2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

I think I rather overstated my 'cleaned through the house' and not deserving of praise. I vacuumed all the rooms and wiped over all surfaces particularly sticky door handles and light switches but not much else. One of the best things about following this board has been that everything seems to have a home so stuff doesn't accumulate in piles and on surfaces so much. You can actually do a quick tidy now without having loads to leave for later. I have, however, not done the paperwork I need for this week so that's this morning and this evenings jobs.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Morning MrsSD and fellow declutterers, well I finally managed to sell our daughter's old bookcase online. £10. The messages going backwards and forwards with the buyer were hard going, but worth it to eventually get it out of the attic and down two flights of stairs so it could finally go. Going to tidy up the attic on Tuesday on my day off so I can try to refocus on the next few items to sell online and try and get our local council to arrange pickup of a bulky shower screen which looks like it will be tough going ☹️ Would like to get back to participating in outdoor car boot sales, but gardening group is taking up my time at the moment, so will plod on with online and perhaps some charity shop donations. Tidying up daughter's bedroom next weekend, wish me luck 😉 On the subject of gardening, will declutter a significant amount of home grown courgette into a ratatouille today 😉 the first three courgettes off my plant weighed 2lb! Didn't realise that courgettes were super productive. Am going 'out out' with our daughter today to an American Diner restaurant today as a reward for an excellent school report. Proud Dad. No need for crutches now! Bedroom decorating for me & my wife's room has been put back to next year. My wife has said it will be too much for her this year with her mental health, so it gives me time to continue saving. In the sealed pot was approx. £660, so am hoping to get this figure to almost £1k by this time next year. That will be enough then to get the job done 😉 cheers 🙂9

Still have so much glassware, the coloured glass is my favourite but lots of the tumblers are narrow and not comfy to drink out of (think large nose problem) or v small but the plain glasses are v boring looking. Haven't counted but prob over 100 glasses, which is an over abundance! Also several mid century and older cups and saucers - realise have excess saucers, and these are the right size for covering bowls in the fridge rather than a big plate so will try using them for this.
Back to work - lovely day here so will think of something to do in the garden.
I know I've read about 'frogs' are these chores to get out of the way and based on mark twain saying eat a live frog and everything will be easier? (google's top reference).
Also counting sorting out DD1 appointments - 2 referrals made by GP but admin meant neither got there (Checked both ends) and then referral made to wrong dept (where she started last year) so more calls/emails. Lovely admin person at right dept emailed to say they have it & think she meets criteria but funding needs to be agreed but mental health assessment declined - really makes you both wonder how ill you need to be to get help, and also how overstretched the NHS is.

@leelad glad to hear your daughter doesn't need crutches, and glad your wife can say what is too much for her, and more time to keep saving.
Bala, Mrs SD, nanny and everyone supporting someone else, and trying to take care of yourselves be kind to yourselves and do keep asking for help navigating the system.

Hugs to all.
Liverpool Anne hope the photo of QR code works, I have done something similar in the past when I have been emailed a gift card. I photograph it, then when in the shop I can pull up the photo rather than rely on internet connection in shops! Also searching to find it !Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.8 -

Bala, please try and stop feeling guilty, you have to look after yourself, remember the airplane requirement to put your own oxygen on first.
