Nearly finished taking down the fence. I’ve kept the ivy back on my side for the 6 years I’ve been here, and removing the horizontal panels has been relatively easy. They’re all broken up and ready to go out with the green waste today. The ivy on the other side is a different matter. There’s over 30 years of twisted gnarled growth to deal with; it’s a constant source of annoyance to the neighbours on the other side and those backing onto his property.I just keep shifting up and down the fence line on my bum, prising the roots off the wall and out of the ground. I’m dreading going out to see what it’s like when it gets light - how much mess is there to clear up?The hedgehogs are all safe - I have to go and pick up their food otherwise it starts a magpie war as soon as it’s light. They are so loud! I went out to see what the fuss was yesterday and Charlie was sitting on the shed roof with a magpie strutting roundnext to him, squawking away - winding each other up!!Obviously I haven’t been able to do much else, I’m falling behind with my indoor jobs and I mustn’t forget I have another eye appointment tomorrow.
Wishing everyone a stress free, productive day.10 -
Not much action here and weight loss is going badly - ie in wrong direction.
Liverpool-Anne - I do a bingo grid of tasks rather than a list with more than one box for bigger jobs - so I split kitchen into three of the boxes - top cupboards, bottom cupboards and surfaces and floors say. When I started doing this I had 15 boxes to cover three months - only one job left at the end.
Going to hairdressers then I'm going to take myself out for a bit
1225 Bought plants and planted out last few pots
1226 Weeding
1227 Finally threw away dead rose - 40th anniversary gift (red) 11 years ago - the pot has also shattered in frost so I will break it up for bottom of pots
1228 Emails answered and deleted.
1229 Quiz questions done for tomorrow - theme chosen by GD4 so I will blame her if quizzers don't like them
1230 Oven cleaner booked for next week - lazy I know but I hate doing it and it is a large range style.
DS2 wants to crack on with decorating bathroom so I need to sort out with plumber or BG what we are doing about toilet. I missed another call from BG yesterday as I was putting fuel in car. House needs some cleaning as well.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Just a wee update from me.After a huge amount of effort and help DM's flat was market ready. There's still all the furniture, paintings, beautiful china sets, wonderful old glasses etc to go eventually, however the back of it has been broken. One wonderful chap boxed DM's books. This amounted to 20 boxes with a few left over. 😱 He then took them downstairs and packed them in my car, on two different days and then unpacked them from the boot to take into the big Oxfam shop. He got a sack barrow from them. Meanwhile I sat in the car sending helpful vibes to him. 😀I've also made a start on my own home. After being away for over two years, and ploughing through DM's stuff, it's in need of decluttering and loving care.I read along most days and find the amount of work being done so motivating, though I'll be glad when I'm done.13

Liverpool Ann just in case you need the QR code when you get to the dentist, if you have a camera on your phone take a pic of the QR code from your computer to take with you. Hope this will help.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.9

I did some decluttering again this morning as we went to visit the house we are buying yesterday and the move feels more real. I sorted out the top three drawers of my chest of drawers today.
I took my jewellery out of the top drawer and put all of it into a seagrass box on top of the chest of drawers to free up space. I put all my toiletries in the top drawer instead. I went through my pyjama drawer and got rid of four tops. Three more of the tops can be used for pet blankets as they couldn't be donated. I went through all my vest tops and put a few of them to be used as pyjamas. I put all the nightwear into one drawer.
I then put all my leggings in another drawer with my tights, my knickers and my bras and used dividers. It looks so much better. I don't know why it's taken a house move to finally get around to organising everything properly.
I threw away some used up toiletries and dropped the clothes off to the chazzer this morning. I added a dress to the bag as I tried it on the other day and it looks like a tent on me.

I don’t often watch the football but seeing the crowds at Wembley and hearing Avery rousing rendition of God Save Our Queen, I can feel the excitement.7

I bought a small storage unit so everything is now off the floor in the office and on a shelf. There’s a bookshelf in the office that I hate so I need to see if anything on it can be decluttered before I can get rid of it. We also have a G Plan unit in the front room that is full of odds and ends. I would quite like that to go to a new home so need to re house or declutter the contents. I did some cleaning today, got the guest room ready as Grandma is coming tomorrow yippee.9

Have started stealth decluttering - things do not actually leave the bungalow but I tidy one of mum's drawers or cupboards and squeeze in a few of the things that are 'stored' in my room (it's her stuff). This morning it was 5 framed photos after doing 'freezer tetris' on the photo cupboard. They were taking up space in one of the useful drawers in my room and made the drawer awkward to open and close (the weight was to one side).
Doing Swedish death cleaning in my head - mum has 4 photo albums given to her as presents. They are varying degrees of 'fancy' and the more 'fancy' the less useful they are (3 thick highly decorated cardboard sheets for one tiny photo, the whole album takes less than 12). So they sit taking up space in the cupboard not being used, she won't re-gift them or donate them for the church tombola.
Did the candle drawer yesterday, threw one out and later put another 3 of mine on two candle stands and one in my Morocan lamp (I have to keep reminding mum that these are mine, bought with my present money). She 'appropriates' thing that spend time in her house, DS2 and his Beloved bought me a Freida Kahlo pot with bulbs in and she's quite fond of that. garden things that 'weren't needed', she now 'have you got any plans for x.y.z.
Anyway I'm enjoying the stealth declutter and reclaiming my small space. Went to town today to buy bread and my puzzle book. Didn't get to go home or visit several shops, walking approx 3 blocks in a more or less straight line with lots of sit downs and still aching and tired when I got back.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8
