Just back quickly to say I cleaned all the bottom cupboard and drawer fronts in the kitchen. the top ones need steps and DH came in to mop the floor so I made a quick exit. I hoovered stairs and all of 1st floor, emptied hoover twice today (ahem) then was promptly told I had to wait for hall floor to dry before I could come back down. So used time wisely and had a lovely relaxing bath, and used up some unopened travel size day and night creams as body lotion before they get too old ! there used to be a thread on here years ago about not buying toiletries and using up what you have..... I think I need that motivation!
The skip has left the building woop woop. In true decluttering style, I was having flooring put in this morning. Every time he cut a piece or finished with a box, I would run to the skip to ensure everything I possible could went. I even used the toaster slots for bits! Thankfully it was on the last box before the skip was collected! X
Good evening, Spent the afternoon in the garden decluttering weeds and turning the raised beds over. Pulled up the last few baby leeks that were left in the garden. Also Decluttered a couple of parsnips.
Earlier in the week spent the afternoon trying to remove the dirt from the grout between the kitchen tiles. Ended up using bleach (had tried non chemical but took too long). Stank the whole house out. It looks good, next time I must remember to do it in the summer when all windows and doors can be fully opened.

I'm awarding myself 10 points today. It's been a long and difficult day so I need to feel I've achieved something. I had left a message with the optician and had an early call from them to say they had a cancellation for 11.30 am if I wanted it. Was getting worked up yesterday so thought the sooner the problem was identified the better. My reading glasses are fine but need eye drops to stop dry eyes (and the stabby pains). Varifocals need replacing (£232 as I am no longer eligible for a voucher, free eye test only) and I need to keep using good light for reading, sewing and the laptop. I have early signs of cataract damage (probably what they picked up at the diabetic eye screening) but it is very early. So good news is I am not going blind, for now at least. Optician fixed the arms on my present varifocals so I can wear them for now (love the reading glasses but things start getting difficult from the knees down.
Whilst I was on town I posted 3 cards/ letters for mum, called in at the community shop (bought lovely vegan snacks), went to 2 shops in search of little sticky pads (to keep mum making cards). Neither shop had them but I picked up 3 for a £ ibuprofen, large tub of vaseline (mum's feet) and a large tin of nivea (we have both in stock - I replaced some of the gift pack items I've used through the last year but excellent prices and if the tin is as good as it used to be, I'd prefer those to the plastic pots. Second shop I bought 2 for £5 novels, sweets including liquorice for mum and a puzzle book (want to keep laptop usage down until I've had a few days of eyedrops) so a reasonably cheap alternative activity.
I knew I was feeling bad/ sad/ in need of cheering up and have found in the past that a small planned treat costs less than a breakout spend. Got cash from the machine for mum, went to Boots for eyedrops (reduced to £3.99, others were up to 4 x that), bought a meal deal (but avoided Greggs and numerous other pie shops) and 2 items from the sale shelf - a massage soap (it has lumps on) and a sweet little shark soap dish (bbc earth) which makes me smile every time I see it. Walked back to the taxi office. was ravenous when I got back so ate my sandwich (mum had baked 4 potatoes - I had washed 10, why did she only put 4 in the oven) and then got hit with a litany of complaints.
For the second time this week mum has pulled everything out of the bottom of a cupboard - exhausting herself and making herself ill, then wanted me to put things on a high shelf (which aggravates my arthritis in my shoulder). She had pushed a load of jigsaws right to the back of the top shelf - easy to do, a b****r to get them out again. I now have ten extra jigsaws in my room (luckily all my work over the past two weeks meant I had at least 3 empty cube boxes) and spent two hours on the floor, kneeling and lying (and struggling to get up again) sorting and listing canned goods that were already listed and in order. She couldn't find any soup - I did the kitchen cupboards two days ago and there were 4 soups in there (only space for 6). I did re-stock the the baked beans and tinned toms and did my best with the rice pudding and tinned fruit - someone (who shall be nameless, but there are only 2 of us here,) had taken all the prunes out of the last two deliveries and put them all in the one cupboard - which should be 3 grapefruit, 3 prunes, 3 peaches and one or more pears/ pineapples/ mandarins (SM was out of those for many weeks), 3 - 5 rice pudding. Anyway it is all sorted out again, including a variety of tinned soup where she can find them (they were in my room because there were old tins of soup and I wanted them all used before starting on the new ones).
About two bags of paper, one of cans/jars/ bottles/ plastics have gone out. Every bit of me hurts but I'm slowly recovering and I have put sausages I defrosted yesterday into the oven (my evening meal, only 3 hours late). I do love my mother but she drives me up the wall at times. More good news, cohort 5 and 6 are now getting letters about the vaccine. Cohort 6 (sounds very Roman military doesn't it) includes unpaid carer's (defined as those in receipt of Carer's Allowance - me, or those who are the sole or main carer for someone in the CEV clinically extremely vulnerable group - me again). All this and a promised 35p a week increase, how spoilt I am.
I must echo all the praise for our gallant cheerleader. Going to check my sausages now.

Slow start due to having already decluttered many things at the start of the year, but trying to focus on the things I ignore the most!
1 ~ Deleted over 1000 emails, always get loads about clothes, makeup and music, leave them building up way too long! 2 ~ Cleared away cans, rinsed and recycled 3 ~ Gathered junk mail, checked for any deals, and recycled 4 ~ Re-organised the downstairs cupboard, was done last month but quickly became disorganised again, trying to keep on top of it so it doesn't become a big clean up every year! Only took about 5 minutes rather than 45!
Not much to include but every little victory counts! 4/100
I forgot I gave my bread maker to my daughter yesterday to give to my granddaughter's partner. I've not been successful lately using it and he said he would use it. Somewhere I've put aside the instructions and receipt booklets. They will have to go another time.
I've dealt with another 4 items from my to do list, and have thrown away 4 more lots of packaging.
I need to declutter more weight...I've put on weight 3 days running. I have to reverse this trend. I've been doing so well lately

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I just worked out what the Wudupa is....... i am a bit disappointed because I thought it was some type of celebratory dance that you or Mr SD do after dinner every night. I thought it was very sweet that you took it in turns and sometimes did it together .... Dancing makes me smile much more than washing up so I think I will continue to think of you dancing after dinner 💃
