Frogletina my DD loves Snow fairy shower gel, she'd have bitten your hand off, and me.... I had to buy her some for xmas !Out today to recycling an empty large coffee jar, a sweetener clicky thing and some cardboard packaging from ready meals that we had yesterday, not the best. Only because I couldn't be bothered to cook from scratch as I normally doLoving all the before and after photos too, very impressive !Hugs to anyone in neednanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8

Hello all. Confession time..... On a mission to use up hand and body lotion “stash”. I have found toiletry bags full of hotel travel size ones (and I don’t think we’ve been to a hotel that gives you them since 2016) not only that but we’ve moved house twice since then..... so instead of storing them at the back of the cupboard, I must use them! I also found some expensive skin creams unopened that I bought before my wedding day (almost 6 years ago) so they need using up too.
also quite a few soap bars. So our liquid soap in the bathroom has now run out so I am determined to use up the bars before I buy more. I was on a mission to use them all up when I first met my now DH 10years ago. I am sure we didn’t buy soap for 2 years ahem..... so where these have accumulated from I don’t know!
We have a back stock of toiletries in this cupboard but I think I just buy more without checking as the cupboard is always full. Must address this......
am currently defrosting the freezer, so pleased to have got to this point as it was crammed full and disorganised before Christmas. it’s a good day!9 -

@D123456789 new to the thread and having a browse through, just wanted to say that even in sealed containers some beauty and skincare products can still go 'out of date' after a few years. Most of the time it just means they aren't as effective but in other cases it could cause some irritation, try a small patch test of each product first to make sure it isn't going to irritate your skin before using fully

Afternoon. I've tried to have a read through but you've all been so busy!
We had the boiler man coming Friday and tge utility room (past the washer/dryer) was totally unaccessible. DH had a shed delivered and spent a good few hours in the freezing cold putting it up with DS. All his tools were then moved to it. The dryer we borrowed from his parents when ours died but they don't want back (DD1 has said she will have it) was also moved across and then the utility room was cleaned and tidied.
The kitchen was also scrubbed.
Then yesterday was spent helping the girls in their room to make space for DS2 while we decorate tge boys room.
I only have my list as DH said he was too busy to keep count....
231 kitchen cleaner used up
232 ceramic bowl with a crack in it
233-234 frying pan and wok both gone rusty
235 carrier bag of rubbish from the girls room
236 dog food sack
Not as much as I would have liked gone but better than nothing. There is a pile of cardboard boxes from the girls room but not counting them until they leave incase they find some daft use for them 🤣LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)☹️ Anyone would think I was busy yesterday as I didn’t post 😉 unfortunately you would be incorrect ☹️ So Saturday was a day of clearing down programmes from the TV planner.
including watching ‘Contagion’ - I know, I know but very prescient (not too accurate on the rioting & the mass graves but sd, masks, hand washing, rumours etc etc all rather chilling) I have to say I was creeped out by the film when I saw it years ago & it is even scarier now.
Lunch for DH & me was the last of the hm guacamole & tortilla chips. The one task I did complete was to go through my glass jar stash - the neighbour actually gave me 6 jars (not 7) but I did manage to recycle 10 jars which were either too large or had plastic lids.Dinner was sausages, mash & plum tomatoes for DSis. DH & I had HB sausage casserole with boiled rice.Sunday is another dry cold day but the bitter wind has stopped 👏342 - 353 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, 10 glass jars & lids - Recycled

