I'm back, decluttering fell off the list due to work, and Ex and his health and family issues. It's piled up a bit here again but that's because I decided to take everything out of the loft and the old shed so I can see now what needs clearing. It's all going to the tip I think but that'll take a few trips.Selling things seems really difficult now, nothing moving much, but I've moved on some inherited bedding via freecycle, and emptied my tins cupboard to the food bank now that I think brexit is done. (It was all well in date!). So that's my total this month. Must do better.Magnolia Stellata8

Hello all, haven't read all the posts since I was last here as there are soooo many. MrsSD you're a marvel keeping up, you deserve a medal too🥇 Hope DH gets a rest today he seems to have a bit of a nightmare yesterday, what with the headlight bulbs and the new layout in MrS !We have decluttered another week of treatments, only 2 more next week then DH is done for now, Yay !! My purse has been emptied again with more fuel money spent but as we haven't been home much I think we must have saved money on gas /electric. The DGC also did excellently in their school reports, must have inherited their brains from me.... not 🤣 so more money decluttered from my old purse and into their hands as a "well done" gesture, got to keep them motivated ! I have recluttered a new kettle and the caravan one will now be put back in it's box till we can use the van again, although goodness knows when that will be. I have gammon steaks, which I'd forgotten about, so we'll use those up for tea and I'll have a jacket potato and salad with it as I'm still decluttering weight 👍🏽 This being out of the house for 4hrs a day and travelling up and down the M4 is stopping me putting my mitts in the biscuit/cake tin 🍪🍩 which is a good thing.Into the cs bag a pair of my sandals which I kept taking on holiday but never wearing, why? 😠 Out a t.shirt and a pair of old joggers that are more paint than material and a nice top that has stains down the front, don't know what they are or how/when they got there but I can't get them out, shame as it's a really nice top and hasn't been worn that much😒 I have binned 2 pairs of DH's socks too that have no elastic in the tops, and he wanted to keep them ! Day to day detritus also decuttered.Hope everyone is well, hugs and best wishes for recovery if not.Take care allnanSorry Bala missed the bit about your Dad and the wrong hospital, extra hugs for you.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

I was up late finishing a film: had to have a half hour break to ventilate the living room as I'd been over enthusiastic with the fly spray

Thank you Mrs SD for my new medal. I am not sure about waving to passing motorcyclists as I already have a reputation for having lots of visits from plumbers. I got up with good intentions but here I am at 2pm and only just about to start cleaning. I did bring in 2 of my 'like with like' photo boxes from cabin and they are now sorted out into smaller like with like sections. One box has gone back to cabin with only extended family pics, landscape photos and dad's postcards from the war in it. A job for another day. All the other sections on close family are in a sectioned up box for scanning etc. The like with like method works well as you can then just tackle a manageable section at a time. I now have to check against albums as I know the majority of these are duplicate pictures which we gave to the two nans over the years. I have also sorted out several piles to go to siblings and their families when I next see them.

1245 - 1246 Resorted photo boxes into manageable sections.
1247 - 1248 Photos set aside for siblings

1252 Some weeding
Onward with some cleaning and tidying. Sunday lunch at DS2 tomorrow.

Had a busy week so no decluttering done until today, however some admin frogs started so they'll be counted as and when complete.
Today's total:
19 items paperwork
Took drastic action last weekend and banned OH from visiting - it seems to have worked as we've both managed to get loads done! We had a conversation this morning and we've agreed to continue this week.

