2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

More books added to the charity shop pile, some small boxes and a large bag of paper into recycling, small bag of rubbish out, lots of empty cans stored in a bag (will be put in the recycling once that is emptied this week). I have 8 bags for life folded up inside another one (that's just evidence that I'm making progress, I need to keep reassuring myself) and found 6 heavy duty carrier bags which I'm aiming to fill full of things for the charity shop.
I've ventured further into the part of the room that still needs sorting, concentrating on emptying part filled bags and putting things where they belong. I've set off more seeds and also managed to take the big wooly quilt out to the line for airing.
Mum phoned her cousin (a retired carpenter) this afternoon. He came round about an hour and a half later and we had a good discussion. He's going to build me some stronger raised beds (approximately 4' x 2' as that's the size I think I could manage to put where I want them/ try out different layouts and he's volunteered his grandson to come and do the rest of the digging and any other heavy jobs. Lad has a low paid SM job and does 'labouring' to make extra cash. There's so much else that I want to be getting on with and having someone to do the heavy stuff sounds like heaven.
I find it hard to accept help and even harder to ask for it but I'm giving in with grace and gratitude.
Moved a large pot for mum and made tea (bacon, beans and mashed potato). now I'm resting. 10 for today, 893/ 2021 total. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
Nice day today but very cold this morning. I took myself out to an antique centre and pottered about. Bought a few postcards for family history collection and a jigsaw for GS4 to do with me. I also had my first lunch out since lockdown lifted albeit I had to sit outside to eat it. Nice change to be doing something different.
New computer delivered but waiting for DS2 to set up. When I came home today an identical, but empty, box had been delivered to send the old one for part exchange - doesn't seem very eco-friendly. Lots of cardboard and other tat in garage plus some charity stuff to sort out. Might be Sunday's job.
I got £6.63 from Ziffit for some books - every little helps. Small people seemed to keep moving beds, blankets etc so I've decided to wash everything - 2 quilts and a sleeping bag washed and dried plus all the covers, sheets and pillowcases. mostly dried outside or in the sun near a window.

Thank you for cheerleading @Mrs_Salad_Dodger sending you in return some virtual kisses, hugs and cake
@mothernerd
I think we are all fools like that. I am learning to change - as the saying goes.. many hands make light work.
And even if you are the tea lady for the day that's much better than being digging girl
Now @balabooberlies... You are suspiciously quiet... And we miss your lovely little face.. Wonders if you are buried under lots of chocolate wrappers??? and have been having a whale of a time.
I do that at @TC77 then often spend half a week trying to resurrect the pan..for which life is too short. So loved your decisiveness there.
I'm still hemorrhaging money but at least I have it, so very grateful for that.
I have been promised a trip to the charity tomorrow (to drop off of course lol) I hope I do not return with a find.
Oh and the b!00dy work have sent me a load of work from home equipment /clutter....just great.
I have the minimalist book via YouTube which I sometimes listen to late at night falling asleep. Essentialism? I think it's called. Don't think anything has sunk into my brain subliminally yet.
Have a lovely weekend @EnergyShifter
bar me "getting wings" from a not mentioned energy drink I shall try really hard to do very little.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Well the skip finally arrived at 3.15 p.m. By 3.30 p.m. all 3 of us (me, DH & DSis) were outside assisting our builder with filling the skip. We spent 2.5 hours clearing the large pile of bricks from the dismantled wall including using lump hammers to break up damaged bricks - the skip is just over half full & the builder has covered it with a tarpaulin - tied down with bungee cords. There is a large stack of whole bricks, all the dust is swept up & there is a pile of about 200 bricks left to sort out on Monday. The 3 of us are now broken ☹️ although we are all feeling strangely satisfied 🤔 We did far too much manual labour for 3 overweight, unfit, old people 😉 Dinner was posh burgers delivered to the door 😱 so no washing up as we all ate from the polystyrene boxes 😉
801 - 803 Drinks cans, 2 plastic bottles - recycled
804 - 807 Kitchen detritus, 3 empty compost bags (from Thursday) - binnedGreat work HappyKitties 👏
Sounds like a good day moneyonmymindsam 🙂👏 And look at that, your first week of new job is over 👏🙂 You should be very happy with yourself - you have kept up with the day to day decluttering, completed your first week in a new job & been busy house clearing & making plans for tip trips 👏 Perhaps you can take a few hours to eat chips & enjoy the area 😉
You are very welcome moneyonmymindsam 👏🙂 An excellent end to your week 🙂 apart from the still haemorrhaging money ☹️ Looking forward to reading about your minimal dayYou have had a good week Emm-in-a-pickle 👏 Quite a few tasks done & a plan set up for clothes sorting 👏Great work bit_by_bit 👏 Good luck with your training for the moon walk 🤞
Good work TC77 👏
Great work mothernerd 👏 and one medal 🏅 coming your way for asking & accepting assistance with the heavy duty jobs leaving you time & energy to do other jobs that you wish to do. You have also earned a 2nd medal 🏅 for employing/helping out a young man to assist in the raised bed construction 👏
What a good day GrannyKate 👏 and a busy one 👏
I will see you later if I manage to get out of bed 😉😉MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 807/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

Another one a bit broken here too. A very good days work at Step Son's house. Most of the garden has had the jungle chopped down, massive roots dug out, ground dug over and raked. I could hardly move when I was woken by my furry alarm clock at 5;30.
A bit of a rest day today. We have to go to Sheffield for Mr V's Covid and MRSA tests before his opp on Tuesday.
I think you have done the right thing Mothernerd by accepting some muscle in the garden. I think I am still 30 and can do what I used to but sadly I can't.
Saying that I still love physical graft like you Mrs SD,I find it very satisfying.
My little grandniece has glorious red hairShe will help my brothers family after the loss of my lovely SIL,
Trip to Sheffield means we can drop off stuff at DD1's house. 3 stone slabs will leave the premises.
Need a bath,a tidy round n woosh we are gone! Estate agent bringing first viewing at 10 am. Oh btw my phone has been red hot. The village is agog with the exitement of my for sale board and they can't see the house online. Haha . We got the pics for aproval last night, the house looks amazing.

DS has returned to Uni - he was here for 2 weeks - I assumed he was only staying a week since that's how long the holiday was . I feel a little bad to say this but its been difficult having him here - I described it to a friend that it was as if he was haunting the house. My friends with older children have assured me that its a natural stage in the transition to adulthood & I believe that (& vaguely remember it) - it's just more painful than I thought it would be & I've been feeling like I couldn't think clearly while he was here. We finished off his stay on good terms and I got a nice & loving message from him last night. Today I have woke up feeling much brighter and determined to make some headway with the decluttering.....
.... starting with pulling up the carpet in DS's room - its been here since we moved in 2006. Its not a pleasant task but much needed and at least the floorboards underneath look decent - I'm planning to paint them....
moneyonmymind: ooooh didn't realise there was a book. Just searched but there seems to be a lot of them - could you let me know who the author/presenter of the one you listen to is please. Thanks- have a great weekend !
happy decluttering everyone x

Gave a bag of books to a work mate.
Been up the loft looking for more books. Unfortunately I must have already parted with them, was hoping to make a few pounds.
Did find boxes of books belonging to DD. Will suggest she sells them. At least something will be cleared out.
Free wood today. Not a lot but every bit helps.
Friend has recently cut down a holly tree. Will collect it this week to add to the pile.9
