Went into town at 4 pm (hoping that most people would have gone home by then). No competition for the benches
. Did me good just pottering around - didn't do much but have got my puzzle mag plus and extra (large print one). Checked the bank balances. Bought sweets for mum instead of an egg. came back and put in food order to be delivered tomorrow and an order for miscellaneous non food items (screen wipes, rat repeller - hope to go back to keeping fresh veg in the shed, and new shower mats). All been on the list for a while but don't like ordering odd items, would rather tick off a handful at once. Have ordered myself 3 books as the magazine subscription seems to have failed - was bought with present money.
Only thing decluttered was some tension and mind clutter - am much calmer and feel I can tackle everything as long as I don't do too much at once.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
Packed up some monsoon/per una/Laura Ashley clothes and some shoes for bhf. Hope to drop them off soon.
have more as well but might try selling my sea salt coat I bought last Feb and have never worn (and now it’s too big)
Tomorrow is laptop day... need to backup, install a new hard drive and copy data etc across. Not looking forward to it, but needs must and if all goes well it will be a definite improvement.Need to tidy the raised bed ready for planting veg in, but not been very motivated.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?11 -
I think joining you folks is helping already! Yesterday I cooked 2 chickens, and extra veg so normal roast yesterday and chicken/bubble & squeak today - then I filled 3 veg-boxes (single layer) with unwanted audiobook cassettes - bought from chazzer over the years for bed-time listening, suddenly there`s some clear space on one bedroom wall. There`s more to go, as cassette player doesn`t work now and I have lots on CD, as well as utube on my phone. I have started using my timer and doing 15 minute bursts. What I need now is to be able to see progress, so I`m going for stuff that I can sort/prepare to skip quickly. A few months ago I sorted a huge shopping bag full of tangled haberdashery, and it took me nearly all day, with very little getting rid. Also, paperwork culls take a while, so I`m avoiding some stuff and aiming to fill the car for a skip run tomorrow. I have many bags of fabric stash, plus stuff in folding crates that needs sorting, but I know I`ll tend to dawdle over that so not even looking at them today.I filled a carrier bag with Old Slippers this morning. Can anyone suggest why I have kept them till now?I moan at OH and DS for hoarding, but I think I`m worse than the 2 of them put together!9

@Emm-in-a-pickle , brilliant work and yes I moan at my daughters and look round and most of it is me. Caring for my dad yesterday and today - he's 98 and almost full head of hair. Gave him his first hair for over a year ( should have watched a how to video) , at least he says easier to brush his hair and put hearing aid on ( bone conducting).
@newlywed brilliant putting quality clothes to CS. I find it hard to let go clothes with tags or big brands. Setting myself task when I've eaten healthier for 100 days ( day 10) will accept my size and aim for reducing clothes by at least 25%.12 -

Thankyou TC77 and Mrs SD. 'Summer ' is here and I have lot to look forward to
@mothernerd. I have a similar family. I was aiming for 55 which is when my dad died but now aming for a lot older. Big sis died at 48 a few years ago. Fortuanate to have been able to have a steady income over the years plus I discovered MSE.
Last night I did a job I have been putting off. Deleting emails from two accounts. I cleared over 5000. Must be more consistent with clearing them. Today returned empty plastic boxes x 3 to Sister's partner. They were full of paperwork and folders. I also have a home for two more box files and all the standard size folders. They will be going to another sister in April.
Finally, a single bed base has gone to my in laws todaqy, so one large item out.
Brought DD home from uni for Easter yesterday. I am pleased to say her room was clear.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Afternoon or evening
all.
Hope everyone is having a restful or productive day, I have done very little
Managed to get the usual rubbish out, we had roast beef for lunch and will have to be roast beef sandwiches for tea.
Have had a flick through the wardrobe but nothing is leaving as don't know if I will need any of these clothes for work and really don't want to be spending before I've earned anything.
Plus one has (finally) agreed some mugs can go but I will do this tomorrow. I will keep what is a full set (visitor's 🙄) and then our favourites, this will be more than enough.
Going to try and cut down the wood tomorrow so hopefully it should be easier to get shot of.
Nothing much to sell and nothing sold so all good on that front.
