2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

Evening, still hanging on in there at work!! it will be Sunday before I have time to even blink
Did a speed tidy of the sty this evening - rest of household are oblivious to "the sty" so perhaps this is a home working talent I have not yet acquired.
Huge admission - the once decluttered bedside drawer is like my home handbag everything, and I mean everything has found its home in this empty drawer... Aaarrrggghh. Never mind - gives me a future project and will find a solution.
Nothings coming in so that's good.
Work have said it could be another month or so to work from home - I'm expecting this to be June in line with BJ 's plans, which is a bit sad as no work chitter chatter but I am earning again and so grateful for that.
No other money to pay out for now, so hopefully once paid I can start to sort things out.
Lots of be grateful for but cleaning is on the back burner.
Trying to break the habit of rubbish out so frequently (is it me or are bin liners so expensive these days!?) Our bins are communal so I don't like to chuck it in bag free at the moment.
Have a good shredder to pick up soon (free and new to me from relative) as the royal we have a lot of old tax returns, house/vehicle paperwork that "we" no longer own.
Hope you are all warm and well where ever you are.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉😉)Whilst the iPad was charging I went and laid down for a couple of hours - did manage to nod off for a while as I found a pain free position 👏 DH made cheesy pasta for dinner 😋 Pain is back but slightly less than before. DSis did the washing up 👏
832 - 833 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
834 - 835 Kitchen detritus, Uu pen - binnedWow mothernerd 🤩 - made me tired just reading about all your activity 😅 Personally I would count 2 bags of recycling 👏 It must have been nice having little ones but sounds like it was very tiring ☹️ Very pleased that your mum managed to eat a meal - however small 🙂. Well done to you for your gentle perseverance 👏Excellent work TC77 👏 Sorry that you had such a bad reaction to your 2nd jab but I think that means it is working 🤞Decluttering hair & hair bits - that is what I call forward planning 👏😉
Thanks for the good wishes TC77 - I am rather in 2 minds about getting better 😉 On the one hand there is the pain & frustration but on the other hand DH & DSis are looking after me 😉😉 On 2nd thought I want to get better as quickly as possible 🙄 Re the sofas - you are thinking about decluttering, the instinctive part will kick in after a bit more practice 😉The best laid plans of mice & men balabooberlies 😉 Mind you, if the suitcase has fallen to pieces it can be disposed of 😉😉 Now as to the car, I think it should count as at least 50 bags, if not 75 🙂 Thank you for the hug 🙂 It does feel like such a waste when things cannot be recycled ☹️ - I share your pain 😞 What a lovely picture - you & your dog sharing a sofa 🙂 Perhaps you can commission your niece to paint the actual picture 🙂 I so admire artistic people 🙂👏Vulpix, glad your reaction to 2nd jab wasn’t too severe 🙂 What a result on the house sale & really good idea to make a list of other interested parties - in this instance Justin is welcome 😉Hopefully your buyer will want lots of the furniture 🤞😉Your excitement is palpable - you cannot wait to start flinging 😃 I am in awe vulpix - responsibly disposing of stuff from a 5 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom cottage 🤩 I would be ecstatic 👏
Great news that MrV has had his op 🙂 Is there a nice nook for the clothes rail? The bug house sounds great - will go very well in your cottage garden 🙂 Good luck with the diet 🤞you will be so busy decluttering & packing that you won’t have time to eat 😉Thank you for sharing your life with us ruby_eskimo 👏. Well done on starting the long process of realising/thinking about your attitude to work 👏 It sounds like you are making great progress 🙂
My tuppence worth is that you sound like a person who wants to help others by taking the flak from a narcissistic manager & feeling that you could do more - a lack of confidence perhaps 🤔
Hopefully you are well on the way to realising that you a great person with a strong work ethic but do need to look after yourself 🙂 You deserve it 🙂👏 Remember - Work to live, NOT live to work 😉 Another sister-in-arms 😉 DH & I were considering moving - like you to a bigger house in the country (especially now DSis seems to be a permanent fixture 😉😉) but we are getting older, plenty of public transport, easy access to sm & other shops & nice neighbours so perhaps not 😉
You are welcome bit_by_bit 👏 Good work on the decluttering 👏 I hope that you are getting many buyers as well as donations 🙂Wow you have been busy Emm-in-a-pickle 👏🤩 Nothing like strangers coming in to do work to encourage/incentivise a decluttering & cleaning blitz 😉 Joking aside, I think we all have a bit of the “there is no great hurry as there is only me (DH DSis) to see it” 😌Great work short_bird 👏 Who knew a drumstick could be so useful 🙂👏 - although the strange way my mind works my first thought was a chicken drumstick 🙄 I like the planning ahead for potential adverse reactions to 2nd jab - hopefully it won’t be too bad 🤞Medals & Gold Stars are only awarded to worthy recipients D123456789 🙂 I keep hoping I will do something worthy of awarding myself one 😉😉 Swimming is definitely an improvement on eating chocolates 😉😉😂 Don’t blink too often, or LO will be wanting a prom dress 😂
What a busy day - putting me to shame (even if I do have a bad back 😔 I could still do some paperwork or make some calls 😔)
So very true greent 🙂 - less clutter = less storage required 🙂 Great decluttering 👏
Good work HappyKitties 👏
Great work newlywed 👏 especially getting items off the floor 👏 Thanks for the good wishes 👏
You are definitely back on the decluttering wagon especially finding things to do during your lunchtimes 👏🙂
So sorry that you are still exhausted 3secondmemory ☹️ but notwithstanding that you have been busy 👏 Congrats on having your 2nd jab & really well done on taking time for yourself. I must admit I am a big fan of solo dining 🙂. Your comment about standing at the right angle & only seeing the tidy part of the garden brought a huge grin to my face 😃 Sometimes the only thing we can do is black bag stuff & partially used make-up definitely falls into that category 🙂Good work oceanspirit 👏. Sorry to hear about your friend but you have done as much as you can to help her 👏 Now she just needs to come to the realisation that she is a hoarder, accept it & then ask for a helping hand. Your hard work is paying off & you are reaping the benefits 👏🙂
Thanks for the kind wishes Gers 🙂 You have done a remarkable job in the kitchen Gers 👏 As you don’t eat most of the foodstuffs is there a possibility of donating some of it to a food bank.It is a dilemma - trying to keep busy but not wanting to feel like you are being presumptuous aargh 😞
Thank you for the kind wishes moneyonmymindsam 👏 That is exactly the correct way to look at the bedside drawer - a future decluttering project 👏 Getting settled into your new job is by far the most important project you have at the moment 🙂 I believe you are right - bin liners do seem to have become rather expensive 😞 I am currently using bread bags, plastic delivery bags (turned inside out to hide address labels) & even the bags out of cereal boxes - saves money & means that rubbish gets put out daily 🙂 I do love shredding 😉 & quite a lot of it gets used in our wormeries 🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 835/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind. @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
lol- I’m glad it made you smile 😊
I started decluttering my bank account last night which involved making phone calls which I have put off for months. Anyway I’ve managed to trim £30 off my budget and I’m going to cancel some subscriptions now that the library is back open. It reminds me of the first time I did the money diet way back in the mid naughties - How many of us bought the book, I wonder? 😂😂
bit by bit, I’m getting things done, and keeping on top of what has been done 😃 I am tired though, and plagued with aches and pains. It’s been taking me ages to remember stuff this morning as well - I couldn’t recall whether or not I told them to go ahead with my computer repair. I did, so that’s another D clutter mission accomplished.

