Hi all, hugs to all who need them,
@EnergyShifter really good news about your DS, it might be a long road but he seems to be making wonderful progress, long may it continue
@short_bird great news on the job, hope it all goes well for you
Well today I visited a flooring shop and have a man coming out to measure up for laminate type flooring in my back living room and hall which means they need emptying of all the clutter . He is coming on Friday afternoon and I am out to lunch tomorrow and have a medical appt on Friday morning so I am going to be like a whirling dervish at some point to get it done. He's also going to measure the stairs and landing for carpet. Currently I have bare floorboards in all these areas and have had for 2 years after I decided to get rewired and replastered, also had a log burner put in but then got hit with a shortage of money and by the time I had the money we were in lockdown and I was sheilding and wfh. Only just got the energy to go and choose the flooring, I am not good at making quick decisions
I had to have a repeat blood test today and tried to get them to use the right arm but they couldn't get it and had to go back to my left and I think it is still sore from last time and it hurt again. I was sporting matching plasters for the rest of the day and both arms are still sore and bruised.
Take care everyone12 -
Morning all - hugs to everyone needing them especially you Mrs SD.
I put all the bedding away in plastic zip up bags (I already had them lying around). I now have three complete sets (Duvet, pillows, cover, sheets and pillowcases) for the single beds and they have a place to live. The 4th set went back on the bed as I use that for local DGCs regularly. I have two king size beds and have 2 spare duvets for those and sofa bed and several covers. Apart from buying the single quilt cover the only thing I was short of was pillows - couple more would have been good for my mass visit last week. Saw some at Mr M - 2 for £4 made from recycled plastic bottles. A bargain as they are only likely to be used once or twice a year. A manky pillow and 2 damaged mattress covers to tip.
1430 August photos downloaded and sorted to folders
1431 Unsubscribed from several emails - not sure I signed up for them

DS2 is coming this morning to build last bits of my dining room units which arrived from Swedish place yesterday. The replacement light cover for my car (Damaged when they were changing light bulb) should be available today so hoping DS2 will come with me to get that fitted. Quiz this morning. I had better get dressed as DS2 will be here after they take children for first day back at school.
Weather is very dreary - no sign of any heatwave they keep promising.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi,
Mrs SD I am sorry to hear that you have not been well. Here's hoping that you are fighting fit now. You do such an amazing thing here, keeping us all in praise and encouragement. right back atcha with all that. xxx
Well done short_ bird, enjoy your new job.
Everyone is working so hard. I find it inspirational and I don't think I would do as much without hearing about everyones successes. People mention something and it prompts me to think about something that I haven't thought about before. So Thank You everyone.
Work yesterday. They are filming in the village. There is a whisper of Game of Thrones.
Today I will put all our clothes into the new wardrobes and drawers. The clothes rail will go in the shed and one set of drawers sold and the other in the spare room. I have a blanket box in the process of restoration. Possibly keep in the spare room or sell when it is finished. I would also like to find some curtains from the spare room. The ones I loved but they didn't fit the windows at the old house. They might fit here! I also need to decide what to do with the 4 drawers from the divan bed. Currently in the bath with all our shoes and wrapping paper/ gift bags in them. I am toying with the idea of using the wood from the 4 drawers to make 2 under bed drawers. It does seem a lot of work though. Perhaps the shoes will go in the bottom of the wardrobe. Mine at least are in those plastic storage boxes so will stack.
Right, action.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
The only task I completed Wednesday p.m. was to feed all the tomato plants & give the garden a really good soaking. The weather might be turning to Autumn- overcast, chilly & breezy but happily no rain. Dinner was chicken soup for DSis & cheesy baked beans on toast with a fried egg on top for me. Wudupa.
1653 - 1656 Kitchen recycling, paper packaging, cardboard box, newspaper - recycled
1657 - 1659 Kitchen detritus, office detritus, broken plastic plant pot - binned

Thank you for the hugs GrannyKate 👏 The mass visit sounds like it was fun 🤩 Well done on packing away all the bedding - talk of ziplock bags reminds me that I have some somewhere & should use them to tidy up/compress my spare bedding - so thank you for that 👏 Now I just have to find them 🤞 well done on the decluttering 👏 & hopefully the furniture building will be speedy 🤞
Having taken so long to get this far I am out of power 😱 so will recharge & come back later 😉

Box of bits to C*sh Cow.
Lots of crafty bits either given away or recycled.
Newspapers to charity shop. and bag of bubble wrap.
Magazines passed on to friend.
So,and I hope nobody minds but I'm adding 200 to my total,

ilovetea nobody minds how we keep a tally. We support each other in every way. grinning emoji if I was able to add them!
Just having a rest. Clothes and shoes rehomed. I wasn't purposely looking but culled a shirt ,never worn and the shoes I wore to my Son's wedding. Look nice if you don't move, walk or stand! The drawers from the divan are in the back yard waiting for a trip to the tip. I have enough to do without messing about with them, and anyway I have empty space in the new bedroom furniture.
Old bed bedding washed and dried. I have cut the sides off the quilted mattress protector. Sides to fabric recycle and I will use the top in a quilt I plan to make .
I will save looking for curtains for another day. I will have to make a mess to find them and I don't feel like dealing with that today.
We are going out for a meal tonight with friends. The first time we have been out,out since March 2020 when we went to Edinburgh just before lockdown.
Tomorrow I am going to Nottingham for a look round the shops ,something else I haven't done since before lockdown. Always on the look out for Christmas Gifts. We give money and a token gift to family. I shop as and when I see something suitable. Sorry to mention the C word so early.
Love to all

Speaking of shoes that look nice if you don’t move or stand…. I think it may be time to say goodbye to my expensive 3 inch leather soled Italian heels. They have been carefully kept, worn and loved for 25 years…. But I can’t see me choosing to wear them after two years of wfh and not sure I could walk two steps in them….
they will make someone else very happy.
they are also now in the debating to declutter pile.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?10 -
@Vulpix - I need to start looking for Christmas. I give money to family but they all get a Christmas stocking of useful things even the grown ups. I do get some things to unwrap for the smallest GCs. Not started at all this year.
Today's plans didn't go well. DS2 came to do furniture but items damaged in both boxes - they'd clearly been dropped. Delivery driver warned me that packaging had been in a bad state when handed over to him. Have to wait until 13th for replacements. Trip to get car light housing replaced didn't work either as they had got the passenger side and not the driver side item - I clearly heard the girl order the right side and she checked with me. They have it in now so I can go back tomorrow.
Bush pruning done and I have enough to fill car boot so will take to tip tomorrow and count when it has gone. DIL cleaned house right through whilst DS2 did other jobs. Will count tomorrow after tip run.
