2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

No decluttering was done yesterday as we were spending the morning with our eldest dog, exh came around 1pm to pick him up so he could spend some time with him before his appointment. He text me to let me know when he was gone and that he went peacefully. We luckily have his son so its like a little part of him is still alive.
Today I have been through our medical supplies and got rid of some plasters that were not latex free, my daughter and I have a latex allergy so won't use them and I don't want to accidentally use them and cause an allergic reaction. 5x empty cardboard pill boxes, 3x plastic medicine spoons and plastic syringe into the recycling. I spoke to my exmil this morning, she called to see how we were and to tell me that she had sent another package for the kids. I'm glad that I can still have a good relationship with her.: DD1 23/11/09

Not many items have left the house recently
One tea tree oil foot spray that went everywhere when I sprayed it!
One John Frieda hair conditioner to my neighbour just because I had a lot (l meant to buy shampoos)
When I list my decluttered items it's usually clear what area of the house I'm dealing with!
The following items shouldn't really be listed.
4 fogged up windows and 6 pairs of friction stays for windows. Shouldn't really count these as they were just replaced by new ones! I just couldn't resist it.Not Rachmaninov

The problem with clutter here is most of it is not really mine. Limited time to empty MIL's flat so stuff came here - furniture sold or given away, clothes and household items to charity shop when open but it is all the papers and ephemera that need time and patience to sort through carefully. I also still have stuff of my mothers and my late DH. I am fortunate in having quite a large home so it is just too easy to collect stuff and shove it out of sight. I am determined that my children will not inherit unsorted stuff when I go. (no plans for that yet) .
DS2 came round to do odd jobs and went through techie box of cables, gadgets, computer and TV bits and sorted me two small boxes to keep here and re-homed all the rest. 50 items at least gone.
1. Techie stuff x 50. Empty drawer in filing cabinet to tidy away more stuff in study.
2. Random items in bathroom cupboard x 4
3. Reduced flannel stash to 6 in each bathroom. Got rid of 4 oldest looking ones
4. Pictures decluttered from dining room table to place on the wall x 3
5. Cardboard storage boxes with no lids x 2 to recycling
I gave up waiting for it to stop raining and made quick trip to local tip and to post letters.

