Hello everyone, Happy Sunday.
So I've cooked roast beef with all the trimmings really as a bit of self care.
Fleabay has been good to me so auctions ended and £65 better off.
Just doing the parcels and will drop them off tonight then they are done.
Need to take dog 1 back to vets so in one hand out the other 😂
Not much decluttering, only cleaning was a hoover by plus one.

Evening MrsSD and fellow declutterers,
Well, a productive day on the attic decluttering front. Saturday was a write off with the rain. Recycled enough paper & card to fill a 40 x 30 x 20 cm cardboard box. That's now in the recycling bin. It will be emptied a week tomorrow. Struggling to fit any more in it 😄 Next job was to fill and then recycle the contents of the same sized box with various hard plastics, including all the empty pots from our daughters playdoh set which had gone hard over the years. Then in the bin has gone a bag of stuff I can't describe but it can't be recycled, so that's gone. A bag of used but in good condition clothes has now gone in the firefighters bin at our nearest fire station. Two bags of fabric have now gone to the recycling centre alongside the mountain of all the other fabric they have already. And then I recycled a load of batteries at our nearest Aldi. So a good day, but it's helped that I am reading this thread every day or every other day and staying motivated 🙂 will do a bit more next weekend on attic decluttering after hopefully a productive week at work, cheers 🙂13 -
I've half cleaned the windows. Just took the top layer of dirt off. Only another 5 years of dirt left to get off them!
Still binning things from the kitchen but it's slowed down. Probably only another few bags left to sort.

My crushed nerve gave me numbness and pins and needles in my legs and feet. Don't fear surgery if it's offered. I just cried as the consultant told me all the possible side effects beforehand. When I woke up, "that pain" was gone. It was a big operation but I would do it again.
Funny you should say about the curly rug, I moved it and put weights on it earlier.
The pallets are firstly to make a cat kennel for the back garden, the remainder to cut up for the wood burner. We did some work on the kennel today but it was just too cold outside to do much. The chairs and dark furniture in the pic are things that I am renovating.
Someone further back in the thread mentioned that they would play bingo with their jobs/decluttering. We have made a list of things to achieve and we have made it into noughts and crosses instead.

Thanks for my gold start SD, good job it is virtual so not cluttering up the house!
About my declutter bingo - I dont date it then I can chose a task based on time/energy/need, I don't even have to do one task a day, I might miss a day then do 2. I simply drew a 7 x 4 grid to represent each day in Feb, then put a different task in each box. When I have done a task I simple put a cross through it and hopefully I will have 28 crosses in the grid by the 28th.
In other declutterring news I have done 2 of the tasks in the bingo - sorted underwear drawer which involved throwing a coupe of pairs of knickers that have seen better days and then making it look nice and pretty when I put everything away. I also recycled the pile of junk mail that was building up.12 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Sunday has been oh so very cold 🥶 & we have had snow - very fine snow & took several hours before it settled as the ground is so wet ☹️ We have a very fine layer in patches although cars, garden boxes etc do have a cm or so of snow. The hm soup tasted very vinegary for no apparent reason, so the last portion has been added to the worm food bucket but will be thrown onto one of the raised beds. Dinner was a disappointing beef casserole with mash & peas. The lo casserole will be reheated in the oven tomorrow.
Major trauma @ 5.45 p.m. - a really loud crash came from back garden 😱 The top half of the back wall (along 2 houses) has fallen over. Next door’s portion of the wall has landed on a car 😱😱 DH knocked on the neighbour’s door & advised them to get in touch with the letting agent (although they didn’t hear the crash 🤔) So DH has emailed the estate management company & contacted our insurance company to give them an heads up. Whilst looking for the insurance policy DH managed to sort out 2” of paperwork for shredding 👏 DH also did the washing up, drying up & putting away 🙂🙂
301 - 304 Large cardboard box, cardboard packaging, kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
305 - 307 Kitchen detritus - binned, 2” shredding for wormeries
Wow mothernerd you are certainly having a ‘time of it’ ☹️ I know you will succeed as you have a plan & are taking into account the need to pace yourself. Please take care & stay safe. Re the ‘tale of the crowbar’ I ‘almost’ get the impression that you wanted a burglar to ‘brain’ 🙃🙃 only joking 😉
BarbCh great quote 🙂 You are a powerhouse 👏 The amount of work you have done in one week is staggering 🤩 You are going to keep us all on our toes 😉 & I have really enjoyed seeing your photos. Not gloomy at all gettingthrifty. You are taking control & reassuring yourself that should anything untoward happen all you will have to concentrate on is getting better. Well done 👏 You appear to have been given the worse case scenarios - not sure that was the way to go ☹️ 🤔 so I am keeping everything crossed 🤞 that the GP/physio were being overly cautious/pessimistic & that a suitable treatment will be found very soon.Good work charlies_tribe 👏 hope you have an emergency box of teabags 🤞Lovely photo vulpix 👏 The room will look wonderful when all your projects are completed & your cat is beautiful ☺️ Your cash for clutter pot is growing nicely & you are shrinking yourself very nicely 👏👏 Thank you for the reassurance to gettingthrifty 👏
We will have to make a list of ways to think about/encourage ourselves on our decluttering journeys - so far we have 1. treat decluttering as an hobby 2. Decluttering Bingo 3. Decluttering noughts and crosses.taff, glad you are feeling better & managing to get some sleep 🙂Welcome aboard the Decluttering Charabanc/s battenberg 👋 Rather than 2021 things in 2021, how about 365 for 365 days or even 52 in 52 weeks? I want you to succeed 🙂Like you I prefer paper copies of financial dealings & although not eco friendly I do not like digital apart from MSE OS forum 😉A sound investment pamsdish 👏Great work TC77 👏 Well done on training your DD - cleaning & tidying by osmosis 👏👏
Excellent work GrannyKate 👏 Rather bemused by your definition of ‘not much’ 😉 The great thing about decluttering is that it puts you in a position to clean 🙂Great work greent 👏 Nice to see your cash for clutter pot is growing 🙂 Do you have a treat planned?
Nice to see you elsien 👋 and thank you for cheering us on 👏 So very sorry to hear that you are not sleeping well ☹️. I think it is a sign of the times ☹️ On a brighter note, I bet your dog thoroughly enjoyed the long walk 🙂
Well done for plugging away bit_by_bit 👏 I really do not understand why tptb make it so difficult 😠 Hugs are coming your way 🤗
Good work short_bird 👏 You did make me smile 😊 re the easy win of deleting emails containing the word valentine 🙂
Steady progress Barny1979 👏
Nice to see moneyonmymindsam - a bit of self care, you deserve it 🙂 Fingers crossed that the vet visit is inexpensive 🤞 Cleaning = decluttering dust & dog hairs 😉
A very successful Sunday leelad 👏 The attic must be looking good now? Is your daughter’s den still there? You must be very pleased that you are looking forward to work 😉 I hope your good lady wife is on the mend 🤞 & is feeling less fatigued.Well done on the window cleaning Nicnak 👏 I am sure it was 2 layers 😉🙂
You might not have been very motivated Marpau, but that is a good amount of decluttering 👏 One medal 🏅 coming your way for homeschooling your grandson 🙂
