2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

Hi All,
Not a lot to report. Friend and I decluttered a couple of bottle of gin at the weekend (not full, I promise lol!) and a big of rubbish picked up on a quick whizz round the bedrooms.
I had a surveyor here as renewing my mortgage and the place was a mess. Managed a quick clean up before he came but at least now I’m mentally making a list of everything that needs done. First kids clothes again and then toys. Then it’ll be the cupboard under the stairs and my pantry. It’s an embarrassment.
Happy decluttering xx

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Tuesday was dry, sunny but with a chilly wind. I will gloss over the lack of activity 😔 I finished the hm soup. DH phoned the barbershop & got an appointment for 2 hours later 👏 so had a bath & washed his hair. He came back shorn & happy. Dinner was veal (from last butcher shop visit) as schnitzels with mashed potato & mashed sweet potato, sweetcorn & garden peas 😋😋
Freezers emptying nicely 🙂 DH did washing up for the 3rd evening in a row 👏👏 with me doing drying up & putting away. Sadly no visit from Mr & Mrs Mallard but we did have a visit from 2 ring necked parakeets & the robin 🥳
783 - 785 Kitchen recycling, cardboard, drinks cans - recycled
786 - 788 Kitchen detritus, office detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Wednesday has dawned bright & sunny with clear blue skies - deceptive as it is still very chilly in the shade & when the wind blows ☹️ However, the sunshine is warmer than of late 👏 DH is going shopping today rather than tomorrow (he is visiting 2nd grandfather’s grave in Harrogate - 100th anniversary of his death - weather permitting of course) so at least I will be writing a menu plan & shopping list 😉
You have been busy vulpix 👏 Excellent news about the house valuation 🥳 I did smile rather broadly 😃 at the ‘blue shed’ comment. However, I have every faith that you will ‘keep on top of everything’ until the photos are taken & the house is sold 🙂 Hopefully the sale will go through quickly 🤞 & with all the work you have already done there will not be too much packing to do 🤞 You must really be looking forward to the bridal shop visit - 8 months is a long time not to see your son ☹️Great work HappyKitties 👏 You WILL remember item 201 🤞
Good work oceanspirit 👏 - the Easter chicks will be so happy to avoid the dust 😉😉You must be so relieved bit_by_bit 🙂 Think of all that space now you have moved your bags to the cs. I hope you are keeping your halo 😇 polished 😉Great work Nicnak 👏 lovely to see you even if it is in the background 🙂Mothernerd, forget him being an annoying idiot - what a horrible human being 😠 He is probably one of those who think Covid19 is not real so very well done to your mum for putting him in his place 👏👏 sounds like she doesn’t particularly like him either 😉
You are doing a lot 👏 it is just at a more sedate pace than you think you ought to 😉 You do need to take time out for yourself - Auntie Salad Dodger has spoken 🙂Sorry you are so exhausted moneyonmymindsam ☹️ but I think everything has caught up with you now - relief at having a job, the ongoing task of selling a house, the stress of preparing for your driving test & amidst all that the decluttering/cleaning. I would be astounded if you weren’t exhausted. Re the awkward potential buyers, perhaps put a list together with all the questions & answers you have already answered & print off a few copies - then they are ready for others who might have the same questions. I am sending gentle hugs in your direction.Nannywindow, it sounds like the ‘phantom knicker elastic nicker’ is ensconced in your home 😉 Well done on the decluttering 👏 Shame about the sausage rolls being so popular 😉 Naughty, naughty - not a slug just a lady living her life at a more sedate pace 🙂
Gers, your DM is keeping you busy 😉 Well done on the photo scanning marathon 👏
Good work short_bird 👏
Great work GrannyKate 👏 I especially like the decluttering of the old postcard - to an appreciative new owner 🙂
Oh dear TC77 ☹️ but well done NHS for patching you up 👏 I am with you on the having to check myself when donating to CS - as you say quite often I will keep using something which I should probably replace but I do so hate binning serviceable items 😔 just because they are old & ugly 😉
Great work villagelife 👏
Excellent work Wednesday2000 👏 I had to look up furminators & having read about them I applaud your decision to get rid of both of them 👏 + one medal 🏅 as a reward 🙂
I have taken so long to write this that the sky has clouded over 😔MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 788/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

Photo scanning and binning carries on. It's been interrupted as DM has agreed to have a narrow tall cupboard moved out of her bedroom so that her bed can be moved over a bit more, everything is rather cramped. One big wardrobe of now unused clothes and this narrow cupboard full of woolies of all descriptions. There's one drawer, at the bottom, which has loads of old cameras and wires and cables...now in a bag for me to sort. Some jumpers will have to go in the recyling dumpster as they have moth holes in, most can go to the Sally Army place for them to decide. All in good condition and either cashmere or merino wool. It's another small step towards peace of mind.10

Grrr! After cleaning quite a bit today I managed to smash an entire bottle of red wine across my kitchen floor!

Gers, there is a repurposing company that reuses mothy cashmere . I will try to find their name.9

They are called Turtle Doves.
Maybe look them up..
Keep safe everyone.10 -
And breathe..
Training at work is fine. Nice ease in for meso all good there.
No change on health front but I think that's because I am constantly pushing myself and also mentally out of my comfort zone.
Unfortunately I am hemorrhaging money - which is not so good!
Drawers, cupboards and anywhere else where I've speed tidied the clutter will be done by tomorrow night as its so frustrating trying to get ready for work with things stuffed everywhere.
House sale paperwork all completed my end so hope that will save me some stress later on.
Just doing a bank account shuffle tonight and then it's resting for me.
Tea will be sausage and mash and onion gravy from the freezer to the microwave
Hope everyone is well, It is still very cold here at the moment.
Virtual hugs to anyone who needs it.

Yes Sam breathe... you have a lot on your plate, remember that. x
Well I got up this morning and there was a For Sale sign in the garden! Photos not being done until tomorrow. I am in overdrive thinking about all that needs to be done. I am not having feelings of dread so it must be the right decision. I predict a lot of decluttering in my future.
Mr V is having an operation next Tuesday. I am picturing showing people round the house with him waving from his recovery bed! I have told him I will drive him up the road and leave him there whilst I show people round!
I will be sorry to leave my garden. We have blue tits nesting this year. such a lovely sight. We have also have MR and Mrs Blackbird visiting every day. My Dad had ducks that he used to feed. They brought their ducklings to see him every year for about 10 years.

My lovely neighbour moved on Monday -I was sad to see her go... Seeing all of her stuff n the driveway ready to be loaded into the van brought back memories of my last move and reminded me that I never want to move that amount of stuff again. I have slowed down with physical decluttering in recent months as, to be honest, my house isn't cluttered any more - but I do still have too much stuff IYSWIM ! I now have renewed motivation to physically declutter. I've got a day off on Friday so hoping to start again then.