Thank you for sharing both your feelings & the very apt poem, EnergyShifter 👏 I also applaud your decision to speak to family & close friend - it has obviously helped you 🙂 It could be useful to actually buy a lottery ticket 😉😂
Sounds cold 🥶 TC77 😱
You are so right, moneyonmymindsam 🙂 A year of uncertainty is not conducive to robust mental health & anything that helps us cope can only be good 🙂 Sounds like you have broken the back of your decluttering if you are struggling to find things to sell 👏🙂
Excellent work D123456789 👏 sounds like you are getting a decent amount of cash for clutter 🙂 and you have done a great job on using up freezer produce although it is a bit too cold to defrost the freezer 😉
Great work GrannyKate 👏 I was aware that socks bred but walking sticks & umbrellas 😱Wow skint_chick 🤩 you have been busy, lots of decluttering 👏So sorry to hear about the postponed operation kat360 ☹️ but I think you made the correct decision for you - you would have been worrying about your children rather than concentrating on yourself & your recovery. Hugs on the way 🤗 Meanwhile excellent decluttering 👏Brilliant work leelad 👏 You have worked very hard and can now reap the rewards 🙂
I especially like that you managed to move lots of stuff out of your home completely 👏👏
One Gold Star ⭐️ for you & one medal 🏅 for your daughter for her stoicism 😉Wonderful attitude ‘take each day as it comes & celebrate the small wins’BarbCh, unfortunately I haven’t yet done anything to warrant a photo 😔 You have a beautiful home BarbCh 🙂 You are an example to all of us, extremely hard working & dedicated 👏👏 You are a marvel BarbCh - I am excited to see what the table looks like when you have finished your up cycling 🥳Great work TC77 👏
Good work Nicnak 👏 The size of packaging never ceases to amaze 😱 but at least when it is gone you can see the space immediately 😉😉 Very frugal & careful re the candles 👏Yippee GrannyKate 🥳 enlisting youngsters - the next generation of declutterers 🙂👏😉Well done Frogletina 👏 sounds like your decluttering is done & now you are in a position to ring the changes by moving ornaments 👏 What a beautiful home you have Frogletina 🙂 Your mother’s wood carvings are stunning - what a truly talented lady 🙂
Keep up the good work EnergyShifter 👏
What a lovely post gettingthrifty - you have brought a smile to my face 😊
Great work on the medical supplies mothernerd 👏 The action plan sounds great 👍 and all the prepping work will stand you in good stead for successful completion 👏👏 It reminds me that I do feel so much less stressed when I prep all my ingredients first before starting to cook 😉 rather than winging it 😞
Excellent work Gem-gem 👏 and it must be very gratifying that hubby is on board 🙂Brilliant work Foofoopuppy 👏 It is a concern that we might all go shopping crazy 😱 when the world starts to return to some semblance of normal 😱 Fortunately forewarned is forearmed 🤞 I think my first outing will be to the pub with my DH 😉😂 - a few drinks, a lot of chat & NO food 😜
You really are in the wars Chieveley ☹️ and thank you for taking the time to post 👏 Hugs are on the way 🤗
Good work short_bird 👏
Hugs to you TC77 🤗
Good work villagelife 👏
Great decluttering Frogletina 👏
Now, now VickyV - every single item out is a success & should be celebrated 👏👏
Is it really Valentines Day?😉 moneyonmymindsam 🙂 The heated overthrow blanket sounds good - regardless of the colour 😉 Good work on the decluttering so far 👏Nannywindow, remember you have to have the odd ready meal once in a while to remind you how tasty home cooked food is & that it is worth the effort cooking from scratch 🙂Thank you for your confession D123456789 👏 - you are forgiven 😉 especially if you promise NOT to buy any more toiletries until the cupboard is bare 😉😉😉 Great work on ‘Operation Empty Freezer’ 👏 Hope the defrost goes well 🤞
Excellent decluttering greent 👏 Halo for free cycling the wood 😇
Hi lindsay54v3 👋 excellent advice for us all, thank you 👏
Excellent work charlies_tribe 👏 In lieu of your DH’s missing list (he needs a bit of training to start counting 😉) I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ - hard work should be recognised 🙂🥳🥳 All done 🥳🥳MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 355/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. @Mrs_Salad_Dodger I'm a couple months late to the game due to being new to the site but would love to take part regardless! I'm a bit of a self-confessed hoarder, very emotionally attached to clothes and items but January is the first time in years I've managed to let go of many unusable/unwanted items and can't believe how refreshing it was!
Current goals are to:- Help B-I-L retile the bathroom and replace the bath side board (the items for these tasks have been sitting around since summer
so discussed it with him and offered to help him get through the work on Wednesday!)
- Get the outdoor fences repainted once the weather warms up and gets dry, which will get rid of a few buckets of fence paint
- And have three bags of my OH's mail to shred or burn that has been collected over 7 years, but I did tidy up all of the important/necessary mail items into an organiser/folding/box thingy which keeps it neat and stored away!
- Sell my 3DS XL which has been unused for a few years
My overall target would be to try to declutter 100 items (smaller target as not included what has already been done and it's attainable for me)

Garage appears twice on cleaning grid so crossed garage 1 off. In order to move fridge freezer into utility I had to empty shelves and move stuff round so one end of garage rearranged and cleaned as we went along. Freezer seems to be working ok but I've put a small bag of cauliflower in it to see if it stays frozen over night. There wasn't a lot to throw out but I managed some bits:
305 Playdoh cutters
306 General bag of bits and tat
307 Spare Clothes horse - bends when you put more than a couple of things on it
308-309 2 tins of mushroom soup sell by date 2018 - must have escaped the last cull.
310-311 2 garden wall brackets
312 Cycle wheel lights
313 Gadget for picking things up off floor
Now de-cluttered GCs after Sunday lunch. They have cleared up after themselves and left toyroom tidy. Found a sock which looks like nearly new but suspect its friend has already gone in bin so this may be going tomorrow.