Hugs and hope for things to get better for your Dad bala but fantastic news on the couch.
Thankyou @mrssd. I am in complete agreement. I am saving the insides for wet days and winter.
Another two bags out and a bag of meds that were my DS's. I have had them in the car for over a week but missing every opportunity to go to the chemist.
In came several bags of stuff from a friend. Duly sorted to go or be put in the loft for the CS in winter. Getting very good at that.
Last night I spent sorting and organising to sell my Dad's old coins. Pre decimal, some victorian, from when he went decial in his corner shop. I am hoping to sell them in little lots online. He died over 30 years ago now so it is time to let them go.
The only thing I want to keep, apart from some pictures, is his magic wallet which he kept his notes in.
I changed the decimal coins (despite their age) at te PO last year or the year before.
Doing well with photographing and prepping stuff for sale. I have 20 boxes so far and more to pack up.
Worked at the CS today and bought very little. There was a craft sale going on but it was mostly card making, not my thing, so all good.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. @balabooberlies, echoing bit_by-bit's hugs and hopes for your dad and for others in need.
Impressed granny kate by clean through house, I still can't work out why when I don't have to travel to work I'm more behind with housework and maintenance. Feeling swamped by stuff, but have done some general tidying, decided to put some of the papers I need to move forward into plastic wallet s-s and then a file, - better than loose.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHTi2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉Saturday has been a mixed day - overcast, some rain & some sun. DH filled the bird feeders again, moved 2 tomato plants into the large terracotta pot that is being donated to neighbour G. He also started tidying the garage - quite a bit of space now but everything is stacked up rather than put away 😔 Bad news about the hospital appointment - there isn’t one yet as doctor did not send all the paperwork 😖 I have done one load of washing which needs drying, made guacamole ( 5 avocados in veg box 🙂), carried on knitting 2nd baby blanket (1 ball of yarn used so far) & cleared down a few programmes from planner. Dinner was steak prepped & cooked by DH, oven chips, roasted tomatoes & mushrooms + peas. The steak was melt in the mouth 😋 Wudupa
1310 - 1312 Kitchen recycling, large plastic bottle, drinks cans - recycled
1313 - 1314 Kitchen detritus, garage detritus - binnedNever mind Happy_Kitties, you have mentioned it here so I have a lovely vision of the cat dragging balloons 😂Lovely to see you balabooberlies 👋 Sorry to hear that your dad has been hospitalised again ☹️ Wrong hospital 😱 hopefully sorted without too much trouble 🤞 What a brilliant result with the new to you sofa & getting rid of the monstrosity 👏👏 You were absolutely determined to get rid of it - Stanley knives & saws 🙂👏 Sounds like coming into the living room is now an absolute joy 😀 Thank you for the kind comments re DH 🙂 & I will take a hug or three 😉Nice to see you stellata 👋 How dare RL get in the way of your decluttering 😉 I see you have gone for a bout of Marie Kondo - everything out & then sort. Good luck 🤞 As to thinking Br*xit is done & dusted you are definitely more optimistic than me - I think that the fallout is here to stay until at least 2022 😭 obviously not helped by the ongoing nightmare of Covid 😔 Shame about the lack of progress in selling items ☹️ Hopefully RL has calmed down a bit so that you can get back to your decluttering hobby 😉😉Thank you for the medal 🥇 nannywindow 👏 very kind. DH is fine - he gets a bit bored so likes to do a few things each day 🙂 apart from sorting his office which is a mess 😔
90% of your DH’s treatments done 🥳 Everything crossed that the treatments have done the trick 🤞 Well done to the DGC 👏 Also praise to you for keeping on top of the day to day decluttering & still managing to declutter extra items 👏 I did have to smile at your every cloud has a silver lining comment about not being home long enough to raid the biscuit tin 😂Moths do appear to be a bit thick short_bird 😉
You are welcome GrannyKate 🙂 Well done on the photo sorting - sounds like you have it well in hand & are being very organised 👏 Hope you have a lovely Sunday lunch at DS2’s house 🙂 Can you pop round & clean my place GrannyKate? 🙂🙂😉
Great work starting to deal with admin frogs, oceanspirit 👏 That is drastic banning OH from visiting 😱 but if it works then a good decision 🙂 Not only are you both getting loads done but absence makes the heart grow fonder 😉
You have been busy bit_by_bit 👏 Good luck with selling your Dad’s old coins 🤞 I think 30 years is probably long enough 😉 The magic wallet sounds interesting 🤔 I am wishing you every success in selling your stuff - hopefully lots of bids & lots of cash 🤞 Well done for resisting the lure of CS items whilst volunteering 👏
Well done TC77 👏 It is one of the great decluttering mysteries - the more time we have, the less we do 😉😉😞 I think it goes something like “I must do insert task but not now as I have plenty of time & I have far more interesting things to do like watch DH gardening 😉”MrsSD 🏅 🏅 🏅 🏅 🏅🏅 🏅 🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 1314/20212021 Savings Pot: £164.80 to end of JuneBe Kind.
