Forgot to mention that from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday was blue skies with fluffy white clouds 👏 Rained overnight so Wednesday morning was damp & overcast. Both had a full Yorkshire breakfast & coffee. Packed the bike, DH paid the bill & we headed off. The 1st two hours of riding were fine - overcast but bright, dry & quite warm. However our luck turned - 5 minute heavy shower ☹️. Then 30 minutes of dry & sunny weather 🙂 Downhill from there - after riding in heavy rain for 20 minutes we admitted defeat & took refuge in a coffee shop - coffee, Millionaire shortbread & use of the facilities. Still raining 25 minutes later so had to be brave 😔 Anyway the rest of the afternoon continued in the same vein - sunshine & dryness interspersed with heavy rain showers. Unusual sight of the day three guinea fowl in a church graveyard 🙂 Wildlife seen - cows, sheep, horses, rabbits, a squirrel, Greylag geese & of course the guinea fowl.We arrived at our hotel in Lincolnshire (2nd visit to The Red Lion) 5:45 p.m. at the start of the next shower 😉 We are in the same room 🙂 Showered & changed for dinner at 7:30 p.m. Dinner was stunning: DH had Thai fish cakes with tartare sauce & pea shoots followed by ribeye steak, mushroom, pea shoots & chunky chips - he enjoyed it so much he was practically drooling 🤤 finished with cafetière coffee. My dinner was wild mushroom & stilton tart (cheesy pastry) on a bed of pea shoots & balsamic vinegar dressing followed by Hunters chicken, peas & chunky chips + I managed rhubarb crumble & custard as I only ate 4 chips 😉 - I enjoyed my dinner so much I was drooling 😉😉
Saw the England result but at least I can support Italy on Sunday 😉
Up to our room by 10 p.m. & I am just watching Patriots Day. Tomorrow we should arrive home a mid afternoon ☹️
Great work 3secondmemory 👏 I admire your dedication to decluttering ivy. Very pleased that the hedgehogs are safe 🥳
Excellent work GrannyKate 👏 and the bingo card system really worked 🙂👏 You have reminded me that I need to book an oven cleaner 👏
Excellent news Gers & everything crossed that the viewings result in a swift sale. Then you can concentrate on your home - 2 years is a long time to be away ☹️
Wort, I am just thinking whatever happened to telling the dental receptionist your name, address, dob & time of appointment 😉😉 so much easier than faffing with computers, phones QR codes etc 😔

Morning Mrs SD - it’s not dedication, it’s necessity. It’s completely overtaken over. I’ve been too ill for the last two years to even scrape it off my walls and it’s even grown into my spare room.I can’t bear it it. It’s dusty it smells it, it’s full of snails and slugs and, at the end of the day, I’m still as OCD about germs and touching stuff as ever.My landlord said he would do the fence several years ago but I had to arrange with Neighbour for him to clear the IV on his side or my Landlord would have it cleared and charge him for the work.As you can guess, nothing has happened for six years, it was compounded by the old neighbour at the back also leaving her garden ‘over to nature’ for a decade before moving last year. It’s been great for the hedgehogs but I’m sick of seeing his rubbish piled high in his garden. Also he is a smoker - he comes out into his garden to hack his lungs up and spit on his patio so a six-foot fence is definitely in order!!I filled 3 white dumpy bags yesterday, topped up 2 of the neighbours garden bags and sweet talked the Refuse guys into taking 3 extra sacks 😂😂I can email the letting agents later with pictures showing the work has been done and they can arrange for the panels to be put up.I spent the afternoon catching up on my gardening jobs then fell asleep during the football. I managed to hang on until England had levelled up and then it was all too much so I closed my eyes and got about six hours kip 😃
I gather we won - 55 years of ‘hurt’ 😂😂😂8 -
@mothernerd love the "stealth clearing" you are doing - it sounds very satisfying both physically and emotionally x2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi all
Mrs SD - I too was driving in Lincolnshire in that horrendous rain yesterday. Bad enough in a car but must have been awful on two wheels. I spent several hours at antique centre yesterday but bought nothing except my lunch. I did however measure up a small sideboard which I have taken a fancy to. I currently have a very large unit which is too big - heavy to move and has no flat area to put things down on. My decluttering also means it is no longer jammed full with stuff.

Also added a small grooming task on Tuesday and Wednesday - will have to revisit both (wasn't wearing my glasses when I did one and the other I reached my limit for bending down) but feel much more comfortable and am more presentable. Did start to write a weekly checklist for these (some would only need doing once a month but was thinking a weekly check would highlight any needing attention) but life got in the way.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

933-935: bag of rubbish and 2 bags recycling to their respective bins
936: 3 letters returned to sender
937-942: carriers to supermarket delivery driver
943-945: 2 small plastic food boxes and 1 lid retired, I'd guess there's at least 1 more lid/
946-948: 3 additional loads of laundry due to the Great Moth Massacre of 2021.
I got disheartened this afternoon: had dried some shirts on coat hangers on Tuesday and hung them on one of the over door hangers this morning. There was a fudging moth perched on the centre back of a freshly dried shirt.I sent it to meet its maker put everything back in the wash and made a nice cup of tea. The pheromone traps are catching the boy moths...

Happy to report that I have finally got rid of a bag of stuff to the CS today. I haven't got rid of anything out of the house for ages.
I have been in the front garden decluttering severeal wheelie bins worth of weeds and brambles. I haven't done anything for a long time but been inspired by several gardens iI have seen lately to return it to the state I had it in about 5 years ago which was a wildlife garden. I have too many shrubs in it now so will be thinning them out in Autumn. I also have some plants I have been given which will fill the spaces .
Today DH put together a romantic metal arch for me which I bought on hols. It wasn't cheap but well worth what it is going to do for my back garden.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Hi all, not much decluttering done since my last post, my energy levels seem to be draining away very quickly these days. The gift sets have gone into school along with some unused make-up items from another gift. I was never going to use them and gave them to the only person I know who might. I have sorted the last 2 boxes in work, mostly into the confidential waste. I have got a bag of things to bring home, personal stuff that ended up being used in school but I have thought carefully about it and decided I will use it at home.
@GrannyKate, yes the bingo sounds like a good idea and after I have finished my bedroom I might give it a try.
@wort photograph the QR code, brilliant idea
@short_bird I am also in a battle with moths. Sneaky things they are. I have washed every piece of clothing in my bedroom, vacummed the carpet 3 times, beaten the bedside rug and have got a spray and some capsule things to hang in the wardrobe. I also use a lavender room mist every day. So far I seem to be getting on top of it but I am taking no chances. Good luck getting rid of yours.
Take care everyone9
