Mrs SD, at least you had a good excuse to put plans on hold, I didn`t. It`s amazing how fast one can go from being a `can`t sit still` person to a complete laid back manyana freak!Moneyonmymind Sam, I still have some of my mums stuff that is really just clutter now, but I have pared it down a lot in the last 42 years. I know it won`t mean anything to my DS or grandchildren, it is as you say, the end of an era. I`m bearing this in mind when getting rid of a lot of my stuff, rather than leave the job for the family. Not that I`m being morbid, I hope my era will last awhile yet. Meanwhile, I`ve filled another big shopping bag with junk, and made the pea soup.9

Sneaking back in 2 months later...
In that time we have listed and accepted an offer on our house, and had our offer accepted on a new property. As a result there has been a huge amount of clearing out.
Key things: 4 bags into a clothing bin, 6 bags of random things to the kids school, 4 rolls of old carpet taken, estimate another 30 bits and pieces gone up to yesterday, followed by 2 bike horns, 2 kids chairs, 2 piles of toddler cutlery and some tealights collected today....phew!

@ruby_eskimo I like the idea of building up savings for exercise clothes each time you exercise... might have to use that idea, although it might be each time I wash up (3 times a day) save for a dishwasher
One bra (lost a bit of weight and it just doesn’t fit properly) binned.Bought new undies in a smaller size, a couple of older pairs in a style I dislike will be binned, but not quite ready for the smaller size yet. So actually the opposite of decluttering!
made stock from the carcass of a roast.Sorted out my project 333 clothes. Actually only 30 but I don’t count jewellery.
added a couple more unwanted bits to the charity bag as I went.
bought a 2nd hand coat (quality rain coat brand) and it smelled fusty so washed it through in bicarb and vinegar, then borax substitute. Smells better now but will need to reproof it again. It is a size smaller than I currently am but does actually fit... so by the time we reach autumn I am hoping there is room for a jumper or fleece under it and then I don’t need any winter coats this year
I am finally looking round again as to what will go next (once charity shops open).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?9 -

What is that please newlywed?

3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Had a lovely bath - read some of my book - 1st in The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Now I smell lovely & my hair is tangle free 😉 Dinner was delivered - fish or pie & chips.678 - 684 Kitchen recycling, Uu hotel sized bath gel, cardboard soap wrapper, drinks cans, magazine, cardboard packaging, plastic bottle - recycled
685 Kitchen detritus - binned
Great work moneyonmymindsam 👏 My DH also watched all the moto gp races yesterday - I have stopped watching as there are no more lady riders. I loved watching Ana Carrasco in 2013 - 2015 & Maria Herrera in 2017. I hadn’t realised that there was a female rider in 2011/2012 season Elena Rosell. Very pleased that your new job training can be done at home - it will ease you in gently 🤞 Great work persuading plus one to release mugs 😉
Three financial frogs dealt with 🥳 that deserves a Gold Star ⭐️ moneyonmymindsam- well done 👏 What a marvellous mantra - “there is no future in the past” hopefully it will make selling your mum’s house easier & you will be left with the happy memories 🤞🙂Boo, leelad 😒 but agree with GrannyKate - your car boot is the best place for the broken sink 😉😉 or maybe Floss’s idea as a planter 😉Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 especially the suitcases/bags 👏 Very pleased that I am not the only one who buys & writes birthday cards in advance. In pre-Covid19 years I used to buy a years worth of birthday cards (from discount card shop) & they were all written, addressed, weighed & marked with posting dates (where the stamp goes) by the end of April. I am way behind this year & have had to rely on MrA having suitable cards - a bit hit & miss if I am brutally honest. Sounds like there is a good take up of the vaccine 🙂 but I hope you have a new date for your 2nd jab 🤞Great idea Floss 👏Great work EnergyShifter 👏 and congratulations on your first successfully knitted scarf 🥳 one medal 🏅 coming your way. Knitting is a great hobby 🙂 Yippee first 7 days of your morning routine completed 🥳 Keep up the good work & enjoy the good weather while it lasts 🙂What a great thing to declutter mothernerd - tension & mind clutter are debilitating ☹️ so well done 👏 Good work on the physical decluttering & successful cooking session 👏
Excellent work newlywed 👏 & I would definitely sell the coat & reward yourself with a new smaller coat for your successful dieting 👏👏 You have been busy newlywed 👏 I have a product called Nik?wax Tech to wash & reproof our motorcycle gear - quite expensive but just have to put in washing machine drawers 🙂
TC77, do your daughters actually keep on top of their clutter or is it all down to you? Perhaps they could help 😉 One medal 🏅 is coming your way to encourage you to complete your 100 day healthy eating plan. You are already 10% of the way through 🥳👏👏 & I imagine you are already starting to feel the benefits 🙂
Good work short_bird 👏 more emails gone 👏
Good for you bit_by_bit 👏 My plan is to get my ‘telegram/card’ probably from King William 😉😉 so I really should start looking after myself properly 😉 5000 emails - wow 🤩 that merits a medal 🏅 - a huge frog 👏 What a lovely post bit_by_bit 🙂
Excellent work Happy_Kitties 👏 Surely the presents were posting on time & got stuck in the system due to Covid19 😉😉
Very nice to see you gilly1964 👋 You have been busy 👏 Nice that you get on with your neighbour - very MSE to share the cost of a skip 👏 Your garden sounds wonderful ☺️
Still have Line of Duty to watch. However have just watched the last episode of Unforgotten 😢
Wow vulpix 🤩 another one of those happy consequences of Covid19 🙂 A fully working studio & a very happy MrV which translates to a happy vulpix 😃 You must be so happy that one of your cats is finally sing the lovingly built cat house 🙂👏😉
Sorry to hear you have been unwell ruby_eskimo ☹️ but very pleased to hear you are on the mend 🙂 you really did have a very productive weekend 👏👏 What a great & innovative way to fund your new workout clothing - I like it a lot so one medal 🏅 on its way 🙂
Good work nannywindow 👏 one very lucky young lady 🙂 Shame about the flowers ☹️
Not really Emm 😔 the accident was almost 10 years ago 😔 Sounds like you are a fan of Swedish Death Cleaning 😉 - which works by decluttering on your own terms rather than leaving it to your children who might just bin everything 🤔
Lovely to see you jenni_fer 👋 A successful & exciting 2 months 👏 Everything crossed 🤞 that the house sale & house purchase proceed smoothly & swiftly 🤞MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 685/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind.
