Old trousers have gone they are awful and if I don't bin them I will keep wearing them. I am still hanging on to the wellies until the new arrive. New wellies ordered with my new found cash stash
managed to get some nice Joules ones from eboy.
Got to find something else to be decluttered so I stick with my 2 a day target. I may get shot of some rubbish scissors as now they are all grouped together I have a few pairs.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)😔 I missed a day - so here goes 😉
Tuesday was a lovely sunny day but with a really chilly wind. I went to & from sm on the bus but did stop off at the P.O. to send a letter to French Tax Office (for DSis) by recorded delivery. *sda was not too busy (our sm is the one making headlines for a fight in the entranceway 😖😔) I took the opportunity to buy birthday cards for April & May + Easter Eggs & bars of chocolate to post to France + a few bits & pieces. When I got home I sourced 4 cardboard boxes & inner packaging for the chocolate goods. Will wrap, address & post next week - bearing in mind I will have to complete Customs forms 😖 B*exit the gift that keeps on giving 😭 DH went out on a reconnaissance trip to find 1. The vaccination Hub & 2. The Ap*le Store as both he & DSis need new batteries. Unfortunately the store is difficult to get to by road due to roadworks, diversions etc, so DLR & the Underground will be used. DSis also went to *sda - very busy with inconsiderate shoppers so took her ages.Dinner was a new to me recipe - Pot Roast Beef with French Onion Gravy, mash & carrots. I had to tweak the recipe a bit as I did not have a couple of ingredients but it was delicious 😋 & plenty left for Wednesday night’s dinner 👏Wednesday was mostly wall to wall sunshine 🌞 & no chilly wind 🥳 My decluttering today consisted of sorting out financial affairs. I started with phone call to my bank - paid cc bill, transferred the last of DM’s inheritance* to my nephew in France & checked accounts.
*I managed to eke out the inheritance for almost 13 years - previous experience led to the certainty that my DN would have blown the lot within six months if not sooner 😔🙄* Will continue working on paperwork through the evening. DH took DSis for her jab - the Pfizer one so 15 minute sit down. All very efficient & so far only side effect is a headache.Dinner was the pot roast with rice & peas not as tasty as with mash but at least we know 😉 There is even a bit left as a base to make soup 🥳 Also plenty of rice left for DH’s lunch tomorrow 👏 wudupa - I forgot to dance 😔
Numbers for the last two days:
429 - 439 Kitchen recycling x 2, drinks cans x 2, booklet, 0.5” card, 2 newspapers, cardboard box, bag of office recycling, empty wine bottle - recycled
440 - 447 Four boxes & 4 lots of packaging for parcels
448 - 451 Kitchen detritus x 2, plastic packaging, 0.5” shredding - binned
Excellent work Floss 👏 You have set your mind to the task & are reaping the rewards 👏😉🙂 The cash you earn could be used to treat yourself to fill in any gaps that you create in your wardrobe - when the world is a more normal place 🙂
The dress sounds beautiful vulpix 🙂 but if you have fallen out of love with it, selling it & the matching shoes sounds like a good idea. Good luck with the wedding planning 🤞
Your pounds gained is looking very healthy 👏 & you are probably feeling healthier due to the pounds lost 😉
What a result moneyonmymindsam 👏🥳🥳 I can envisage you blitzing your decluttering on the off chance of another lucky find 🙂🙂😉 Fingers crossed that the job hunt will be
Successful in the not too distance future 🤞 Sending you energy vibes 😉 Sounds like a good spend - new to you wellies 🙂
Good work bit_by_bit 👏 every little bit helps 🙂 Enjoy recharging your decluttering batteries 🙂
Great work GrannyKate 👏Elsien, sorry to hear that you are in the doldrums ☹️ Someone called it ‘The COVID Blues’ & I think many of us are suffering ☹️ Thank you for the cheerleading 👏 By the way replacing items is still decluttering & it is only a hop, skip & jump for you to release the tatty things from your home 😉
Great work mothernerd 👏 paperwork is such a pain to sort - I am sure it breeds 🙄
My DH will be around later - he loves sprouts 😉😉You are very welcome gilly1964 🙂 Excellent work in the garage 👏 Commiserations re having to clean the oven ☹️ - reminds me that I need to clean the smaller of my ovens ☹️☹️Wow retiredinfrance 👏🤩 excellent decluttering 👏 I keep forgetting that France is dealing with COVID by using curfews rather than lockdowns. Seems a more sensible approach to keeping businesses going 🙂 rather than the stop/start approach the U.K. government has opted for 😖 Rant over 😉 Spot on with your numbers 131 on p128 😉
Good work TC77 👏 Rather than trying on your clothes, how about having 3 piles:
1 = clothes you love 2 = clothes you hate 3 = undecided. Dispose of the clothes you hate as appropriate - cs or rag bag. I do like moneyonmymindsam’s idea which would probably work for the undecideds pile 🙂 + -taff’s suggestion is brilliant 🙂 & Floss’s approach is also great 👏 Lots of ideas & combining with a Decluttering Bingo grid - you will be very successful 👏🥳 I wish you every success in your other project - the decision making about hobbies 🤞Well done on the emails 👏Great idea moneyonmymindsam 👏
Thank you for that rather brilliant idea -taff 👏. I did thin out my wardrobe last year BUT I am sure that there is stuff in there that can go - so I have added this to my Decluttering Bingo Grid for March 😉
Another great approach to decluttering clothing - Thanks Floss 👏
Good work EnergyShifter 👏 Re the jumper, I have one of those - it is thin, 43 years old, the 1st thing I ever bought in a cs (in Oxford when I started training to be a nurse - I dropped out after 9 weeks in school & 2 weeks on a neurosurgery ward) & the ideal ‘take the chill off’ jumper - a lot of happy memories are invested in my jumper so it stays 😉
Decluttering at “glacial speed” - that did make me smile 😃 but remember every item out is a win 🙂👏Good luck with the book decluttering ScarletRibbons 🤞 Very sad about the charity shops ☹️Good work short_bird 👏 especially the kitchen remains 👏MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 451/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Slow going on the cleaning but small people here. 6 things left on February grid but guess I can make them a priority on the new 3 month grid for 1 March.
Decluttered;
435 Photos of late OH's relatives in Australia found - not good quality but I took pictures of them and sent to the relatives by email. Originals binned.

437 Emptied shredder to go with today's paper recyclying
438 Ordered a new paper recycling box - a job that has been on my brain for at least a year but took 5 minutes
439-450 Books boxed up for collection
451-452 Cardboard boxes reused

one jumper in CS pile 409 - lovely and warm but also have fleeces which although scruffier in a way - they are what they are. Lovely jumper so someone may buy at CS but I take it off for zoom meetings as doesn't flatter me. Will use the 'Zoom test' again. or would I enjoy opening the door to a neighbour! Doing a food diary as I don't realise how many snacks I have, and tend to forget! Will have pile of clothes to keep and review 6 weeks after pools open (used to swim several times a week) as their last chance.
Chargers, food, thread, tin dropped off to DD2 410 - 413. (given weeks off in March want to get to 750 by end of March as one big opportunity this week).
Hoping the sun appears later - take care everyone.
