So sorry for your loss,Marpau. Look after yourself.
Some hard core decluttering here as I tackle the walk in dressing as the French call it. Just too much stuff packed in.Started with
2 expensive leather bags that I used forwork but now are too big and wrong for my retired lifestyle. I have kept them i think because they were so expensive. But times change and it's off to the CS for them.
1 crochet blanket -I have nicer ones and am working on another one.
2 long cardigans
1 blouse
1 shirt
1 bag wool from stash
1 pile fabric from stash all for the CS
1 pile cardboard to recycling and
1 pile plastic packaging for bin can't be recycled and 1 pile bubble wrap for recycling
1 enormous plastic sheet for recycling
1 pile small rubbish for bin
2 bags for under bed storage to bin.
All of the plastic stuff came from where I had put it under the bottom shelf.
1 uu hotel shampoo used as soap.
I am on a no buy toiletries year so a lot of " soap" being used up.
I'm also on a no buy clothes year as I have plenty.
A win. I was clearing out the medicine drawer, as one does, by emptying it out on the dressing table and found a new mascara which really pleased me as my current one is done.
As the weather has been good i put out a lot of fabric and jumpers on the line and tidied it away in the "dressing" . However, I need to rethink why am sleeping two years of a 1960's op art fabric. For the fans it is the Voltaire design by a company called Hardy - black and grey circles thung. I obviously got it cheap in a CS .
I am working on my CS habit by not going in. I wish I could say it is willpower but it's Covid fear. That why I am on a no buying clothes year. Books i need and they go back which reminds me
5 books toCS.
Totals i think I was in 131/365
So
21+131=152/365. I think.
Haha and stay safe everyone.12 -

feeling abit overwhelmed, have a couple of weeks leave to take in March so have time to declutter and clean. Really had hoped I could go through clothes but having lockdown love handles I can't get in things to see if I want to keep them. Ideas on how to approach with several days and slightly anxious about how much to keep!

@TC77
I did put my possible "keeps" in a separate suitcase for 3 months and I sometimes scratched an itch by shopping in there if I felt I needed something different.

Also, I used the premise that if I didn't wear it pre-lockdown when I was that size, would I really wear it when I am that size again post-lockdown. 95% of the time the answer was "no".2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

187 earrings
189 & 190 - 2 x storage containers returned to friend
There should have been a jumper added to the list but yet again ... I find myself wearing it! This thing is more bobble than jumper but I just can't part with it yet.... so strange what we get attached to...

Good morning all, hope everyone is ok.I find it hard to get rid of clothes. as Taff says though, if you didn't look good in it before. you won't now - I try and apply this principle but still have been known to get things out of the charity bag.As well, sometimes I have been guilty of buying clothes that don't siut my lifestyle though I'm better about that now.I'm going to de clutter more books over the next few days - I'm also more careful about buying books, even from charity shops, not at the moment of course.I'm looking forward to the chazzers opening again, though some in our high street haven't and won't re open , pity.11

404 unblocked shower drain and fitted new hair catcher - fingers crossed it works
thanks for ideas on how to deal with clothes - think I'm disappointed charity shops not opening soon as would have been a good incentive. I think it will be easier going through summer clothes which I will get out - as many of these are 10 years old and what I'd wear 10 years younger in the summer will have changed
Also going to do a bingo sheet for what do to when I have a couple of weeks off work (have to take before end of March) will be mix of declutter/chores, and seeing if I really am going to knit/crochet, paint etc or if I can reduce these supplies.
Thanks for the motivation and inspiration on this thread!11
