I threw away some old knickers today as I bought new ones. I got rid of all the packaging I had outside into recycling and I threw away a bag of vacuum attachments I had forgotten about. I threw away my husband's old umbrella as I bought us both new ones. Some old socks were given to my dog to tear up as she loves them.

Bit by Bit great news on the retirement. Enjoy, enjoy !Out today a car battery and more scrap metal, thanks to the lovely scrappies 👏🏽. Also gone a full pedal bin of crafting bits and bobs from making Easter cards and lots of tiny bits of material/wood left from the Barbie furniture and soft furnishings made by us for our DGD. Hope she likes it, it's nearly all finished thank goodness as we wanted her to have it for part of her Easter present. I was going c0ck eyed with all the tiny stitching 😰Well done to everyone for their efforts.Take care allnan xx

Thankyou all for your good wishes. 💖💖💖 I am going to have a great time. Work and a mortgage just got in the way of how I have wanted to live my life since cancer 5 years ago. I had a great send off at work with lots of useful presents. I have to say one of the best days of my life.😁
I am looking forward to having a bit more energy for clearing and decluttering my house; a full redecoration and time in the garden, allotment, travelling but mostly enjoying time with friends and family. 😁Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. 1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Thursday has been a mostly wet & miserable day ☹️ but there was a bit of sunshine this morning 🙂 DH went shopping on the bike - managed to avoid the rain getting to MrS & loading the bike but the journey home was in a downpour which stopped as he arrived on the drive 😔 Poor DH looked like a drowned rat ☹️ Hm soup for lunch - just a very small portion left. I sorted my post & wrote a menu plan up to the end of the month. DH cooked dinner - cheesy pasta 🤤 Plenty left for a pasta bake 🙂 which has been slotted into menu plan 🙂 Wudupa.

I'm now making up a bag for the charity shop. So far I have a picture, a couple of books and a jigsaw puzzle, I bought that during lockdown and never used it!
It's quite bright weather here, white cloud and not raining at least. I fancy some chocolate and a cup of coffee so I will have to go out later as I don't have any coffee in the house!2025 GOALS

More digging, a few more buckets filled, recycling to appropriate bins. Not counting any of these in my total, but I need to have some record so that when I look back at my day, I can 'see' what I have done. Final two 'kerbing' stones removed from back bed. Workman from next door popped his head over the fence to see what I was doing, offered to help (at a price, neighbour has his phone number if needed). Said mum wouldn't pay for it, I was the one who wanted it like this and I had to work for it. Mum says it can be done, if I pay for it! Will keep plodding.
Rained heavily earlier, thought I was definitely having a day off digging (probably do need to have a rest day - after I've been round moving anything that might be in the window cleaner's way). Was considering going to town (don't want to but have used all the compost and more buckets would help). Have checked and our schools seem to finish on the 2nd April so maybe I can leave it until next week. Do not want to be dodging hordes of teenagers.
Congratulations on your retirement bit-by-bit. That is my goal. I am mortgage free. I never had the income to get a mortgage so bought my house with savings and a loan from the bank in dad's name - we were both customers but the bank preferred to loan it to dad. It was a shell and I reckon I've rebuilt it twice (ie all the every few years things like rewiring/ damp proof course have come round for the second time). My first sink was an enamel one that the builders had mixed cement in (house was a bargain price because our next door neighbour was buying it for her granny to come and live near her but then neighbour's latest 'boyfriend' proposed and they were going to live in his mini-mansion in Southport).
My brother (middle child) died at the age of 47. My baby brother may die before me. The goalposts on pension contributions have changed so many times (and I've paid voluntary contributions in years when I didn't earn enough). I am determined to live to my retirement (just under 3 years now), live well and live long enough to justify all the sacrifices and wring every last penny out of this penny pinching, rob the poor whilst the rich and corrupt wallow in ill gotten gains government. Apologies for introducing politics. Decluttered one rant (back on topic)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9