No idea what just happened, but my iPad just switched itself off with 68% charge 😡
Let me try again 😞1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)
Friday was bright & sunny for the greater part of the day, with rain in the evening. DH went sm shopping. Dinner was oven cooked pork steaks, mushrooms & tomatoes, mash & stir fried hg chard (the last of it ☹️) for DH & DSis. I finished off the lo cheesy pasta with added mozzarella & sliced tomato 😋 Earnest was absent 😞
Saturday has been another bright & sunny morning but now clouded over. Earnest seems to like my DH at the moment 😉 so I joined in 😉 We spent about 90 minutes working in the quagmire that is the back garden. Dug up weeds, placed plastic grids & moved spare patio slabs & 100 or so bricks to their new location. Moved the very heavy hm tabletop garden bed to its new location (legs resting on bricks to prevent rot) It is now out of the shade of the olive tree 👏 & will be left to settle for a few days before refilling with compost. A couple of the spare patio slabs have been utilised as stepping stones. We have 2 blackberry bushes in pots - one thriving so may finally get some blackberries this year & the other which looks practically dead & may end up composted. DH also filled the bird & squirrel feeders. DSis vacuumed the whole of the downstairs whilst we were busy in the garden 👏🙂 The quagmire engendered a bonus declutter 😉 DH’s Sunday trainers were so dirty & his feet so wet, that he finally binned them - although he had gotten an extra year’s use out of them 👏
290 - 293 Kitchen recycling, small cardboard box, paper packaging, drinks cans - recycled
294 - 295 Kitchen detritus, pair of Sunday trainers - binned
Well done ScarletRibbons 👏 bedroom must be almost done now 👏
Great work GrannyKate 👏 I no longer have anything (apart from clothes) that is kept for best - we are all ‘worth it’ & should use our beautiful things daily. Totally agree that we can’t take it with us 😉 Re the grandchildren you CAN count them as long as you leave them at school 🙃😉 sorry couldn’t resist 😉
Thanks for the info BarbCh 👏 I will be brave enough at some point to try this out 🙂
Steady progress Barny1979 👏
Great work D123456789 👏 Perhaps the jump leads were kept to help out neighbours?
Excellent work vulpix 👏 Batch cooking, using up wool, artistic flair - I bet the framed pressed flowers look beautiful - has it been hung up? No problem here vulpix - I frequently
let myself get distracted from doing housework 😂 Yippee bank frog eaten 🥳 Your success has inspired me to do some prepping work re my financial frogs which should make it easier to deal with them 🤞Just a week behind as I was going to sort one out this week 😔
How very beautiful those knitted hats are, BarbCh 😻 Would it be possible for you to point me in the direction of the patterns? You & your DH have been busy nannywindow 👏 Very sensible not risking a broken leg to get the rubbish bin out 👏🙂
Great work short_bird 👏
Good work EnergyShifter 👏
Quite agree vulpix - one job leads to another & sometimes the knock on effect is just so confusing 🤷♀️ where do you start 🤔 However you have a plan so will make it so much easier 🙂
Excellent work notmy1sttime 👏 you have been busy & hopefully all your goods will be accepted & the cash will flow in 🤞 ‘Decluttering Bingo Game’ - what a stunning idea 🤩 so stunning that I am awarding a Gold Star ⭐️ Just one question, do you cross off the dates in order? or just pick a day - as long as the grid is completed by the end of the month?
No need to ‘creep back’ gettingthrifty - every item out is a win 👏
Excellent work GrannyKate 👏 and what a lovely neighbour 😇 Four jigsaws that have a temporary home with you & then sent off into the wider world 🙂
Great work Nicnak 👏 How is the new kitchen coming along?
Still good work moneyonmymindsam 👏 & very kind to donate vegetables to friend.
Great work Viking_mfw 👏 You do know that Murphy’s Law dictates that once the water butts are installed it will only rain every two weeks for an hour at a time 🙃
Excellent work ilovetea 👏 keeping the decluttering momentum going 👏
Great work VickyV 👏 very productive and you feel good 😌 as well as being good 😌
Another successful declutter TC77 👏 especially the insurance task 👏
Glad you got to spend time with old dog kat360. A very good sort out of your medical supplies 👏 You are very fortunate to be on good terms with exmil - not her fault that your ex is #’*£@‘
Frogletina, you can count anything & everything 😉 especially if it keeps you motivated 🙂👏
You are doing a grand job GrannyKate 👏 & nice that DS2 lent a hand or two 🙂 You are so right that papers & ephemera take time & patience to sort plus you have to be in the right frame of mind to tackle it ☹️ I have boxes & boxes of DM & DF paperwork in the attic - 13 & 14 years old 😔 but it is that old adage - out of sight out of mind 😞 plus I have so much of my own to sort out ☹️Hope everyone has a lovely evening.MrsSD 🏅🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 295/2021Savings Pot:

New kitchen has stops and starts. As a jobs, not everything has gone to plan.
Unexpectedly got rid of the table and cleaned out the kitchen cupboards. They'll need doing again, but at least it's one layer. It's been hard as I have a torn rotary cuff and have very little movement in my right shoulder and I'm right handed.
I shredded all my old paperwork as well today so that's another job done.
The living room is back to looking like a living room and the kitchen is half done. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.

Thanks for the cheer MrsSD, much needed.
Bala, I would help a lovely person like you any day
Sold 1 thing fleabay so if I use recycled packing, bubble wrap, box then it could be 4 things out 😂
Feeling really stressed today due to family fued, probate goings on and solicitors letters, tired of it all now. Prior to that I have 2 of mums special jumpers and was thinking of getting them made into sock monkeys, bears or hanging hearts for the family.
Something to think about if I raise enough ebay funds.
