@moneyonmymindsam... I understand what you say and context is exactly right.... my post was obviously taken out of context
Enough said I think x6 -
Decluttered a lot of boxes for the new products and reused a light in a different area.
Took hours to put up the new light but it looks totally worth it!
Starting to get to the bottom of the boxes now. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x11 -

@BarbCh for info, I find it difficult when photos are posted as I read on my phone & it is frustrating to see several pages of full screen photos.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi Evreryone,
I had the morning off on Tuesday, so both of us having a go at the loft. Hubby dropping things down and me bagging or boxing at the bottom, I don't do lofts and interestingly neither does our dog. He cowers when the hatch is opened.
We had a good go yesterday, another 20 empty boxes recycled, 3 bags full of fishing magazines recycled, 30 computer disks given to a neighbour for their allotment, they turn them into bird scarers, ceramic dolls, Barbie, Polly Pockets, various Disney toys all boxed up (2 boxes) to be delivered to DD, following all posted on FB Marketplace, camelback, 2 lampshades, gymball, Compare the Market Meerkat claimed by DGS so that will be going home with him. Bag of unwanted clothes given to son's girlfriend, no idea why I bought them, I definitely would have been mutton dressed as lamb :-(
Why do we all keep empty boxes and then forget about them, some of the boxes had our previous address on them, we have been in this house 23 yearsEven more to the point why did we bring them from the old house?
Counting our haul as 32 items which brings us to 93 for the year
Today we are having a rest, our Grandson is here as Mum and Dad both working, I love our childcare bubble days, two year olds should come on prescription.
Hubby had a fall in the house this morning, he has no idea how it happened as seemed to just fall over his own feet. It was one heck of a tumble and he is bruised and sore, but nothing physical broke. Unfortunately he did break one of my favourite ornaments as he went down but in the scheme of things that is unimportant.
DGS has started potty training and in the last month has only had two accidents. When he wants to go he shouts help help and does the wee wee wiggle
Received my official redundancy calculation in the post today, but no surprises that it does not make sense so will need to sign on to work to email HR
Mrs SD, I feel relieved as I would not want to work for the Spanish bosses. Nine people were kept on and having seen the job profiles I feel like they will just have their knowledge picked until past their usefulness. I am however sad that I cannot see people to say goodbye. I am hoping that I may be able to retire early, if so that will be a bonus.
GrannyKate, can you please tell me more about your cleaning grid. I feel that I will need some structure once jobless and this may help me with ideas.
Vulpix well done on the bunny cushions, but even without those you have every reason to be here, cheering from the sidelines is as important as taking part :-)
I hope to be more active on the thread post job.
Happy Decluttering
All the best Gilly x

gilly1964 Copied cleaning grid from elsewhere. Just did a simple chart for remaining days in February (21 at the time) then wrote things randomly in boxes eg Bedroom 2, garage, Hall, Kitchen I've split up into top cupboards, base cupboards, oven etc. Crossed off 9 boxes so far. At end of month I think I will make a grid to last 3 months or so - clean one thing properly at least every week. I hate cleaning and tend to do easy things if not following a plan. MY DIL does some cleaning for me a couple of times a month - all the floors washed or hoovered and bathrooms and kitchen cleaned so I should be able to do the rest.
Been to park with small people so decluttered cobwebs - house looks like something exploded but most will go home with them Friday morning.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Okay, I have a line of cube boxes along the top of two sets of drawers (with two jigsaws in there to even up the disparity in drawer heights). Put the plank of bathroom cladding across and one end was hanging in mid air so stacked 2 more cube boxes on an ex-dining chair with a 2 drawer wooden box on top and an ice cube tray wedged in to a gap. All the filled mushroom boxes are lined up on top. Going to prioritise seeds for greenhouse/ polytunnel plants (tomatoes, peppers etc) as I want them to be a good size before they go out (first lot of seeds were mainly brassicas and packets that were open/ part used).
Good painting weather but really didn't feel like painting but went round the garden with a large clear plastic sack, rounding up clean empty 2 l bottles and gathered ones in the shed. Filled three clear sacks (about 25 - 30 in each) altogether - lots of small quantities in the shed and then when I ran out of space I just shoved them into any gaps or threw them on top and let them find any spaces. All tied up behind the shed, should be safe unless there is a huge wind and even then should stay together not single bottles flying about. Found my proper tool box and put the box it was in, in the paper bin (weighted it down with the tub of wild bird food fat balls this morning so have another ten inches in there to fill). Collected bin brought back in and random items decanted into it. Small quantity of rubbish from the shed, 6 more mushroom boxes for seedlings, all the yoghurt pots (first size pots for growing on) in a bag for life, found a six pack of 1 l bottles of fizzy water and had room to shove the rotary dryer back in the shed and shut the door.
Came back in and have just folded and put together 9 empty bags for life (emptied over the past few days). Reshuffled the toy cupboard this morning and put all the dvds DS2 brought, in there - he and his gf brought a large tv with more app options and a dvd player to keep us going until we can get someone to sort the aerial out (may involve water damaged wall. So I'm awarding myself 10 points for today (possibly 20 re-used items as well but 10 is fine). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -
