Scot Powers performance dealing with YE's SoLR
Opened this thread as the original - "Yorkshire Energy?" - seems to have run it's course and we are now in the position of 70,000 YE customers burning energy on an unkown tariff with SP.
To be fair, the SoLR was arranged pretty quickly and absorbing 70,000 new accounts will take some effort and time, but SP's track record of Billing and dealing with Complaints leaves a lot to be desired, so air your problems here.

Bit of advice for new readers who may not have seen the other thread... Yorkshire Energy account section is still live and working. Suggest doing the following:
- Download your most recent bills
- Underneath your account balance you can click through to "View Balance and Payments". This will be a useful page to either screen print, or use "print to PDF" options
- Also from the account home page, there's a "View your tariff" link. From the tariff page you can view your previous meter readings. Screen print, or print to PDF those pages.
There's nothing to suggest the YE account site will be closed, but it's best to get your own copy of all the data just in case.7 -

To all Yorkshire Energy customers.Be patient. Scottish Power became SOLR just 8 weeks ago to 130,000 Tonik Energy customers and they are struggling. We have access to only the last two statements on the TE dashboard so ensure you download your bills in case of a dispute.Good luck

I've had my email from Scottish power yesterday, I clicked through and filled in the form but stopped at giving them bank details.
Had a read of what ofgem were saying and they seemed to say its okay to switch now wondering if that will be okay? YE only has a couple of quid owing to me but my dd goes out on 10th0 -

Ugh just found out tonight after reading the email. Gutting, as we had an opportunity to switch a few months ago when our fixed tarrif finished, but they offered to "extend" it without any exit fees, I guess now we know the reason they made this offer. When's the earliest we can switch away from SP? We had a decent lump of credit for winter with YE, I don't want to lose that so I've completed the form to switch to SP. How long will it take to switch over? Surely they can't hold us on their expensive tarrif through winter and claim it was just a "processing" problem?0

According to MSE page on YE, it says this ---"Once Scottish Power contacts you to confirm you've been transferred to it, use our free Cheap Energy Club to see if you can save by switching. It's best to wait until you hear from Scottish Power though, as switching before the transfer completes could lead to a long delay or the switch not going through."

Two years ago I got transferred to Octopus when Iresa went bust on 1st August, Octopus notified be that the transfer had completed and I was free to change on 22nd August and I became a customer of Eversmart on 6th September = a total of 37 days. However the speedy transfer to Octopus was facilitated by me having all my data to hand, submitting my 30th July meter readings to Octopus on 6th and agreeing a final IRESA bill by 18th August. I have to say that Octopus were exemplary in keeping me informed and on track and I would have stayed with them had they not been nigh on £300 a year more expensiveNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

I just rang Shell energy to ask about sigining up with them. They told me, I have to do it NOW, because if I wait until Sottish Power complete taking over my account, then I'll have to wait 28 Days before I can switch to Shell Energy. They said it is NOT their rule, but the industry rule. Can someone confirm or refute this?0
