I have caught up on posts after a hectic week. The house is very quiet today. DS1 and DIL stayed overnight Friday making 4 adult and 4 teenage guests - amazing shoe clutter in my porch. DS1 cooked enormous breakfast for 13 on Saturday morning (local 4 came round) and DD cleared up afterwards. I had all 3 children, partners/spouses and 6 of my 8 grandchildren here. Great times had by all and enormous amounts of food decluttered.
The good thing was that when they had gone everything was easily put away as it had somewhere to go. Washing mostly done and dried in lovely sunny weather. I am going to try and wash the actual duvets one at a time if we get some more good weather. Littlest DGS decided to spend day with me yesterday as he didn't want me to be on my own (he's 6) Thats his story but we went to park, he helped with jobs round house and we had tea and sweets at local cafe. I then got meal at his house so no cooking yesterday. I may be eating leftovers but they didn't actually leave much!
Welcome to the world Emilia and other babies. Hugs to all who need them.
I am going to look at my bank account in a bit as have some things to pay.
1413 Smashed mug in bin (a nice one - you never drop the manky ones)
1414 Oldest DGSs pruned my plum tree and we discovered a crop of Victoria plums which I hadn't been aware were on the tree.
1415 Deleted lots of emails

Yesterday I decluttered two black bags of old jumpers, that took me a while as I held each one up and considered it carefully. All gone! The bags are in my boot ready to be taken to the CS on Tuesday. This morning I started to tackle a cupboard under the upstairs hall window - I've only gone in gingerly and pulled out old unused electrical items, these too are in the boot and I'll be taking them to the tip shortly. Amongst the stuff I've found a watch bought in 2013 and never worn, still boxed up. It's a Swarovski red Ice Watch, no idea why I bought it as it's really not my style so I'll probably send that to the CS too.

I was just about to post, when my little dog started jumping around(? saying `walkies first please!`) so I took him for a little walk, and on a grassy bit under large trees he suddenly lifted his front paw and started limping. Then walked a bit, limped some more...brought him home, examined from shoulder to paw pads, couldn`t see anything but he was guarding and lifting paw....looked scared and upset, so I rang out-of-hours vet, and took him up there - I`ve decluttered £72 to be told nothing is wrong with him, but he might have had a bee sting and the limp had gone when he was brought out to us. (Lesser charge as no treatment needed, but worth it to me for peace of mind.)Mrs SD, thankyou for my Gold Star, and no DS hasn`t actually complimented me on my room decorating, but isn`t sulking either, I think he really believed the old paper wasn`t salvageable. Some blokes don`t like being proved wrong... luckily we both have a similar sense of humour. He is quite tall, and bumps his head sometimes on my pans hanging from a high shelf and rail in the kitchen, so he had a good moan about small kitchen, too many pans (true) and "walking into a life-size Buckaroo" every time he goes in there. A bit later he was looking for a certain frying pan that is usually kept under the grill, but I`d washed it and hung it up. I told him `it`s on the Buckaroo, bottom left.`, and now the name has stuck, we went from an argument to a family joke.I made a chicken Madras curry yesterday for this evening, whilst cooking yesterday`s meal (cheese & onion bread & butter pudding made with garlic bread slices, and some roast tomatoes and ham.) I like curry to have time to fester and develop, so glad I did that. I`ve had an idea for the back of new logshelter, involving an old nursery fireguard (dismantled), cable ties, and some slatted bamboo screening from closing down sale at local Poundstretcher. So far I`ve got the fireguard bits in place, but that`s all. I`m still at the design stage, my bodge ideas are like my curries, they need time to brew and fester! I`m going to go and sit outside now and just look at it, and the bits I`m thinking of using, have a glass or three of wine, and take no further action till I`ve slept on it, then go for it tomorrow!11

Evening MrsSD and fellow declutterers, not been on for a couple of weeks, had a week off work (it was ok, didn't do that much). Visited Yorkshire Sculpture Park which I would definitely recommend if anyone is in that area. Wife's mental health up and down at the moment, our daughter goes back to school on Wednesday, so I will be keeping a close eye on her. Back to decluttering, sold our daughter's old bike, helmet and stabilisers to a good friend of ours from our gardening group last week. She has a 3 year old daughter, so the sale made sense. That created some space in my outdoor storage box, so that got decluttered yesterday, threw out some empty compost bags and some netting. Looking much better now. Decluttered the container garden out in the front yard, swept up and sorted all the empty pots. Had to declutter a large Brussel sprout plant which got taken over by caterpillars 🐛☹️ definitely need to improve on pest control next year. Sold our daughters old clock as well to the same lady who purchased her old bookcase. Learnt two things about online selling so far, it's good to keep in touch with your sellers and let them know if anything new cones up, and there are some people who msg you who are time wasters. That's why I sold the bike to someone I knew. It's hard work online selling, waiting for answers on a couple of things, hopefully get back to car booting indoor in the winter, cheers 🙂13

Strange day yesterday with all the visitors gone. Bedding all washed so putting that away today and perhaps some cleaning.
1416 - Emptied ironing basket - had board out for sewing with DGD2 last week and realised it would be sensible to iron the things in basket - only pillow cases and an odd shirt but all done and put away.
1417 - Bank accounts done - lots of spending and not much saving in August.
1418 - Membership renewal done
1419 - Shredding
1420 - 1423. Giving myself 4 points for mowing both lawns then running electric scarifier over them. Garden bin now full and I have a bag of stuff to drop off at tip.
1424 - Stuff taken to co-op new plastic recycling bin. I've started a separate collection bag for this.
1425 - Trimmed some bushes and trees
I have almost decluttered the toothache/face pain. Just the odd echo of it now and I have stopped taking the pain killers. I took more in the last month than the last 10 years.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi Everyone,
Gosh this thread moves fast. Best wishes to all in need.xxx I am particularly pleased that you have had a bit of help Mothernerd.
Yesterday DD1 did a car boot sale on her own. We took her the table at 7am and a bag of stuff to sell from out of the shed. We then had a gruelling day at work ,luckily all customers very nice which makes a big difference. Today I have almost lost my voice from talking to people at work yesterday.
We have a BIG job to do today. I bought bedroom furniture (new to me) which we hired a van for and picked up on Saturday. We just chucked it through the front door to get the van back on time ,came back and had a BBQ with our neighbours. It is chunky stuff and most will need some dismantling and rebuilding to get it in situ. DD1 and DS are visiting today. Both don't mind mucking in, I raised them in my own image hahaha.
Now the decorating is finished and when the furniture is upstairs I hope things settle down a bit. I like having stuff to do but it's been relentless for a couple of months .
There will be no sightings of me on the telly Mrs SD. Mr V should be there though! Unless they cut him!
I will update numbers later.
