Hi All
I have been missing in action for over 3 weeks, having a computer detox. After over 34 years of working in computing for a bank, I needed the time away. Sad to see that the bank is closing branches and rationalising head office locations, but pleased I no longer have to worry about it.
The ebay sales are going well, £519 of sales so far and still 13 items to go, with even more to list. We are taking our grandson, his mum and dad to Butlins once lockdown ends, anyone else for Peppa Pig and Thomas the Tank Engine.
We are re-designing the garden to make it easier to work with, both of us have dodgy knees. New fences went in last week, raised beds and a pergola should go in this week then we have the fence painting and serious planting to do. We dug up all the plants that we want to keep, aquilegias, foxglove, delphinium, lupins, papaver, knautia, irises, kniphofia. Various overgrown or dead shrubs were dug up and are now in a skip on the drive along with the fence boards, posts, kickboards and any other detritus we have decided to get rid off whilst we have the skip. Our neighbour is having their side of the garden fence done at the same time so we shared the cost of the skip, definitely a bonus as £100 saved
Counting our declutter as 31 items, would be too cheeky to count each fence board as 1 item, but if I did it would be 92
I am now at 180 items
Line of Duty is about to start so decluttering myself from here and will read back soon
Take care all

Good morning folks.
For anyone interested,my Tom cat uses the cat house in the garden.Result. Queen cat is a little short on gumption so doesn't! The cat flap is still cryptonite to them both.
So this morning we wake to a fully functioning radio studio in the loft. Floors, walls, ceiling, door sound proofed. desks assembled. Equipment working. This house was supposed to be a temporary house so the studio was never built here. Well covid has made us settle a while so Mr V who is allegedly retired can now dabble once again. He is freelance. presenter.voice over etc. He /we enjoy our little jobs locally but Mr V is a fully paid up lovey and misses radio work. With computers very little equipment is needed and he will not have to leave the house to present a programme.
136 . 4 new tee shirts given to Step son
137. jacket given to DD2

Morning all! After a few weeks of not being well and not doing a lot, we had a really productive weekend when it comes to decluttering by emptying most of the garage and taking the rubbish to the local recycling centre:
- Completely rusted BBQ left by previous owners
- Their old lawnmower which doesn't work and also completely rusted
- Piles of leftover decking that we couldn't salvage (we made flower boxes out of most of it!)
- Old roofing felt from the old door canopy that we had
- Broken toaster
Took three trips and the guys there recognised us on the last one so let us pick which bay we wanted to park in! I also started the huge task of going through my wardrobe and trying to downsize it. From previous attempts, things are kind of already organised into zones so I don't feel that I have to do it all in one, I can just go through a category at a time. Started off easy with pyjamas and workout clothes and managed to get rid of 27 separate items for donation. The drawer now closes and I know I don't need to buy anymore pyjamas, but I want to start upgrading my workout stuff from the cheap see-through primark stuff I have to things that will a) wear a lot longer and b) give me more support when I'm working out. So for each workout I complete, I'm putting £2 in a separate monzo pot and will use that to slowly buy my new workout wardrobe. I don't need new things right away so will wait until later in the year and I can make a trip to the outlets and try to get a few bargains!
On the list for today is to try and get the living room clean and tidy and do the last of the laundry so I can put the airer away for a few days and get some space back in the spare room.

17 items out yesterday, many many trips to the recycling and all the old veg and scraps turned into meals (chicken dinner, cauli/ broccoli cheese, pasta bake and beef curry - all stuffed with veg). Did an audit and compiled my shopping list at the same time.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11

I am feeling virtuous...this morning I took a carload of tapes, tatty paperbacks, odd socks, broken toys (original owner DGD is 21!), boot, back seat and all footwells but driver`s side filled, I could feel the weight affecting the car on the way there. There is still lots more to go, but I`m making frozen pea soup and planning a cold chicken leg and frozen chip butties to have with it (I am also trying to declutter a freezer which I hope to get rid of when it`s empty, I already have a small drawer freezer and a medium chest freezer, and if I`m honest it`s a bit too much, stuff gets buried and forgotten. I will make a start later refilling the large shopping bags that got emptied at the skip, till I have another carload.

