The second jab,I could feel and it stung a bit, I had a bit of a sore throat when I first woke but it has gone after a medicinal coffee.
We had a note through the door from someone who lived here as a boy. He wanted to buy the house over the asking price, sorry mate ,already accepted 10k more.
House going on rightmove for 24 hours just to gather names of anyone interested in case for any reason this sale doesn't happen. If anyone wants to see,pm me and I will send a link.
Decluttering our stored wood in the evenings on the wood burner. We have lived here 6 years and never bought any wood. Someone is always giving it away. A woodburner would look lovely in the cottage we are moving to but We rarely use the one we have, they are just too hot plus I think they are very bad for the environment.
I am on a mission now to get rid of stuff. The buyer is coming again on Saturday to discuss what of the furniture she wants.Happy to give it her,it wont fit in the next house.if she wants stuff it will save me the hassle of getting rid of it. After she has been I can make a mess whilst sorting to my hearts content. First I will pot up sentimental plants from the garden. Many were gifts from family and ex pupils.
Better get my skates on ,Mr V has to be in hospital in Sheffield shortly.

Morning all. Thanks for the gold star Mrs_SD, and thank you for the link to the minimalists post @short_bird - it sums up exactly how I've been trying to think over the past year. I think I'm slowly getting there but it all takes time. I left a really stressful job just over a year ago and I've had to learn how to be a "normal" human being again since then because I'd forgotten what it was like to not work 12-13 hour days, 6 days a week and be constantly at the beck and call of your narcissistic manager. Yes I've changed my life so to speak but I still need to put in the effort to work out why I was gravitating towards that behaviour. It's not been easy and is still a work in progress but I feel a lot more at peace with myself and my lot in life.
On the decluttering front, nothing more to report but the house is still relatively tidy on the whole. Need to give it a freshen up before the end of the week but that can wait till tomorrow.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201711 -
Fantastic news on the house @vulpix. What a relief. 👍
Thankyou for my goldstar @MrsSD 😊 More going out later as I am at the CS this afternoon.
I caught up some very interesting posts but as I haven't been in for a day or two their were loads. Will be back in tomorrow or later to add my bag count as it will be going up by the end of the day.

Hello again folks, and thanks to all for sharing, every little bit of decluttering progress is encouraging, especially with Mrs SD - already very busy with a major project herself yet taking the time to cheer us on.Also I appreciate insightful posts like Ruby Eskimo - I too have a few ancient garments that have been kept, put aside, then rediscovered and worn all over again! And I am currently sorting a growing pile that will be used for rags because we`ll be redecorating (long overdue!) after they rip out the old fireplace etc in July.Vulpix, good luck with your house move, and please be assured that the logburner we`re having is one approved for the new 2022 regs, and far preferable to our present coal/log open fire or gas central heating. I also have a kettle to use on it and some cast iron enamelled cooking pots, so will use even less gas in the kitchen!Well tomorrow the gas smart meter is being installed. It has been a useful deadline prompting me to get things done, LR is clean and tidy, and the sorting of my room has gone pretty well. I have moved DS`s boxes of stuff that he won`t sort into a heap in the spare room of Doom, and created a fair bit of space. I have (hangs head) temporarily put some of my fabric stash in there from my bedroom, and have also washed, line dried and put away my bulkiest winter jumpers filling the top locker of spare room wardrobe which was previously full of stuff that hasn`t been worn for ages and most is going to Sally army this afternoon.I have VERY thoroughly Henrried bedroom carpet, decluttering an awful lot of dog hair, another task that was long overdue.Found and sorted my summer stuff, washed to freshen after storage, and ready to wear when it gets warm enough.Decluttered a drain near the back door, despite the protective cover old leaves and grot get in there and fester - now clean and smelling nice (Zoflora is my Friend)Also, yesterday evening OH and I decluttered he agreessive brambles that were threatening to take over the decking All cut into neat lengths and gathered into green bin with barbecue tongs, most useful and noble instrument even if you never use a barbecue!9

Rubyeskimo, I know just what you mean about buying more storage to house more "stuff". Excess stuff gives me an unpleasant feeling. I don't want the responsibility of being a custodian of stuff, but I have the same unpleasant feeling about waste. I love to rehome my "stuff" to someone who has a use for it or by recycling. I feel quite happy that I have in the past 7 years reduced the contents of a 5 bedroom house to a soon to be 2 bed cottage in a responsible way.

526-529: Fridge oddments and remains of a tub of gluten free instant gravy out. Hopefully the new brand will have a better texture.
530-532: a bag of rubbish, another box of paper and card and mixed materials recycling taken to the bins.
533: the usual email deletion and unsubscribe session.
534: hair and money decluttered
535: mattress protector appears to have exploded after washing so that's headed for the bin. The washer's on a cleaning cycle and the vacuum is coming out as soon as the postman has visited...
Yes, my toolbox contains a drumstick, incredibly useful when working with cables in confined spaces - actually, useful for anything that's gone into, or needs to go into, a confined space.

Another Medal @Mrs_Salad_Dodger you are decluttering a lot of medals recently 😂 Thankyou very much am very delighted😊
I am so thrilled the swimming pool is open that now all cleaning is replaced with swimming. 😁
This is in some ways an improvement (honest) as during lockdown #1 all swimming was replaced with chocolates 🤭
I still haven’t been through all of the loft cupboards - pretty sure most of it can leave the house - fortnightly charity collections are a manageable way of sorting stuff. I bought myself a few fleabay clothes and none fit 🤦♀️So will try to resell them. LO is still growing very fast I feel like every week she grows out of something.
I am keeping on top of the washing, have a spare time now before picking up LO best get something done!

I keep seeing videos on youtube of people talking about organising stuff and what they're actually doing is buying more drawers / cupboards etc. to house the increasing amount of stuff they keep buying and it made me feel a little weird. One girl I watch regularly did a re-organisation video a few months ago and then was doing another one last week because she had bought more stuff and now needed MORE organisation "tools" to hold the new things that she bought, like 4 new makeup bags that she loved but had no use for at the moment and I couldn't understand why you would do that. Not to say I haven't done similar things in my youth but now I'm seeing the problem that consumerism has played in my life - and I haven't even watched the Minimalist documentary yet!
Apologies for getting a bit deep there, I think the past year has (like many people) made me realise what is truly important in my life and the fact that I don't want to clutter up my house with rubbish.(that's partly why I like the Marie Kondo method)
