Morning MrsSD and fellow declutterers, well as I suspected April has been a tough month so far. Plenty on at work and home. But am plodding on as that's all you can do 😉
Am excited with the upturn in the weather compared to last Sunday when there was snow 😐 Hopefully should be productive for Brussels sprouts which i planted yesterday outside and the potatoes (starting to sprout) and hopefully the spring bulbs (hoping they get their act together and pop up now). Indoors have been growing 🍅 (11 in total) and I have decluttered two plants in very good condition to my auntie who has recently been widowed. She helped me this time last year with giving me some 🍅 plants so it's my turn to return the favour. My daughters tulips are looking good as well. So the past couple of weeks (outside of work) has been taking up by gardening stuff and keeping on top of stuff around the house. Need a plan for growing plants & veg now, it's all container gardening so timings are key. I'm rambling now 🙂 I managed yesterday to get rid of the cracked basin once and for all into the recycling centre, they are now accepting inert waste. Thank you MrsSD for the medal, bathroom is looking good but need to keep on top of it now. That's the key. Cheers 🙂10 -
Help.I have a folding bike I was given at least 5 years ago, possibly longer. It’s sat in a porch slowly deteriorating since then. I’ve never used it, it’s taking up space and I’ve been semi-contemplating repair vs getting rid.
A freegler has requested a fold up bike.
Realistically I’m not going to use it any time soon. But now there’s the chance to make a decision I’m stuck on “if I get rid I won’t get something that good again/I might use it once Gitdog has gone” (NB Gitdog hopefully has a good 2 or 3 years left in him yet.)
Your thoughts please folks. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.9 -
ETA - I think typing that out has made me see how ridiculous I’m being. After all if I’ve not used the blasted thing during lockdown, then when am I going to? Finger hovering over freegle button. Nudge needed to press send....All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Saturday has been a gloriously sunny day but very deceptive as still rather cold 🥶 All 3 of us did sweet f.a. 😔 as we are all still very broken 😞 after yesterday’s exertions. DH did nip out to pick up some Or*jel - one for him & one for me. I see a dental appointment in our future. Dinner was lo beef brisket casserole, mash & carrots 😋 A couple of bits of good news - tarpaulin over skip is intact 🤞 & we have 2 robins visiting us 🙂

The hospital said not to use harsh cleaning stuff (the part the goes around my mouth/ nose and mouth on my older mask is a soft silicone/ rubbery but not rubbery material and some cleaning agents would destroy it - also not good for my skin as I have dermatitis and eczema). There are also rules about cleaning your hands before you start and not using any creams on your face/ mouth or hands when you handle it. I'm trying to remember to put cream, lip salve etc on when I have my evening meal so it has a good few hours to sink in before it's time to put the mask on.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Well yesterday was spent decluttering old computer and loading new one from scratch. Complicated to separate out from late DH's stuff but think everything is now in my name - courtesy of DS2 and my brother (by phone). I'm going to DS2's for lunch so I'll get him some beer on the way. I'm going to give myself 10 marks for things that went from systems yesterday. Started on photos and got new programme - loads to delete which are duplicates or awful.
758 Old computer boxed up to leave Monday
759-768 Programmes, files etc permanently deleted
769 Photos tidied up
770-774 5 cardboard boxes to drop off at tip when I go out (not sure where they came from - must have been breeding out in garage)

@elsien
I would be really tempted to do it, pay it forward and all that?? - might be the difference of someone being able to get to work therefore improving their life.
You will gain good karma and the space?
2 hours into decluttering and I've lost the will already - must keep going and aim to finish at 12.30.
Already have sale items and another bag for charity.

Hello all, had a couple of busy days in the garden. 3 Lawns mowed and the last of the tall hedge now down to a more manageable height. I have filled 2 green waste bins but they don't go out again till next week, so the remainder of the hedge is cut up and awaiting disposal at the side of the house. Our tip is still by appointment only and it's very difficult to get one.I have de-headed the hydranger too, which has come back with a vengeance this year.Disposed of a dead poinsettia plant, normally able to keep for 2 years but epic fail this time. Also out:-A manky tea spoon.Bottle of opened body lotion, didn't like it but still kept it..... why ?A plastic gym drinks bottle, no longer fit for purpose.2 t-shirts now in ragbag.A single sock still awaiting it's mate, bet I'll find it next weekLeftover sausage meat and apricot stuffing, found in the freezer, I think it's been waiting for my inspiration at least 18 months2 old batteries.Think there are more but I've forgotten what they are, doh ! think I must've decluttered my brain along the way too. ( if anyone finds it please send it back 🤣 )Take care all, keep up the good work.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10

Scanning photos is fascinating but I have to move sometime! I decided to start transferring the tins and jars from the extra cupboard to the newly emptied pantry...what a mistake. Now I’m in the midst of disposing of more ODD jars of red cabbage (more like brown cabbage), miserable looking cherries etc etc. I’m keeping most of the tins as I know that the contents are less likely to be spoiled. There’s a kilner jar of Victoria plums in brandy from a now deceased friend, the label calls them ‘Millennium Plums’ which dates them precisely. They will, unfortunately, have to go. I wish that my DM had used and enjoyed all these lovely foods rather than keep them for a mythical special occasion.10
