grudges and resentment about own weaknesses, lack of confidence ? Forgive yourself, when you know better you do better. This is what I am learning at such a very late stage. Better late than never.

Decluttered one parrot, I am really upset, instructed by Social Services to put the parrot back as owners daughter is going to collect, this is the same daughter he hasn`t seen for 18 months, the same daughter who stole his pension and left him with huge bills, I could go on, took parrot back yesterday 1 p.m., she didn`t come, supposed to be coming today, we will see, haven`t slept all night worrying about a bird, cold and lonely.
Sorry for all this but I am so wound up.Do I need it or just want it.13 -
balabooberlies... thanks for your input about kind words... it's a ripple effect and none of us truely know the impact that they can have.
The tips we share can make a difference to someone's life on so many levels.
I see posts about people deleting 500 emails... which is great for a digital declutter and makes that person feel as if they have achieved something relevant to themselves... which is great at inspiring others to follow suit.... but for me the more practical tips have a greater knock on effect. Somehow knowing that someone threw away 20 bin bags of rubbish today, doesn't inspire me much... but well done to them for achieving it!
A FUNNY STORY ON THAT NOTE:
a friend of mine had gotten her flat into a very cluttered and dirty state... her clutter and rubbish was old food packaging etc.... so other friends of hers stepped in to help her get on track.
During this process she was sorting out old letters etc and putting them in a carrier bag for disposal.
Her false teeth were left on the table alongside her and the dog got hold of them and chewed them.... so in her frustration she threw them in the bag with old torn up letters... and off they went with the other rubbish bags to the tip.
Several weeks and a new set of teeth later, a package arrived.... on opening it.... it was from the local recycling centre, who during the sorting process, found her teeth in the bag and as her name and address were on envelopes in the same bag..... they returned them to her! LOL!
Lesson in the story.... be mindful of how you dispose of things (letters etc) but see the funny side and the goodness of human nature, maybe the person at the recycling plant thought that her teeth were discarded by mistake...... and as an after thought ..... would they have returned a diamond ring if it was in the same bag!
Food for thought12 -

@mothernerd you are an absolute powerhouse!
@TC77 grudges are a big thing in my paternal family and I struggle. I have found the best thing to do is when I notice I'm holding one and fretting about it is to take some deep breaths and repeat "it doesn't matter" to myself or indeed sing the Frozen song. It is definitely worth realising the only person they really hurt is you so show yourself some compassion. I am sure if you keep an eye out a good project to replace the armchair will come along, and feel that much sweeter for having waited. Hugs.12 -
Sorry, way too far behind in the thread to catch up...
had a good start to the month but then completely lost my mojo...
however, sister wants card making supplies (mine have been in a box for over ten years) so will drop those off this weekend whilst exercising.
Two tops added to the charity bag (too big), two pairs of shoes planned to be added also (and possibly a pair of boots as I haven’t worn them yet but don’t think they are going to be comfy). Need to find a box to be able to send them off to bhf.Oh and a coat hanger broke, so that’s binned. Some skirts are becoming looser but not quite in the smaller skirts so not ready to give them up just yet! They will go though, to make sure I don’t grow again.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?12 -
Hello all, well done to everyone, I'm ashamed to say I haven't kept up with the thread or the decluttering
Think I must have decluttered my mojo somewhere along the way. I have been doing the daily stuff though and an extra cardboard box from a fruit delivery this week. Dad came yesterday for the day (he's in our bubble) and went home with a bag full of stuff, including batteries, fruit from the box, pork steaks etc..... oh! and a hair cut, good job I hadn't decluttered my hair scissors. I still haven't had mine cut so now it's quite long and I haven't spent anything on it for over a year, so I've probably saved myself £'s in hair cuts/ colouring. That's a type of good cluttering that I approve of
Keep up the good worknanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
