Evening @Carolyn12 we decluttered some clothes through the firefighters charity bin at a local fire station near to us. If you Google firefighters charity, you should be able to access their website and find the nearest clothes bin to you. Cheers 🙂10

A few items have left the house.
Yesterday I gave my daughter a vase back that she lent me to bring flowers home last year on my birthday.
I also gave her a scarf that belonged to my son. She asked for it a while ago, but I wasn't ready to let it go. Yesterday I was happy to let her have it as another item to remember him by.
I've had two items delivered and got rid of the packaging immediately, so that doesn't count as decluttering but it's how I aim to continue so nothing stays in the house unless needed.
I dealt with 9 items from my to do list. My daughter took three letters to post that I finally got around to writing to friends. I also proof read a complaint letter that my granddaughter sent me via email, made a few changes, and that also was ready for posting out.Not Rachmaninov

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Thursday was another mixed bag weatherwise- sun, cloud, showers & colder than it has been. I did nothing 😔😔 apart from wudupa after dinner which was the 2nd half of Tuesday night’s takeaways. DH did top up his curry with lo parboiled potatoes, cauliflower & sprouts which he cooked up using half a jar of balti sauce (from the fridge & well past it’s BBE date 😱)
The two builders did turn up - DH preferred the 1st chap but now awaiting quotes. Apparently extremely shoddy workmanship when the wall was built in 1998 - quelle surprise 😉

Now, now short_bird - every item out is a win, well done 👏
Great work Frogletina 👏 especially getting 9 items off your To Do list 👏 By the way, I beg to differ re packaging for parcels received - getting rid of it immediately does count as decluttering 😉
Hopefully, I will do better today (Friday) 🤞MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 395/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

2Scratters.............have been trying your 'get up when the adverts are on' technique. It has worked in a roundabout way. It takes so long to get up (dodgy degenerating hip) that by the time I am up there is no point in sitting down again. So big kiss and thanks.
Taff.......have signed up for 'A slob Comes Clean' newsletter. Lovely lady. So again big kiss and thanks.

Dana of A Slob Comes Clean did a collaboration with Cass of ClutterBug and Dawn of The Minimal Mom on YouTube during January. They produced a decluttering course (which had to be paid for and I believe they said they would be putting this on sale again later in the year) which brought together their different styles of decluttering, but also got together with a number of other YouTubers (A Hoarder's Heart is one and she is recovering from Hoarding Disorder as well as living with OCD) to put out free videos decluttering particular areas of their homes.
I came across Dawn first and have found her straightforward methods helpful, particularly a video she did about relating clutter to Maslow's hierarchy of needs (she's put out another one on the same subject this week but I found the original one more useful) which I was able to refer to as part of ongoing support for my friend who is recovering from Hoarding Disorder.
So, if you're needing a bit of inspiration it's worth a look on YouTube to find someone you can relate to as there are so many different ways of doing this.
Numbers so far this week - 0 items, 150 old emails deleted and 2 hours friend's paperwork.

Good morning from deepest darkest High Peak.
I feel progress is being made. Although nothing other than household recycling out, things are being used up. I love to use things up. I really don't like things going to waste. ( I could not work at the tip, it would break my heart) So, used up, wood on the wood burner, paint, hotel toiletries and another perfume. Also used up materials and fabric from my stash, oh and dried lavender from the garden last year. Also given away lots of cans of pop from the shop at work.
It helps me not to feel overwhelmed with stuff if I feel in control of it. I think, I don't need a huge store cupboard of food. The shops can store that for me.I don't want to be responsible for "stuff. Where I fall down is where people are throwing useable "stuff" away. I can usually turn peoples unwanted stuff into something to be loved again ,either for me or to sell or give away. I just don't have enough hours in the day to fit everything in.
My latest upcycle is on the craft stash board for those interested. My craft stash has reduced considerably over the last couple of years. There are some stubborn UFO's hanging about though.( unfinished objects.)
I have decided to employ a cleaner. When I can of course. I have a little job which I do for pleasure and the money would be put to good use back in the economy instead in my bank account. When my children were small I had 5 cleaning jobs .One every afternoon. It was a huge help to me back then. As I want a clean house but don't enjoy cleaning it ,having a cleaner seems to make sense.
Today I intend to turn my attention to the little Ercol chair.

Hello everyone, just popped in to celebrate mad cleaning hour and a half. DH did the bathroom from top to bottom, tiles windows the lot. I did the kitchen under the sink all the worktops and inside the fridge. Sorted all of yesterday’s shopping from farm shop and have separated and frozen meat packages and frozen some fish. Used up some veggies for soup for lunch today. Slow cooker is on for lamb shank tonight.emptied a few cleaning products to recycling and Bins emptied. Washing put away. Hoovered all of downstairs.
feel better for having done that. If I can summon up the energy I am going to wipe down the outside of the fridge and the cupboard doors in the kitchen this afternoon. Keep up the good work all !15 -
Not much to report as I have just decluttered GCs home after 2 days. They have cleaned up all their toys and left everything tidy. GD4 who is 8 helped me do some surveys - there was one about buying toys - I've told her she can have the £5 Am**** voucher when it is due. Invited there for Sunday lunch (in a bubble). Waiting for a parcel collection but hopefully they will come in time for me to go to tip with a few bits.

Dear Mrs SD just the best cheerleader anyone could ask for!! and all my lovely declutter friends.
I am going back to lurking for now but will quietly cheer you on from the side lines and take on your helpful ideas and enjoy your friendly banter.
My leg problem is now in week 5 and my ability to do anything is limited. Im trying to adapt until i see a specialist.
I shall not be defeated!! But currently not managing much apart from keeping the minimum ticking over by sitting and bum shuffling and a few steps in between. A true shock when im usually out walking 4 to 6 miles a day.My fit bit has been removed as it thinks im constantly asleep 🤣🤣
About to check out dana the secret slob and love the cleaning bingo for jobs easily forgotten ..so onto planning those
Bye bye for now
Gx
