I debate whether they are worthy of being altered. Then about a month later I see if I missed them and how many other clothes I would wear before them even if they did fit.It mostly seems to then be “so long and thanks for all the fish”.
The other one I’ve been doing is asking myself if I was to suddenly leave my home, what would I definitely pack and what would i immediately ditch?Goodbye horizontal stripe monochrome cardiganToday going through all my winter skirts that either fit or almost fit has made me cancel some saved searches on flea bay and cancel some watched items too. I also have three much loved skirts that finally fit again! Can I ask if anyone has worked towards a minimal wardrobe though? I have an issue with shoes bags and coats matching my outfit… I think I am over the coat bit now…. But feel I may need to let go of either black, brown or navy shoes and bags and can’t decide at all! Summer I can do nude shoes and sandals… but the rest I need help with… and I won’t even mention matching jewellery just yet!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?10 -
Oh… just discarded plimsolls and a pair of hiking boots with The inside padding round the heel worn completely away.
guess the blisters on my heels from other shoes have given me a rethink!
have 4 pairs of smart heels that are now on the debate list too… I love them but realistically couldn’t wear them for more than an hour or two.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?10 -

Congratulations @3secondmemory. So cute. Good on you for realising you don't have to run around after the 'funsponge' A term DS3 uses for people just like your friend and several of mine who have been left beind recently. Who needs them.
I have been busy all week so not really got as much done as I would have hoped. I have had a quick speed read of the thread. I can't rememeber it all but see lots being done.
The boss of the CS has covid so I have done an extra shift this week. I have also been prepping my friend's plot to receive a shed on Monday. More to do tomorrow with DH and DS2 and 3. I want all the slabs layed, rubbish and soil moved and the shed to be take down and over to the plots.
Once it is up on Monday I am going to plant a few winter crops on my new patches then just water as I am away for two weeks after that. My friend is going to have to water my green house.
I will need my holidays.

OH is on board with the tidying and we are gradually making progress - which is good - still a long way to go though. i ave reassured my sister we will still have plenty to do when she comes to visit. ;-)Sounds like you had a great holiday Mrs Salad Dodger. What is the "landmarks" thing that you are doing?Newlywed - It's difficult to advise without knowing what you wear but it may be useful to look at some of the websites and blogs that give advice about building a capsule wardrobe and then try and build one out of the pieces you already have. Hopefully then you will be able to work out what coats, shoes, bags and jewellery you have that will work with it and then you can look at any replacement pieces that you buy fitting in with your new scheme and get rid of anything that doesn't work. Even if you decide it's not a route you want to follow completely it might give you some ideas.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons12