I have packed up all the hm Barbie furniture and soft furnishings and used up some of my tissue paper mountain and the last of a roll of ballerina gift wrap, now the cardboard inner is in the recycling. More crafting items and material have been used up too. Also gone daily detritus, a clothes conditioner bottle, several "posted through the door" leaflets, a caravan magazine and a sweetener tablet container. Sorted and deleted lots of emails and bookmarked sites no longer needed.Today I will put out 2 green waste bins, including my flowers from Mother's Day
along with the recycling box for collection tomorrow.
Keep up the good work everyone.Stay safe and well.nan

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Hangs head in shame 😔 Did sweet f.a. over the weekend. Weather was mixed. Saturday lunch was the last of the hm guacamole; dinner was a tin of chicken soup for DSis & for DH & me it was lo cheesy pasta (more cheese & sliced tomatoes added)
Sunday lunch was a sandwich but pushed the boat out for dinner - pork medallions in mushroom & Marsala sauce, with boiled potatoes & carrots. My one concession to doing anything apart from the washing up, was to make a soup from lo bits & bobs from fridge & freezer 😔
Monday is a gloriously sunny day & warm in the sun 🙂 DH has gone off to donate blood - a four hour round trip 😱 I will be having a long soak after posting 😉 & will hopefully wash away the lethargy 🤞😉
671 - 674 Kitchen recycling x 2, drinks cans x 2 - recycled
675 - 677 Kitchen detritus x 2, plastic packaging - binned
Balabooberlies, I second your wishes for mothernerd 🙂
Absolutely brilliant moneyonmymindsam 👏🥳 Soon all that will be left to do is ‘keep clutter out’ 👏😉 ah yes, but remember who won the race 😉😉Good work TC77 👏 especially trying to train DD2 in the ‘Way of the Declutter’ 😉Well done Wednesday2000 👏 This weekend seems to have been one for training - hopefully you can persuade your husband to declutter the rest of his boxes, drawers etc 😉 Yippee to waking up with energy 🥳Sounds like a very productive weekend leelad 👏 - planting, cleaning, tidying & disposing of stuff before it becomes clutter 😉👏Nice to see you OWD_nana 👋 Do you think we would both fall over if we each tried to give each other a kick up the backside at the same time 😂Even being debilitated doesn’t seem to stop you mothernerd 👏 I am in awe 🙂 and finally you are definitely living up to your mission statement especially the compassion & humour 👏
Welcome aboard Emm-in-a-pickle 👋 I love the name ❤️ You are never to late to join us & I sympathise with the plans for life in retirement being put on hold. I had so many plans when I retired but they were blown out of the water within 2 weeks ☹️ I was over in France staying with my DSis, had only been there a few days when I got a call (Saturday night) saying my DH had been in a motorbike accident in Scotland. He was Okay apart from a broken leg & bemoaning the fact that his fairly new motorbike was a write-off BUT like many I thought his injuries were being glossed over 😟 Mad 24 hours to arrange flight to England & a train to Scotland - my DB sorted it all. Flight Monday, train Tuesday a.m. & at the hospital by Tuesday early afternoon. DH was awake but worried as there was a 2” gap in his thigh bone the bone had been ‘minced’ Long story short - a week in a Scottish hospital, then transferred to Royal London - bus journey from home, major op with metalwork & bone growth medium inserted, bed purchased for downstairs then months & months of rehab & now has a slight limp which is more pronounced when he is tired. I am so lazy, I never got back on track 😔😞

Hope everyone is good, sun is shining woo hoo.
A good day for washing but
don't have any 😂
I have eaten 3 financial /life admin frogs so a big yay to me. Plus one doesn't really understand loss or even consecutive losses (not that I would want him too) and struggles to understand why you can't just get rid off deceased people's stuff! I know he is right and that I should not assign sentiment to objects but that is grief and not something that is easy.
I have contacted an agent to put house on market and also a junk collection firm to gather "some junk" from mums.
Now that it's in progress I am pleased but stressed, have had a word with myself saying there is no future in the past and am hoping this mantra will ease the move forward.
Mugs are out so 4 gone (only 10 to go)
I may be bringing back quite a bit (well 1 car full) from mums but can sort that in time. I guess it just feels like the end of an era or something.
Sam x