Ooh haven't been using inside of cereal boxes!
You're all so inspiring and motivating.
I have got abit stuck. Have some space in drawers and should really move things around as have stuff out that should go away. Have some plastic drawers in a cupboard in bedroom where I keep spare medicines, facecream etc and is half empty but don't want DIY things in bedroom.
As I write I realise I have another drawer in chest in my room with similar things!
I went through shoes laces , about 5 pairs of coloured mong lacez for DMs but could do walking boots so checking with DDs but seems time consuming and should be going for bulkier things.
@newlywed I may go with your idea small things in lunchtime.
Went through wardrobe in spare room- shocked at no of clothes with tags still on! Also dresses from previous job, reis dresses to go to CS and another couple with marks so seeing if they wash.
Sofa and chair being picked up by young woman whose just bought her first flat and has friend with a van so yippee should be reliable collector!10 -
I agree bin bags are expensive and none ever seem to exactly fit my kitchen bin properly. I found loads of cheap plastic bags at MILs which I have added to the stash in my garage which came from her previous home. Gradually working my way through them keeping a small pile handy - no good for freezer but I try to use up whenever I can.
Not much useful cleaning and decluttering going on. Study is feeling untidy because the boxes of 'like with like' are in here - I guess I could declutter the remaining 5 unsorted boxes in cabin into them or recycling and then I can put them in a space I have ready to await their final sort. Seems complicated I know and quite emotional to do too much at once. Will get started again. I will bite the bullet today and order a new vacuum - I mostly have hard floors but carpets in two main bedrooms and some rugs.
775 - Large numbers of photos decluttered on computer
776 - Password folder pruned - tried not to transfer unwanted things across with new computer but there are still some in there
777 - Saved email folders pruned again (DS2 told me there were 13000 plus in there when he set up new computer - seems excessive)
778 - Notebook used up
I will declutter small people to school. Yesterday I had a zoom meeting in the morning and it was almost time to fetch them home again when that finished. Nothing to do today but HAIRCUT tomorrow!!
Hope you are feeling better Mrs SD and hugs to anyone who needs one.2025 Decluttering Campaign 665/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

In the spirit of 'wombling' (I am one !) I put out 5 wrinkly but not bruised apples and 3 over-ripe bananas.
Now I know there will be people out there shouting 'but you could have made this, you could have made that !'. Listen you lot.....I can't.....not yet !....tee-hee
They went really quickly. I had put them in a Wok that has been getting on my nerves for years (who knew a Wok could do that) and that went too.
So............in the spirit of being kind to myself (and all the things I should have counted since this journey began) I am awarding myself another bag and brooking no arguments !
In a silly mood today.....
Have a great day

Thank you for suggesting that a car would be 50/75 bags but I couldn't possibly do that. It would mean me meeting my target ahead of time and that is not the way I do things.....tee-hee again..........
