Afternoon,
Failed to drop off the shoes - but will endeavour to do it next time I am out.
Minimised 2 cardboard boxes (1 was a Xmas eve type box)
Couple more bits just listed on the bay.
In the process of make do, mend and minimise by making a single mattress topper and 3 dog beds from some orthopedic memory foam, elastic and and a white sheet.
Nothing out today as yet as pretty clear in most areas but I need to do a finance "shuffle and sort" this afternoon.
Hope everyone is warm (it's still so cold here) and as well as they can be all things considered.

My last post was 2 weeks ago and I haven't managed much decluttering during that time. Only 6 items out and no emails.
4 half hour (phone) sessions have taken place with friend and 1 1/2 box files of paperwork gone through and most has been recycled/used to light fire - I am very pleased with this progress.
Mrs SD, thank you so much for my gold star.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅9 -

Did a bin shuffle this morning. The paper bin (which will not be collected until next week) was full to the brim so took a lot out, pulled out the large boxes the raised beds came in and ripped them into small pieces that would lie flat (they also compressed all the more papery bits underneath)and added new stuff (roughly 3 bags worth). Probably enough room for 2 more bags worth now.
Looked at the brown bin (which will be collected this week) as it's also full. Last time I hauled out loads of cans and squashed them to make space then put the extras in when the bin had been emptied. This time it's 2 l bottles rather than cans. I normally save them to use in the garden (I had rows stapled along the fence last year with salad leaves and strawberries in) but I had a batch which were over pressurised and I've been having to stab them and then trickle the contents into a jug. I have lots of empty 2 l bottles so the damaged ones have gone in the bin. So I've put a bin bag by the side of the bin and will put any brown bin stuff (cans, bottles, plastics but not plant pots and other 'not the right sort' of plastic) in the bag until the bin is emptied on Wednesday.
Started a new bin bag indoors (not ordinary rubbish this is extra, going round hunting it out rubbish) and it's half full). Going to do the same outside, made a start by using an old bucket (no handle and rim is broken, been used as a paint bucket for at least 4 years) and will take out another bin bag to fill when the bucket is full. Meals were either part made or used leftovers (finished off the bag of frozen peas, no chips but suggested new potatoes instead so fished out all the ones that were in the bottom of my use up bag (also used a cauli, cabbage, broccoli, head of celery, lots of carrots and a box of mushrooms plus the ends of two frozen veg bags over the weekend. Food order not coming until Thursday so will use a few more odds and ends before then. Used the last bit of a dip with 4 large carrots and a handful of celery sticks for breakfast.
I have put 5 bags on my bed. They don't seem to have a lot in but it's bulky. May further reduce my bubble wrap stash (long blue sausagey pieces first) and see what other 'justins' are in there. Spent the afternoon watching a film and embroidering advent calendar mittens. Embroidery stuff can be further condensed (2 drawers of thread will soon be reduced to 1 and the wip can go into a small wooden drawer but want to get a little further on so threads in use don't get mixed with the others. Will come back with a total. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -

Charity bag was collected today it was quite full so pleased with that!
I wondered what you meant Mrs SD about not being the weather to defrost the freezer - then I realised lots of people keep freezers outside, and it would take ages being so cold..... but we don’t have a garage so it’s just a fridge freezer in the kitchen. Anyway it took an hour, job done, and a relief!
New bed linen arrived this afternoon, washed it and put it on the bed and it looks lovely 😊
2 parcels wrapped and sent. Then went for a long walk In the woods, need to declutter all the mud from our boots and trousers now! At least the weather is milder but it’s been so wet it was very muddy.9 -
Charity bag was dropped through the door so got DD to go through her clothes and pick out things she wouldn't wear and pop them in. Saves me having to go through her clothes again. She enjoyed doing it too as she then knew I wouldn't force her to wear things she doesn't want to. It is being collected tomorrow so that is now safely on the doorstep.
I have 8 items listed on ebay too.
Decluttered a subscription too saving me £10 a month. I have given up counting how much has gone. I will just keep trying to get rid.
I am on the second round of the kitchen now. The first was when I emptied it, and now I am slowly putting things back, I am checking everything has a place and purpose otherwise it leaves the house!

Day off cleaning today so not much decluttering either. Touch of the Covid blues which I think we are all going through. A few bits to add to totals;
319-320 Unsubscribed from 2 regular emails
321 Sorted and culled 4 email folders
323-324 Remains of yesterday's 2 chickens turned into; Chicken salad for tea (it is slightly warmer today), 4 portions of chicken and sweetcorn soup, 3 pots of chicken in stock to use for meals in future. Now freezer is working I have somewhere to put them.
I did rejoin some survey sites over the weekend and have collected some small amounts already. I used to do these a lot before OH became ill and I used to get vouchers and nice little amounts of money from them. I've also started doing competitions again.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
