Afternoon MrsSD and fellow declutterers, well am drinking my cup of tea and catching up on the week's posts on this thread. Plenty going on as always. It keeps you motivated to do bits here and there on the decluttering and cleaning front.
@bit_by_bit - all the best on your retirement.
@mothernerd & @moneyonmymindsam - pace yourselves, steady away.
Well the new basin has been fitted now, less cracked than the previous model 😉 but he couldn't fit the bath screen as we are waiting for a spare part to arrive for it. It's the suppliers fault and no-one else. So it's being fitted next Thursday. So bathroom clean and tidy up will be done over Easter. Recycled the packaging from the old basin and threw a lot of the debris away. Basin and waste will go to the tip this afternoon. I have decluttered some thyme, coriander & parsley seeds into three pots which are now on the windowsill 😉
Tomatoes sprouting well in the front room along with amaryllis. Allegedly it's supposed to warm up this coming week 😉 so I am hoping to do more planting outside 🙂 been catching up on jobs this morning, two hours of it. So about to make lunch for my daughter now. Cheers 🙂

@Wednesday2000 you sound ruthless at decluttering which I love
@leelad sounds exciting about the planting - hope all grows well.
I'm plodding about like an old Tortoise (sorry Freda😁) with a bag in hand.

Found three small bananas had brown skins so decanted into a flapjack style mix and used last of a jar of peanut butter up too. Trying to use up half empty jars in my storecupboard.
95. storage box - cs
96/97 two birthday cards from stock posted
lacking in get up and go at present re decluttering/ or anything really. Hoping the warmer weather predicted will help motivate me. Mrs SD i may just need a kick up the backside however.
Mothernerd you are inspirational. Keep up the good work. Slowly

Thanks for all your kind words, you're all lovely. Mum is lovely really, just if she's going to be nasty to anyone, it will be me. We didn't choose to live together, we were quite happy with me being here about 4 times a week (cleaner would come on Thursday or Friday depending on whether her grandchildren are at school or on holiday and came Saturday as a visitor) with the occasional stay when mum is really ill or the night before an early appointment. Lock down forced us together and we're still stuck here (at one point it looked as thought conditions would ease so I could spend some days either in town/ at my house/ yard or just roaming across the country park and I was so happy and excited).
I didn't have a great night's sleep and am still debilitated (in my nightie but have been out to put my washing on the line). Have been cooking the remains of bags of frozen cauli and broccoli for cauliflower cheese and have a number of ideas for things to cook. I've reverted to 'crisis' mode (maybe back to basics is a better term). Food, Clothes, Bills (anything urgent that has to be dealt with) for Today, This Week and then the rest of the month. Starting where I am, using what I have. So have eaten wraps with tuna and bean salad on, clean clothes are drying on the line and will write a few lists. Cooking from the fridge and freezer and will clean bits as I go along and add to the food shopping list (s).
Iceland will have frozen leg of lamb and cross buns (Easter sorted) but they don't have decaffeinated coke so will do an overnight grocery delivery as well but can hold off on a big Tessimo delivery until next weekend or later. Most of the seeds are outside now (my windowsill is almost clear - just have to decide if I want to put a row of books back on it). Want to go to town at some point (puzzle magazine subscription does not seem to have gone through so mum owes me £30 - it was from my C*mas money - so may order a couple of books) but it doesn't have to be today (checked and local schools don't break up until the 2nd allegedly). So more purposeful pottering and rest with Torchwood or my books in between. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -

I did add the book to the chazzer donation bag as I could not get into it at all. Hopefully somebody else will enjoy it.8 -
Hi folks, please may I join you? I`ve not posted on the forum for ages, but I really need to declare for a declutter, and posting may help with motivation. I retired then continued part-time till early 2019, and since then have adapted only to well to a lack of urgency for routine, then lockdowns brought an end to need for being `visitor tidy`, the clearout I had started after retiring ground to a halt and then the skips were shut anyway. NOW, I`ve decided to do away with our open fire and get a clean-burn log burner installed. Engineer is coming to do a site survey in 2 weeks, so I really need to get a clog on and make the most of this deadline.Over the last couple of weeks I`ve made steady progress, taken stuff to our local skip at least twice a week, and got rid of a huge amount of ancient paperwork. It`s sad that the chazzers aren`t open to accept donations, but I`ve put lots of clothes and shoes in the Sally Army skip, at least that may get re-used. I`ve slowed down again, and really have to declutter a lot more before the living room has to be cleared for work to be done in it. It has a domino effect in every room, there`s still so much clutter everywhere. I shouldn`t be sat here typing my woes, I`m cooking for today and tomorrow, and should be filling the car ready for a skip run on Monday when they open again. Better go and get on with it then....10

@Wednesday2000 hopeful you will get a book in return from the chazzer when they reopen.
Boys are all in front of moto gp so that's me freeI have managed to get a full black bag out of all the rooms so very happy about that.
Wood (well mdf) out the front is annoying me so waiting on a tip run. Put up a few bits of clothes for summer save buying anything.
Need to go to shop (unfortunately) for milk. I'm having smoked cheese, pate, croissant type tea (bit of a fridge use up and pizza for plus one.
I did clean the bathroom as well as declutter and that was enough cleaning for me. Today was a easy declutter as no garage, shed or loft here!
Need to do financial shuffles and list of life admin jobs, then that's me done for the day.
Hopefully health will start to turn a corner tomorrow as nearly a week of tablets.
New job has decided to do remote 2 weeks training so my first taste will be working from home - hopefully that will give me bit more time to recover and less nerve racking.

PS: the recycling centre wouldn't accept our cracked basin as it is classed as inert waste, and it cannot be tipped at the moment in view of current restrictions on recycling. So it's staying in the boot of my car for now, it's not coming across our threshold again 😉 cheers 🙂11

Leelad - its fatal to let something back in once its left - I think they class sanitary ware with brick rubble. Happy retirement bit-by-bit. I think we all go in fits and starts Emm-in-a-pickle but hopefully we can all encourage each other. I like coming home (on the rare occasions I go out) and the house still looks neat and tidy and no c**p lying around. That said I've not done much as helping with extra transport and sorting DS2's new car. All sorted now but stressful and expensive two weeks to say the least. GD4's class have been sent home until after Easter because of child with positive test so there will extra child minding this week. I will see if we can do some baking and use up the random ingredients in kitchen cupboards. Lady collected the 6 cases and holdalls I advertised for free so they've gone. DS2 bought and fitted a water butt on my greenhouse for me this morning and we decluttered some small peoples' energy in the local park. He realised he had decluttered his parking pass for park with the written-off car but I have one as well.
601-604 Onions and potatoes planted in containers
