I need to declutter some mice that have moved into my garage and are now eating the rabbits food.
I've got a container they can't get into now. I don't want to harm them so hoping they move out now there's no food available. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x9 -
Pulled my painting clothes on over my nightie and went out to do some tidying. Water/ snow melt from buckets into 2 l saved plastic bottles (stapled rows of them to the fence last year for lettuce and strawberries, want to establish a slow feed system to the roots of plants this year). Did 14 the other day, over 20 from 2 locations today. Then used the freed up buckets for the soil/ stone mixture in a big bag by the gate (ran out of buckets when we were digging out the area for the bins so found the biggest bag I could and told my young helper to shovel it into that) and then moved them on the dolly truck into a quiet corner. All the bin bags, rubble sacks and bags for life which were used to protect surface whilst painting or holding soil/ stones when they had no where left to go, were pegged out on the line to dry out (first lot done, second lot pegged out late afternoon). Huge bag over one of the side bars of the polytunnel. Then at 10 am came inside for breakfast.
Was worn out so planned a quiet sewing day but went out again at about 3 pm. Meant to do an hour, stayed for nearly 3, exhausted and aching but too stubborn to quit and spurred on by a determination not to have to go back out to finish it off tomorrow. So nearly all the raised bed bits have had a second coat (some only on 3 sides). Long slats all stood against the fence, short slats mostly stood on top of the bins but also leaning against the fence. Large jigsaw board (a piece of leftover bathroom cladding) across two bins with 'posts' and end caps plus any short lengths which could not be accommodated elsewhere. All the bins are now lined up correctly on the stones area, all recycling went into the appropriate bins as they were moved - paint and move slats, hang up bins bags covering bin, put rubbish in bin, put bin in place, recover and add a layer of raised bed bits, repeat. Street lights were coming on before I finished.
All the water bottles were gathered in the trolley and the first 20 are now lined up behind the shed. Having moved 3 raised bed packs out of the shed, several bags of bottles and some bits that fell out, there was enough room for me to step into the shed and standing on tiptoe I identified a bag which held mushroom boxes so filled 4 large and 6 medium mushroom boxes with compost. So 1 bin bag, 1 small bag, 1 broken down box, 1 x 50 l compost bag used up and nearly a 2.5 l paint can (less than an inch in the bottom, will be used to cover any worn patches on the fence and shed but not tomorrow). Tomorrow all the painting clothes will go in the washing machine and I will wear a pretty dress and rest (sewing, reading, pamper myself, maybe watch a film or find a new series to start watching).
So only calling a total of 5 (low total but lots of work) so now on 342/ 2021. Hugs to anyone that needs or wants them.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Thursday has been a mostly wet day. Earnest has been noticeable by his absence ☹️ Dinner was takeaway pizza.286 - 288 Kitchen recycling, Uu washing up liquid bottle, drinks cans - recycled

balabooberlies, for the life of me I cannot work out who Sam is 🤔 so not really sure if I can let you have him/her 😉😉 I quite agree sometimes a few kind words can turn a bad day into a good one 🙂 Excellent observation & advice - “forgive ourselves” not easy but well worth the effort 👏🙂BarbCh, I think the reason a Decluttering Thread has been running for years is that a lot of us have found that we cannot move for ‘stuff’ ☹️ We just have too much - in boxes, bags, stuffed into cupboards/drawers, stacked on the floor etc etc We are not making use of the items, we cannot appreciate our items & we are generally feeling suffocated both physically and mentally 😞 My reasoning for moving items on is that if I haven’t used or even looked at something for 5/10/15/20 years then why do I have it? 🙄 I have no real
up-cycling skills but I can knit & I do mend my clothes. My ‘stuff’ is mostly clutter rather than rubbish & I do try very hard to dispose of it responsibly. I am then really happy when I can find things quickly & sometimes discover treasures I had forgotten I owned 🙂
I not only admire your up-cycling skills but also how well you know yourself 👏 I can see you will be an inspiration to many of us 👏 Lovely story about the false teeth 😂
BarbCh what a great idea - releasing a resentment when releasing physical clutter & so very well put 🙂 I will follow along on your new thread which I think is a wonderful contribution to our lives. Thank you.TC77, I think sometimes especially when we are younger we don’t quite appreciate ourselves enough. If we are lucky confidence comes with age & we are now fortunate in that BarbCh has started a new thread about mental decluttering - building our confidence & belief in ourselves.Great work ScarletRibbons 👏
pamsdish, perhaps get in touch with the RSPCA - it seems rather ‘odd’ that Social Services have become involved 🤔Sorry about the pain gettingthrifty ☹️ Hopefully your exercises & stretching will do the trick & you will be able to move freely & without pain 🙂Beautiful sentiment Viking-mfw 🙂 compassion is such an uplifting word 👏Great work newlywed 👏 Remember our decluttering mojo comes & goes but you are still decluttering & making progress 🙂 btw congratulations on the weight loss 👏👏Nannywindow, you are still doing really well because you are stopping clutter coming in 👏I agree £££s saved is good clutter 😉My iPad needs charging, so I will return later & continue cheerleading 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 289/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind.
