I must have read the book about twenty times because during the time I was decluttering, it kept me focused. Besides, with my memory, I'd forget things
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger um...just goes to show that wrestling will be forever more important than decluttering...Here's a link that's right https://www.aslobcomesclean.com/about-me/

Frogletina - your story about the book resonated with me. Years ago I was tidying books up with a view to getting rid of some when I spotted a book with loose pages. I pulled it out and realised the book was intact although the loose pages definitely came from the same book so were duplicates. The worrying thing was I had no idea if they were there when I read the book or how they got there. Fairies in the bookshelves perhaps.
Onward with cleaning and decluttering.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Week 7 8-14/2 last week's post! I've been busy on the decluttering front. Sorted through my sock drawer and removed a few items. Also lost something in the bathroom, which meant I sorted out all the bathroom cupboards (still didn't find it). Have decided to place the samples / multi pack items in the shower or on my table in the lounge where they will actually get used. uu hand cream I put on lounge table and shampoo / cond sample.I decided that we weren't going to get a weekend away anytime soon. So the Clarins travel set I got for my birthday last year has been opened. I would hate to not use it.I have found a local crisis charity that is open for donations, it's opposite big supermarket so can kill two birds with one stone. DH got lots of bags of children's clothes from the loft. I need to sort through them and deliver - this week's task.I decluttered the last of the parsnips from the raised bed
and noticed the celeriac was not looking happy. So I harvested them, chopped and blanched. They are now in the freezer ready for use.
I also found a bag of clothes in my car boot, they have now been delivered to the clothes donation bin.Decluttering target:

Another week has passed and it has been eventful
I along with 60 colleagues have been decluttered, redundancy after almost 34 years for me. It was not unexpected as my work is going to Spain and we have been teaching them how to do the work for almost 8 months. Probably a casualty of Brexit as the Spanish get less than half my salary. My last day will be 1st March.
Hubby has been very busy in the loft, 2 manky laptop bags to bin, manky suit cover to bin, broken shower motor to bin, another 15 boxes to recycling, 2 manky cushion inserts to bin, 2 multi frames offered for free on FB.
That takes us to 61 for the year so far
Happy Decluttering

Quick update to keep me motivated. DD’s clothes sorted through, 36 items out! A matching game missing too many pieces, a spinning toy that no longer lights up, a halloween costume, a small bag of rubbish and a jumper of mine that just needed to go.
Hopefully I’ll can check in later with some more item out but as long as all the toys look tidy I don’t mind if we don’t get rid of much!

Three boxes crossed off on my cleaning grid this morning - 1) En suite bathroom - a quick clean and sort through the one wall cupboard -DS2 is going to help me decorate in there soon - I have the paint
2) Second bedroom - not much in there and regularly culled anyway. There are some pictures in wardrobe that I have to decide about - to keep or not but they are not going back in loft 3) Kitchen wall cupboards - recently reorganised but there are some food stuffs (in date) I could use up if I did some more cooking. I have 2 shelves of late DH's cookery books which I will keep - I don't need the space for anything else - perhaps I will set myself a challenge of taking one book at a time and making things I might like. If some books mostly not to my taste I can then get rid of them 1 at a time. I guess I should try making bread - I've never done it but DH was keen. I have many ancestors who were bakers including my mother so I should make an attempt. I have two cookery books, Mrs Beaton and original Dairy Cookbook, which were given to me when I got married nearly 51 years ago. I use them regularly still but the most popular pages are stained with butter and flour. Lower kitchen cupboards will be more of a challenge when I get to them.
325-326 Instruction and recipe suggestion booklets for kitchen items we no longer have
327 Picnic blanket - very expensive but it did not recover from being machine washed (only wool 30) and bit small anyway. Not much use having a picnic blanket you can't wash.
I need comfort food so making beans on toast for a quick lunch. I have a new greenhouse so quite excited about being able to get outside and use it.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Evening everyone,
Hope you are OK and warm 💕
Few bits out (well given to someone I know who wanted them, it was a good exchange as I got teabags as a swap 😁)
Out :
4 light bulbs (I have plenty left)
Wind up torch
2 pairs boot laces
3 winter hats
Bag for Life Shopping bag
3bay sales have gone crazy so pleased with the cash but totally had enough of selling/posting. I have only 4 items left listed at the moment and perhaps 2or 3 more to list as bundles.
Now trying to get shot of old TV.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Tuesday has been a dryish but warm day 🥳 even had some sunshine 🥳
We started the big tidy up of the collapsed wall - seeing as the insurance company won’t be dealing with it 😖 DH went round to the car park (of the flats) & started the major task of throwing/dropping the bricks into our garden. Quick explanation - the wall was two separate 6’ high walls with a small gap in between. The wall nearest the car park is only 1’ high now, but the wall of our garden only lost the top third (so now 4’ high) BUT all the bricks fell into the car park 😱
We have used the old shed door as a base for stacking bricks & placed it in front of the smaller raised bed. DSis & I were knocking off the mortar from each brick & I was stacking - rectangles of of 36 bricks, one set side to side, next set back to front - rinse & repeat. Unfortunately the mortar is very difficult to knock off - so our first session of 90 minutes resulted in 4 rectangles = 144 bricks. DH managed to clear a space around the abandoned previously wrecked car (the collapsing wall only caused a few tiny dents but no breakages - a real surprise 🥳) He also started moving bricks from the small hedge (car park side) - hopefully it will bounce back 🤞I have instructed DH to leave the bricks from next door’s part of the wall & just concentrate on our wall detritus 😉 Stopped for about an hour then I went out to do a bit more, with DH & DSis joining me about 10 minutes later 🙂 We spent another hour in the garden. The remaining bricks that had just been thrown over the wall are now resting in the large raised bed awaiting de-mortaring 😉 but did manage to stack another 48 bricks. There is a small stack of broken bricks, a small stack of brick tiles, a trug full of mortar & a large crate full of mortar.I think we have probably managed about a quarter of the required work ☹️ 😱
Needless to say no inside decluttering 😔 Takeaways for dinner - Indian for DH & me, Chinese for DSis.367 - 368 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, plastic bottle - recycled
369 Kitchen detritus - binned

Today's list4 bits of paperwork3 buttons from duvet I no longer have1 fabric button1 bead1 key1 badge2 magazines1 cotton reelI also decluttered 3 items from my to do box (but I only count physical items that I've thrown out/donated)
I've been going through my coats and jackets today. I found one coat where I need to sew on two missing buttons...I had kept them aside.
Another jacket has two missing buttons. I cannot find missing ones and they must have come off out of the house. Each cuff should have 3 buttons on. One is missing so I'll take one off the other cuff to put on front of jacket. I'll might look for new ones at some point. Nothing suitable in my button box.
1 raincoat to be donated as I'll never wear it.
