Hi All, hugs to those that need them.
Yesterday I did 3 loads of washing, built up a bit with the rubbish weather we have had and my determination to not get the airer out unless it is essential. I put them all on the line and just left them, they got a couple of extra rinses in the showers but all were dry by lunchtime today. I also had a bit of a sort in the airing cupboard and found a white bedding set that seems to have become a bit discoloured so it is soaking in soda crystals and will be washed through the week. For some inexplicable reason this seems to happen to all sorts of things in my airing cupboard. It isn't as bad now I have a new boiler but I am going to investigate some sealed plastic bags to see if that helps. I have found some reasonably priced in 1kea. Yesterday I also dealt with an admin frog so glad that is out of the way.
Today I cleared and cleaned the windowsill in my bedroom which was totally cluttered with all sorts of carp. 1 bag of rubbish binned. Then I took down the newspaper I have on the windows as my curtains were taken down for the plasterers and I no longer have a curtain rail so paper is the solution. Recycled. I then cleaned the windows which took ages as I had to scrape off bits of plaster and spots of paint as well as the accumulated muck but they were gleaming when I finished. Then I put up clean paper so I no longer feel as if I am sleeping in a betting shop
Watched the football and although I am not happy with the result I don't think we can complain. I am a big footy fan, though not usually too bothered about England, I got sucked into this tournament.
Ironed my clothes for work tomorrow and have made my packed lunch.
Sorted the washing and moved 5 pairs of worn out nicks and an odd sock to the duster bag. At the rate I used them on the windows today they won't last long in there.
Exhausted now so off to bed.
Take care everyone7 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHTi2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉Sunday was an overcast, dreary day with several light showers. DH kept himself busy - mowed the front lawn & trimmed the hedge, spent more time in the garage & also wheeled round (with my help 😉) the large terracotta pot planted with 4 very healthy looking tomato plants to our neighbour G. Warmed up lo mash & baked beans, lo boiled potatoes & lo sausages for DH’s lunch. I had hm guacamole with tortilla cups. Had to use the td to dry the washing as too damp to line dry. Did some more knitting, cleared down a few more programmes from planner and made dinner. Oven cooked porks steaks, mash & boiled potatoes, broad beans & cabbage (all from veg box) 😋 Wudupa.1315 - 1319 Kitchen recycling, office recycling, newspaper, cardboard box, drinks cans - recycled

Now, now GrannyKate that is what I call cleaning through the house 👏 I quite agree that putting things away definitely makes cleaning easier & quicker.Hi there leelad 👋 Well done on persevering with the almost certainly inane messages & £10 in your savings pot 👏 Good luck with the attic tidying. Everything crossed 🤞 that the council will be less trouble than you think. Can your daughter help with tidying her room? Various posters on other threads are also having great success with their courgettes 🙂 Not for me as none of us are that keen on them 😔 Perhaps you can get back to car boot sales next month 🤞 Well done to your daughter - an excellent school report after the year she has had shows how well she has coped 👏 Sending her a medal 🏅- not as good as a trip out with her dad 😉 Shame about the delay in decorating your bedroom but as you say it gives you a chance to save a bit more. That is a marvellous amount of money already saved - one medal 🏅 for you.Great work TC77 👏 Coloured glassware is just so pretty but I only have one wine glass as I know that I would join you in having an over abundance if I started collecting 😉 I am sending positive vibes that the referrals & the funding all come together 🤞And I see short_bird confirmed what frogs are 🙂 Any chance of you dealing with my frogs 😉😉😉 Btw, well done on decluttering 👏What a good idea wort 👏
Thanks short_bird 👏
No need to feel guilty balabooberlies - doing anything when you are exhausted is a major accomplishment 👏Good work Happy_Kitties 👏Well done oceanspirit 👏 continuing to declutter paperwork 🙂No wonder you are exhausted Liverpool_Anne 😱 What a busy weekend you have had 👏 I hope you are feeling very proud of yourself 🙂 DSis & I only watched the penalties & I have to admit we were both happy that Italy won 😔😔 We both have a soft spot for Italy as they were always mum’s favourites 🙂MrsSD 🏅 🏅 🏅 🏅 🏅🏅 🏅 🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 1324/20212021 Savings Pot: £164.80 to end of JuneBe Kind. I started the day with my Monday morning rant at BG. The 'repair' done last week to hot water system has created a new problem. Already noisy pump comes on for no reason for about 10-20 secs about once every 15 minutes 24 hours a day. The person dealing with my complaint doesn't work Mondays so I spoke to the number he left with me. Pleasant enough young lady didn't think my problem was urgent and could only offer me an appointment on 27 July and had no sympathy with the fact that I can't get to sleep because of noise. Grrr. I have sent more emails but guess I have to wait until tomorrow now for any response.
A bit wet here and not much done - I need to deal with some frogs but background pump noise is very distracting. Nice lunch with DS2 and family yesterday. Sorted some of my mum's old photos and identified some places and people with help from a local Facebook history group. One large wedding group including my mother from 1941 - I posted on the site - locals were quickly able to identify the church and I was contacted by a lady who is actually in the photo as a child at her aunt's wedding. The power of the internet.

DS2 gave me vegetables to bring home so I need to sort and freeze now. Small people tonight so there will be shopping to do.

Hi,
I would like to join this challenge please?
I have been on a decluttering 'journey' (for want of a better word) for the last 2 years and still feel i have so far to go. Most of the issues started when i moved in with my partner 5 years ago, shortly after his uncle (who was a bit of a hoarder) passed away and he ended up with a lot of his stuff having recently moved into a new house - queue 3 lots of various items!!!
add to that that we are now in the process of renovating a house, attempting to do most of the work ourselves, my OH runs a buying & selling business from home and we have a 2 year old, plus OH's 2 teenage kids.
Plus Christmas - 3 new chopping boards as a gift, when i already have 5! Feel i have to keep them for a while as from in-laws so here often and don;t want to seem rude :-(
Feel like i'm on a constant cycle of decluttering - but often by myself - which can lead to a loss of motivation so even though we are half way through the year i'm going for a target of 365 items.
I did some work this weekend:
1 dress - (this was a 1 in 1 out situation but counting as normally just 1 in no out)
4 toys
2 plastic storage boxes - reorganised some of DD toys/clothes and no longer needed
1 large trunk box - was literally holding other storage boxes?? why??

Decluttered bathroom cabinet yesterday, expecting not to find much but realised some open products were pre COVID and have a 12m after opening sign, so binned 8 bottles of stuff. Tidied and reorganised too, so it feels better.
also tidied and reorganised kitchen cupboards.
Also sorted out my meal plan calendar in my f***fax organiser and did a freezer inventory. Just need to update fridays supermarket delivery to make sure we have what we need without loads extra.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?9 -
