TC77 Goodness what a dreadful situation for the poor friend.
Knowing people are worse off than yourself doesn't always help when you are feeling down yourself. One mans struggle is another mans effortless. Some days just seem harder than others. As I always say to my kids, things never stay the same, you will not always feel like this.

after a long absence (December was my last post I think) here I am again but I have been reading along. Hugs to all who need it, been a few sad things posted recently (I'm thinking of cats (gorgeous pics 3secondmemory), husbands (siebre) and vulpix your post above re your daughter's friends mum, especially asthjey were recent but there were also things a few pages back) hope everyone feeling as ok as they can today.
Mrs SD re the bike incident - yeas ago one moment I was driving along then the next, inexplicably to me, we were down and sliding gracefully past a long line of people at a bus stop with the bike on top of us. Black ice, it transpired. Mr D jumped up to pick the bike up off me but we were still on the ice so he slipped and came down on top of me and the tank. The people at the bus stop lost interest and went back to watching for their buses
. I wonder if any of them still remember the incident. Hope your aches disappear soon - it just hurts more when you come off these days even at slow speeds (I know you are about the same age as me) so take care. I am very much a fair weather biker these days as we have cars as well as bikes so I always salute you and him getting on the bike in bad weather etc as I think its your sole transport? I award you both a medal each
We are flitting in about 10 weeks but to a bigger house so I don't need to be getting rid of things but I do need it to be more organised for the move. I don't think I started with a number (Mrs SD you will know no doubt?) but it will be interesting to see how far I get.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉Thursday was hot but not much sunshine. DH was busy in the garden & garage & did the Thursday sm trip. I did zilch 😔 Hm soup for lunch. Used the chiminea as a barbecue - DH cooked burgers & hot dogs for dinner - my contribution being to cook onions for the ‘dogs’
I wudupa.Friday was cloudier & muggier than it has been. Paid the milkman before I went to bed. The wood for the replacement raised bed was delivered by 2 separate vans 🙄 DH has been unwell all day - probably sunstroke ☹️ After the wood was delivered he went to bed for the rest of the day. I did manage to persuade him out of bed for a couple of hours - long enough to have a couple of drinks & a small bowl of hm spaghetti Bolognese.I had the last of the hm soup for lunch. Did a couple of tasks today - Cleared & scrubbed kitchen work surfaces, put a couple of items away & tidied up the rest; washed & oiled my large chopping board, watered the garden & wrote a plan for tomorrow 😉 Wudupa.

Great work EnergyShifter 👏 and yes you should count the workshop success especially as you have been feeling out of sorts 🙂👏Excellent work Siebrie 👏 What a great idea 🙂Nice to see you mothernerd 👋 Very pleased to see that you are giving the tree stump a run for its money 😉 No wonder you are knackered - the amount of decluttering/tidying and physical labour you are doing made me tired just reading about it 😉 I had to smile at your “quietly content” 😁 - it takes less energy than being happy 😉vulpix, hopefully your son will be able to carve out some time to publish & you will be able to carve out time to record the children’s stories 😉😉 New IT ☹️ was always my greatest bugbear when I was working ☹️ & apparently we have the joy of an MSE Forum update to look forward to 😡 Your packing is coming along nicely - you must be getting very excited 😊Good work GrannyKate 👏 I have almost completely stopped watching the news especially when our covidiot government ministers appear - just remembered I need to opt out of the new ‘medical IT system’ 😡Now, now short_bird wagging finger emoji 😉 You are doing well - still getting rid of stuff & putting items in their proper places 👏
Good work oceanspirit 👏TC77, how very sad for DD1’s friend 😢 life can be so cruel. Remember, you are allowed to feel sad even when you are not quite sure why. You have the right idea - sometimes we all need to remember how fortunate we are but it can be difficult. Lots of hugs are coming your way - please have as many as you need & pass on a few to your DD1’s friend.
Very succinctly put vulpix 👏
Lovely to see you daisy_1571 👋 Thank you for the bike story & shame on the people at the bus stop ☹️😔 There is nothing wrong with being a fair weather biker - bad weather seems to bring out the lunatic car drivers 😞 By the way thank you for our medals 🏅👏You are absolutely correct - no target set just decisions to be reached about moving - ✅ +continuing to do dogs? + sorting out the attic & whether or not Mr Daisy was going to come out of retirement? Now that you are moving - how exciting 🥳, you have made a great start 👏 especially starting a ‘Moving kitty’ by selling items 👏MrsSD 🏅 🏅🏅 🏅 🏅 🏅 🏅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 1140/20212021 Savings Pot: £164.80 to end of JuneBe Kind. A quiet weekend after a busy week with several school runs and overnight stays. I plan to clean through today and possibly do some chucking out along the way. Yesterday was really muggy and hot and I fell asleep on settee several times. Weight loss started off well but I had sausage sandwiches for tea - I will try harder. Second trip to garage with car cost another £78 but at least sensor no longer bleeps when there is nothing there. It was actually faulty rather than needing a clean as they sometimes do.

Hello everyone, life has been so busy since we’ve had more “freedom” that I don’t spend a lot of time at home at the moment, so not much done. However, my friend around the corner with a 3 month old took a massive box of baby and toddler clothes that my LO has grown out of and also 2 car seats!Three big cardboard boxes were taken to the recycling by DH and so the loft is looking a bit clearer and we bought the next size car seat all installed in the car.10

Lovely weather so hope everyone is getting out. Very pleased with myself today as I set out to clean and tidy through the bungalow and I have done it. Kitchen was just a 'lick and a promise' (as my nan used to say) but I plan to give it a proper clean tomorrow. I also have both lawns to cut and some yard tidying to do. All three bedrooms cleaned and tidied. Toys are out in cabin as they had got them in such a muddle in small bedroom. Can easily get them in to play with as all in boxes. Put new set of covers on my bed and resolved to buy myself some new pillows. I've replaced the spare room ones but mine are awful. All floors mopped and/or vacuumed. Still loving my cordless cleaner although it had a tough ask this week after 2 teenage girls and a fluffy dog. I am going to send an email to get my range cooker cleaned. I wandered round local shop to get milk and bread and bought a yellow sticker sweet and sour chicken for my tea and a couple of things to pop in freezer. Not much to report decluttering wise
1015 - General tat and debris throughout house
1016 - Vegetables from fridge that I had left too long (naughty) - good news as hot weather seems to have dried out my rammed full compost bin and the contents fell into the empty 2 feet at the bottom - pushing and shoving hasn't worked. I now have plenty of space to compost things.
1017 - a few things planted into larger pots
